After more than two decades of relentless professional exile, Dr. Andrew Wakefield—the British gastroenterologist whose 1998 Lancet case series first exposed a potential link between the MMR vaccine, severe gastrointestinal inflammation, and developmental regression—has been powerfully validated by a landmark scientific review from the McCullough Foundation.

Wakefield’s 1998 paper documented 12 children with pervasive developmental disorders and chronic enterocolitis.

I think the problem is that there are many studies and papers published about, mostly, the link between inflammation, immune response and autism. Each is a small study, and each has a different method or focus. Years ago, an American tracked down and read every paper he could find to work out a treatment for his autistic son. His work paid off as he saw an improvement and his son became far more functional. The treatment for fixing the damage that caused autism is not a magic pill because autism does not have one simple cause. Is that why no country in the world wants to adopt such a process in treating autism ...? But, beware of people like RFK jnr and Trump who grab simple explanations and answers. Banning Tylenol will not eradicate autism ... not every pregnant or breastfeeding mother who takes Tylenol will have an autistic child, and not every pregnant or breastfeeding mother who does not take Tylenol will not have an autistic child.

For a start, it would be great to see a country set up a panel to review every single bit of research, commission research for where there are gaps, and embrace a complex approach to prevention and cure.

Of course, there are many who are afraid that they will be sued for trillions if any country did do what is necessary to prevent, manage and cure autism. Wakefield is an example of what lengths they will go to in order to protect themselves and their source of wealth.

From a gut feeling reaction ...I would rather go and live on a remote island than allow a child of mine to be injected with dozens of vaccines. I don't need the studies or official government policy to persuade me.

It's easy, I think, to lose track of what this means, reading the anodyne medical language. Let me try to put this into plain language: what appears to have happened is that greedy leaders of pharmaceutical companies created a product that was poisonous. It poisoned, perhaps, multi-millions of people. 1 in 10,000 with autism to 1 in 36 is one hell of an increase in autism. It's not much of a stretch to suppose that the vaccine had something to do with that statistic. That means that many, many families watched their kid turn from a healthy, happy child to someone with severe, long-lasting problems. Problems that may have been ruinous to their life prospects. And the response of the pharmaceutical companies? Figure out how to get immunity from prosecution and compensation payments. Ruin the career of anyone who threatens the profitability of their racket. And then business as usual.

There's nothing wrong with trying to make a buck. Some businesses are intrinsically risky. A new drug could turn out to have unforeseen side effects. But using their financial might to shut people up, instead of building an honest business model that strives to improve society and improve their products, is unforgivable.

Oh yeah, and then sell you quack remedies for the damage their vaccines caused in the first place. What a racket!
