❗️⚠️🇷🇺 - A partial collapse at the Snezhkom indoor ski complex in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, injured two people and damaged more than 100 vehicles, according to TASS citing emergency services.

One victim was examined on-site by doctors and declined hospitalization. The second was transported by ambulance to a trauma center for treatment, per the Moscow Region Health Ministry.

In nearby residences, shattered windows injured one woman when glass shards struck her face, causing a nasal laceration; she also refused hospitalization.

Opened in 2008, Snezhkom was Russia's first all-season indoor ski facility, featuring a 365-meter ski slope, training areas, a snowboard park, and an ice rink.

Demolition began in summer 2024 after the structure was deemed unsafe due to flaws in the dome and metal trusses that risked further collapse. Challenges included the massive scale of the metal components—some sections weighing tens of tons—leading to repeated pauses for load recalculations and safety adjustments. The building remains partially intact, with plans to construct a residential complex on the site.

Just a personal comment. I follow this thread closely, as many will know, and it always strikes me how VERY strongly and passionately Russians honor, celebrate, and protect their national culture — something that is just not done in North America or Europe any longer at all.

😍 The Shoana Temple is one of the few architectural testimonies of ancient Christianity.

It is visited by those who are captivated not only by the delightful nature of the Greater Caucasus but also by its man-made beauties. The place where this temple was built is steeped in historical intricacies and life's dramas. And no wonder, for 11 centuries have passed since its construction.

The cathedral is located in the village of Kosta Khetagurov in Karachay-Cherkessia and was built above the Kuban River, more precisely, at the point where it merges with the Teberda River on Mount Shoana.

The temple is built in the form of a cross. Both in length and in height, the building measures almost 13 meters. During the Soviet years, the temple stood in desolation, but in our time, it has come back to life. Today, divine services are held there daily.

Organizers described the exhibition as unprecedented in the region, a powerful symbol of the modern era. Residents and visitors saw weaponry supplied to the Kiev regime and captured during the Special Military Operation, including the M2 Bradley, M113, VAB, TPz 1 “Fuchs,” and BTR-4E “Bucephalus,” delivered from the South Donetsk direction by fighters of the “Vostok” group.
