in the movies or TV always say something like when you time travel to the past and if you step into the bug then the future could be changed...how this possible? happen only in movies? ..this isn't like you do something that related to you and it change everything.

if there's Alternative Realities then what about our soul? how our soul exist in alternative realities? does our soul split up or our soul only exist Main realities.

According to Ion our soul is not what we think it is.Its a stenographer like you see in a court room.It records our currant incarnation into physical.
Its the white light you see when you are passing over into the 'Guf' .It shows you the life you have just experianced.which explains some reports
of as you are dieing you can sometimes visualise your life flashing before you, and if you die it does! All our unrealised dreams are added to the
collective essecence of the 'Guf' hebrew for heaven. It seems our eternal part in pure electricity squared, which takes us into the holgraphic
universe world. Its starting to make sence the more we are becoming aware of the nature of reality.

Thanks Reilly, that's on Atlantis too...hadn't noticed it, though it as shuts Air Force, not the Entire DOD, yikes!

I suspect it because it shows the military as whole as good guys with a few bad apples that are always snuffed out and dealt with--which I am sure is exactl the same as real life (that's sarcasm, sorry!).

Whether any of it is true of not, the arc of the series (plural) contain the manifestation of almost every idea anyone who thinks about such things (technology beyond conventional boundaries, spirituality/philosophies/culture different from what most of "civilized" folk care to imagine) could possibly come up with.

So I like to think the military input is making sure gov and mil are heroes, while hiding some of their tech in plain sight, probably throwing in lies or twists on them that would serve as road blocks for anyone trying to create such things (even the cultural & spiritual beliefs, particularly consciousness & ascension--and the technologies they introduce around that.

What really resonated with me though and may be the biggest piece of the puzzle is the enemies:

The Ghola (sp) - serpent parasites that take over human hosts -- whose purpose is driven by power and selfishness
Replicators - AI hive creatures that were innocent creations that Frankenstein monstered their "master", whose only purpose is to consume and reproduce
The Ori - false god "higher dimensional" race--pretty much manifested thought forms that feed off the belief and worship of 3D beings, an "evil" antithesis to the "ancients", our enlightened ancestors
The wraith (from SG-Atlantis) - original parasitic bugs not unlike a combo of replicators (hive mind, purpose to consume & replicate & the Ori/ghoa'l that feed directly from the energy of humans)

Whether there are truly other worldly/dimensional beings like any of them, they are all more apt metaphors for the true enemies of humanity...they are closer to the concept "evil" than most of the crap on TV, that just assumes evil exists for no reason with no purpose. Focusing on the possible motivations of evil (to us) and the show of compassion toward them and cooperation with them (and other races with differences) is often the solution to most of their problems rather than just going in, deceiving or overpowering them and blowing them the **** up. While that occasionally happens, it is not the norm and generally leads to bigger problems for them.

Yup, Terra Nova was axed too (along with the remake of "V") after the first series, despite having great ratings. STAR TREK Enterprise was also doing well (apparently), but as Trekkers will know, it finished at the end of Season 4 - just when it was getting really good.

I don't know enough about the specific parts of religious teaching to argue wether
what Ion is saying is right or wrong from their viewpoint. But it sounds plausible to
me after listening to it being brought up in many times by Bob & ion in the shows
& other sessions.Ion is very versed in the bible especially the old testament and
quotes from it reguarlary although correcting its meanings all the time.Ion does say
heaven/Guf is all around us, so its not like the Christian version of a specific place,
its the pure electrical enviroment all around us..

    This is from wiki

In Jewish mysticism the Chamber of Guf (also Guph or even Gup) Hebrew for "body", also called the Otzar (Hebrew for "treasury"), is the Treasury of Souls, located in the Seventh Heaven.
According to Jewish mythology, in the Garden of Eden there is a Tree of life or the Tree of Souls[1] that blossoms and produces new souls, which fall into the Guf, the Treasury of Souls. Gabriel reaches into the treasury and takes out the first soul that comes into his hand. Then Lailah, the Angel of Conception, watches over the embryo until it is born.

According to Rabbi Isaac Luria, the trees are resting places for souls and sparrows can see the soul's descent, explaining their joyous chirping. The Tree of Souls produces all the souls that have ever existed, or will ever exist. When the last soul descends, the world will come to an end.[2] According to the Talmud, Yevamot 62a, is that the Messiah will not come until the Guf is emptied of all its souls. In keeping with other Jewish legends that envision souls as bird-like, the Guf is sometimes described as a columbarium, or birdhouse. The mystic significance of the Guf is that each person is important and has a unique role which only they, with their unique soul, can fulfill. Even a newborn baby brings the Messiah closer simply by being born.

The peculiar idiom of describing the treasury of souls as a "body" may be connected to the mythic tradition of Adam Kadmon, the primordial man. Adam Kadmon, God's "original intention" for humanity, was a supernal being, androgynous and macro-cosmic (co-equal in size with the universe). When this Adam sinned, humanity was demoted to the flesh and blood, bifurcated and mortal creatures we are now. According to Kabbalah, every human soul is just a fragment (or fragments) cycling out of the great "world-soul" of Adam Kadmon. Hence, every human soul comes from the guf [of Adam Kadmon].

    Stargate Returning to TV:

    *

Good news if you're a Stargate fan. I'm hopeful, as several of the original showrunners are involved, but not too optimistic at the same time. Because it's Amazon! Their track record in adapting existing IPs is dreadful.

    STARGATE RETURNS!

Yes, it’s true. 14 years after the franchise aired its last episode (SGU’s “Gauntlet”), a new Stargate series has been greenlit by Amazon. And it’s not a reboot or a wholesale reimagining that will wipe the slate clean on 17 seasons and some 350 hours of Stargate history. It’s a new series that will be the perfect jumping-on point for first-time viewers while, at the same time, honoring the existing past. And the reason for that is because this new series was created by longtime franchise veteran Martin Gero who worked on SG-1, Atlantis and Universe, writing such notable fan favorites as The Storm, The Eye, Duet, First Strike, Be All My Sins Remember’d and many more.

Joining the production of the new series is Brad Wright, co-creator and co-showrunner of all that came before – Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. Martin has kindly offered yours truly a role on the project as well and I have happily accepted.

Martin has been developing this show for a while now. A little over a year ago, he reached out and asked “Want to read something cool?”. That something, it turned out, was his pilot script for the new Stargate series. Now I obviously can’t say too much about the content at this point – but I can assure you that it embraces everything that made the original Stargates so great: heart, humor, rich mythology, exploration, action, adventure, compelling/endearing characters, and that overall sense of optimism and fun that made you fall in love with Stargate.

You are all in for a treat.

    Eventually.

Now putting this production together is going to take some time even though Martin has already done a lot of the preliminary heavy lifting, writing the pilot script and series overview that details the show, its world and characters, as well as his plans for the first season and beyond. Between now and the series premiere somewhere down the line, the writers room must be assembled, stories need to be spun, scripts written, prep started, crew hired, actors cast and, eventually, a new Stargate series produced.

It will take a while but Martin shares my philosophy when it comes to dialing in the fandom, so expect to receive updates throughout the prep, production, and post process. Concept art, behind-the-scenes photos, videos and insights, breaking news and much much more!

Get ready. We’re heading through the gate one more time.

    Chevron Eight is locked!

    Cool!

Thanks for info as I was unaware.

I saw the complete SG1, most of SG Atlantis years ago which I coincidentally started rewatching from the beginning on Amazon Prime this week, but I really enjoyed Stargate Universe series which ticked me off by not getting renewed after 2 seasons, leaving much up in the air as I recall.

(Just in second episode of Atlantis, they tried injecting untested on humans 'gene therapy' DNA-modifying substances to try and allow control over the Ancients technology which had a DNA factor to activate it. And of course the remnants of the Atlantean civilization was in Antarctica.

Quote Several million years ago, the continent of Antarctica has become covered in ice. Their lies the great city of the Ancients, Atlantis – but no longer. One Ancient bids a solemn farewell to another, who will stay behind. The great city lifts off the surface and flies away like a great ship, leaving behind only a small outpost and the woman, who scientists will discover frozen in the ice millions of years later, and name "Ayiana" ("Frozen").

In the present day, an international expedition has been set up on the same site to study the outpost of the Ancients and the technology therein

I also suspect some soft disclosure embedded in these series, and the SG1 100 episode really did tongue-in-cheek relate to that:

    Wormhole X-Treme!

Quote "Wormhole X-Treme!" is the 100th episode of military science fiction adventure television show Stargate SG-1 and is the 12th episode of the fifth season. The episode was first broadcast September 8, 2001 on Showtime in the United States. It was written by series co-creator and executive producer Brad Wright along with supervising producers Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie and was directed by Peter DeLuise.

In the episode, Stargate Command learns that an alien ship belonging to the same race as Martin Lloyd is heading for Earth. They locate Martin, who having once again lost his memories has created a television series called Wormhole X-Treme!, seemingly based upon the top secret Stargate Program.

The story centres around a show-within-a-show called Wormhole X-Treme! which parodies Stargate SG-1. In creating the episode, Wright and all those involved sought to create a comedic episode that celebrated the show through parody, cameo appearances, inside and metafictional jokes and references. The episode is a sequel to "Point of No Return" from the show's fourth season. The season ten episode "200" follows up on characters and events from the episode.
    Concerning StarGate Universe

    https://www.gateworld.net/news/2024/...gate-universe/

The Lost Season 3 of Stargate Universe

SGU wasn't meant to end at two seasons. Here's how the writers planned to resolve that cliffhanger in a third season.

Today Stargate Universe marks its fifteenth anniversary, premiering on Syfy Channel in the United States on October 2, 2009. It’s hard to believe this remarkable show has been with us so long — and it still hurts that the show was cut short in the middle of its story.

From the first frame, Stargate Universe was designed to be a different kind of Stargate television series. After 15 seasons of tongue-in-cheek action-adventure, the writing team was eager to try a different form of storytelling and stretch some different creative muscles. SGU was more serialized, with complicated characters who weren’t always worth emulating, who began the show at one another’s throats as they hurtled through deep space on a derelict Ancient ship.

But there was a big turn in the story in Season Two: Dr. Rush (Robert Carlyle) gained control of the ship, revealed the reason that the Ancients launched the ship so many eons ago, and finally buried the hatchet with Colonel Young (Louis Ferreira). The crew set aside their differences and now chose to be there, to try and fulfill Destiny‘s mission as they fight for survival.

The show was evolving, ready to enter its third season with renewed purpose and characters who were starting to treat each other like a found family. But the network ended the mission prematurely, leaving that planned 5-year story unfinished.

To mark 15 years of SGU, let’s look back at the big-picture story that the show was building, that bittersweet finale, and — here’s where things get really fun! — the plans that the writers had for how they might resolve the cliffhanger in Season Three.

A shame it's going to be on Prime Video, a service I do not subscribe to (with no plans to do so in the future). I'm hoping it might eventually be available on other platforms, on the condition it will be something actually worth watching and not a total disaster!

Below, an interesting chat with one of the show's original stars, Michael Shanks, who played Dr Daniel Jackson in the seminal SG-1. He discusses the recent announcement and his hopes for the future of the franchise.

Huge fan of all the Stargate series, despite the high level of violence in some episodes (literally put my hands over my eyes until it is safe to resume watching). For each series, the core group they chose to carry the show were so very good ... amazing characters and an amazing blend of characters.

Unfortunately for me, if it is not in YouTube or Netflix I will not be able to watch the new series (a relative has a subscription for Netflix, which allows for 5 users, so she kindly lets me use her account for free).

But thanks for starting this thread ... I can come here to indulge in all things Stargate!

I was getting Prime Video until recently, when they announced that they are marketing their own VPN now and if you have a different one, you have to drop it in order to watch Prime Video. I think they may lose some customers, even if just on principle.

In our remote location, shopping at Amazon is a near-must for us, and paying for Prime for free-shipping more than pays for the video content, in my view.

We don't support Netflix in any way, shape, or form, and I have been reasonably happy with the content and selection on Prime.

Since retiring, I watched/rewatched the complete series on Prime for each of: Fringe, Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse, and Stargate Universe

Prime also caters to Scl-Fi and speculative fiction enthusiasts with a large (rotating) selection of movies and other TV series of lesser quality than the above.

(Yes, I realize I could perhaps be doing more productive things with this time, but I find watching these escapist SciFi shows relaxes me and my eyestrain issues from reading computers and books throughout the day)

It was Science Fiction which got me interested in reading books in 3rd grade - (early Heinlein juveniles.)

(But just like with movies such as Lord of the Rings, I sometimes turn the sound way-down or even fast-forward through the fight scenes, which do get old.)

Off topic for this thread, but in my view Apple TV has been making some excellent Sci or Speculative fiction shows over the last several years:

Foundation, Severance, Silo, Invasion, See, Pluribus, Murderbot, Hello Tomorrow, Dark Matter. (I have not watched For All Mankind, just learned Ronald D Moore is the show creator, so maybe I will)
