    Default Self publishing any writings...

How could one go about self--publishing, a book of poems, for example?

You may want to look into small presses and houses...

If using Amazon you want to download their Kindle Create software - https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/to...GQ4WDZ92F733GC

Open your word.doc manuscript in the software and then export as a KPF file once you're happy with its layout and formatting. That KPF file is what you upload to Kindle Direct Publishing for ebooks. For Paperback the process is a bit different, just convert your word document to a PDF and upload the PDF. Any issues PM me as I'm quite familiar with the process and will be happy to help.

Thanks for your kind offer, Losus4

My situation is multi--faceted because my poems were written in the 70's on sheets of paper or just typed on paper.
They have been gathering dust ever since. To be honest I'm beginning to doubt that I will ever have the motivation to
type them in a format that I could arrange into book form.

It may be wishful thinking and decades too late, and to make matters worse I am really not computer literate.

But, thank you again, so very much.

That sounds like me in 1999!

But I felt compelled to type all my poems into the "computer". So I learned how to do that. Then I learned how to print on those old dot matrix printers. I made a nice leafy border all around each page (remember how they were all attached together with perforated seams?) and then ran the batch through and printed my poems on the pretty pages.

It took me forever and I ruined entire boxes of paper but in the end it turned out okay.

I gave a copy to family and friends for Christmas that year.

Edit to add the point of the post:
I encourage you to make the effort if it is possible. These days it is far easier, the project will pay dividends in unexpected ways, and your poems want a proper home - they deserve it!
