I seen a few reports of many witnesses complaining that the reason many of these officers just stood there and did nothing is because they themselves weren't even armed and were afraid to approach the shooters.

Having a police force which is largely unarmed is beyond stupid! More proof that woke nonsense and far left ideologies will get people killed!

The reports you read claiming that police in Australia are unarmed are completely incorrect.

Each state and territory in Australia has its own police force and all Australian police officers are armed. Regular frontline officers are equipped with Glock semi-automatic handguns. The Tactical Response Group (TRG) - the Australian equivalent of SWAT - is the unit with specialist weapons and tactics. Their response would have been secondary, possibly accounting for the delays.

It's actually quite a common misconception that Australian police are largely unarmed. I believe some may think Australian police are similar to UK police where most frontline officers do not carry firearms (however the UK do have specialist firearms officers).

I'm still catching up and reading the news reports about the incident and learning about all the details (it's the morning after here in Australia). Apparently two police officers were also injured.

Australian society is becoming more polarised and the social cohesion is slowly disintegrating. With years of leftist lunacy and wokeshevism the pendulum is also starting to swing the other way.

Several anti-immigration rallies have also been held recently in Australia - and some of them were 'hijacked' by actual neo-Nazi groups. There is also a division within the Australian patriot movement over the Zionism issue - perhaps similar to the MAGA vs MIGA debate in the US:

For months and months the mainstream media and government have also been harping on about the rise of anti-Semitism.

Now these shootings have occurred.

Of course when such large mass casualty incidents happen - and indeed this has been classed as a terrorist attack - it allows the government to enact emergency powers and justifies the ramming through of new legislation and sweeping security measures: problem > reaction > solution.

Pretty much the whole event was filmed on a camera phone. It's almost 11 minutes long. For most of it, police sirens can be heard, but uniform is nowhere in sight. For a large police force in a major city, they take an inordinately long time to respond.

If the police would of rushed these two thugs and took them down right away, many lives would of been saved.....but they just hung out for a bit and listened to the gunshots and screams for a while before doing anything.

Seems like we've seen similar law enforcement responses like this before.....

Above, another Rabbi in Sydney commenting on the situation , praising heroic action of the son of Syrian refugees Al Ahmad who has disempowered the gunman.

I can't help myself thinking that most of the people involved live too much "in their heads" , not in reality.

Even if their emotions look real , appropriate , confused , they're eerily cool about it at the same time.

It may be because their faith makes them feel apart , isolated instead of involved ,
seen that offstand good number of times , "not us, not us , talk to someone else , we are ...".

I don't know why . Perhaps it's better not to know why and stay on alert.

So that you can claim "being ready" if someone start shooting .

The horrific shooting will be used for those purposes, but I think that is an opportunistic response rather than the shootings being deliberately planned as a false flag operation.

Apologies if I offend anyone (or everyone), but 911 was used in that way ... not planned by 'them' in the USA, but used by 'them' opportunistically (and danger signs perhaps deliberately ignored or dismissed as not feasible, but if it happens, we can make good use of it, so ...).

What has been done in Gaza (and Australia is complicit) was inevitably going to result in violent attacks on, mostly, Jews all around the world. We have seen this over and over again, and every time the warnings are ignored. And, the very people who go to extreme lengths to protect all Jews (including suppressing free speech and ...), no matter what Israel does, do not lift a finger to protect the children in Gaza, to this day. The very people who took over entire continents, at the huge expense of indigenous populations, now scream about being overwhelmed by immigrants.

This awful shooting and killing if people (evil, in my opinion) is not about religion or terrorism. It is about extreme violence (Gaza) creating more violence. But, an overwhelming reaction (even here) is to scream 'terrorist' and 'Muslims' and 'immigration', and the response is more control and surveillance from governments, and justification for extreme racial profiling.
