The ‘House of the Virgin Mary’, near Ephesus in western Turkey. The house has become a pilgrimage site due to the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, lived in the house after being taken there by John the Apostle. Several popes have visited the site. Picture from last year.

The House of the Virgin Mary. Ephesus & Loreto.
According to tradition, St. John brought Mary to Ephesus, where she lived out her earthly life.

>It's believed to be where Mary lived with St. John after Jesus' death, and it is a popular pilgrimage site for Catholics and others.
>The site is a simple stone building that is believed to have been Mary's home during her last years.
Loreto, Italy:
>The Basilica della Santa Casa in Loreto, Italy, enshrines the "Holy House," which is believed to be the house where the Virgin Mary lived in Nazareth.
>According to tradition, the house was miraculously moved to Loreto from Nazareth.
>The Basilica of the Holy House is a major Marian shrine and pilgrimage destination.
Both places are sites of deep Marian devotion, filled with quiet reverence and the scent of incense.
