    Please forgive me if this is a bit off-topic but every time I listen to the beautiful music played by the Graystones I can't help thinking, generally speaking, this is what children can do when they're not vaccinated. It's good hear that they're planning on producing their own originals in the future.

    It seems that all good things often come to an end, and in this case I was so very sad to hear it.

    It's hard to know exactly what's happened, but Max (the bass player) and Hope (the super-talented singer) are no longer on the Greystones' website.

    Hope has released a single:

    ...and the band manager posted this statement a few days ago:

    ~~~
    A response from the Band Manager for the Graystones
    “Thank you for your email asking about changes happening with The Graystones. We apologize for the radio silence as we have been navigating through some transitions and privacy is very important to us.
    Yes, it is true that some of the musicians that have played with The Graystones have moved on to pursue other projects. We respect their decision and remain friends. Our position is that the more music and art brought into this world, the better.
    We will provide a little more clarity on the situation once things are more settled but will also be mindful of the privacy of the children and their families.
    We are immensely grateful for your continuous interest in the band, your love of the music and your concern for our well-being. As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited about the future and eager to create more music to share with all of you!
    Thank you again for your support."
    What are the odds some industry snake whispered in one of those kids' ears and tempted them away to pursue more green and "lucrative" pastures? Sadly, you see it very often with young, talented performers coming out with fresh, wholesome content. They get their ears bent, and their pockets filled. They sign a contract, and then the label rules their lives. They're told what to say, what to wear, how to act, and what to record. Their clean-cut image disappears. They're a member of the "club" now. Another industry clone. Then it's parties and drugs, and god knows what else. The downward spiral then begins.
    "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace."
    ~ Jimi Hendrix
    OMG, they are back. With some new members too, and this cover (one of my personal favorite ever numbers from the 70s) is right up with all their others over the last couple of years. And the outtake at the end shows they're truly having a bunch of fun.
    Fleetwood Mac's The Chain - performed by The Graystones 25 Jan 2026
    Here's what they published to accompany the video:
    ~~~

    As many of you know by now, we were left with some large positions in the band to fill. We love Grey (new bass player) and Summer (new guitar player) and we hope you can encourage their journey with The Graystones.

    Other have left the band and we would also encourage you to follow them. We are so happy that there is even more music to share.

    Grayson, Philip, Harin and Evan are part of the original crew.

    We are still looking for great singers (boys or girls) in our age range of 12 (or maybe 13 or 14). Please reach out to us at www.thegraystones.com if you would like to connect on this.

    Welcome to Sock Session 9!

    Behind the music:

    Performers on this song:

    Grayson - drums
    Evan Riley - vocals and acoustic guitar
    Jake - acoustic and electric guitar
    Grey - bass
    Summer - electric guitar
    Harin - key

    Performing this song was such a huge treat because we got to play with 2 superstars: @EvanRileysings and @JakeKidguitarist are 2 of the most amazing musicians we've ever worked with!

    We are just so honored to have these amazing people who are so gifted, come and play along with us. They're not just such talented artists, but they are just 2 wonderful and lovely kids and we love them to death!

    Their social links are below and we would encourage you to support them both! In a sky already filled with stars, these 2 are some of the brightest shining.

    We added some sounds to the track including tambourine, some keyboard parts and some background vocals. Even though some of the band member sang during the song, we wound up using Evan Riley's additional vocal tracks for almost all of the background vocals you hear. So if you like the harmonies, that's almost fully her!

    Fun fact: Jake had to learn how to play the guitar with finger picking technique specifically to be able to perform this song. We love what he did and the way it came out.

    Dear Friends, you gotta listen to this. Trust me. It's phenomenal.

    This new music video has had 600k views in 4 days. No-one can believe what they're hearing.

    These are 6th graders — young kids — who first heard the song on a recent Monday. They practiced it each day until Friday, all in the middle of their school exams. Then they recorded it 4 times, the 3rd time being the one they felt was the best and is shown here, with another audio track overlaid to round it off for YouTube.

    If you listen to this with your eyes closed, you'd be forgiven for thinking this might really be Supertramp.

    Here's the video description:
    Little background to what you're seeing here: We learned this song between Monday and Friday of days last week and then on Saturday, we set up the cameras and recorded us performing the song back-to-back 4 times in a row.

    You are hearing the 3rd pass of this song from beginning to end. We created all the sounds you're hearing (some of you think that it's AI - but it's just us)... although we did have to add a couple of extra passes for background vocals and a couple of keyboard tracks and we show some of those in the video.

    Crazy part is that we learned this (and another song) during the final week of 6th grade (last week)... so we scrambled to not only wrap all of our school testings and exams, but had to cram in learning 2 iconic and challenging songs as best we could... and then we video'd both songs the very next day after school got out this past Saturday. The 2nd song is a secret and we will be releasing it next.

    I edited my post (the opening one on this thread) with this:
    Edit to add, April 2026

    I'm shocked that has been taken down, and (sadly!) it appears there's parental conflict now that the two singers Izzy and Hope have left the Graystones. But here's the original still on Facebook: (and it's VERY VERY good)

    Just remove the spaces between https and colon, also ignore Magenta. It is a 1080p version.

    Separately, I've just seen this. The text below is the only description added.

    (So this is what's happened... )
    Our first release as The Turnarounds. Five former members of The Graystones (Max, Hope, Izzy, Ishaan, Kyle) and new bandmate Isaac cover the Pomplamoose mash-up of Sweet Dreams (The Eurythmics) + Seven Nation Army (The White Stripes). The kids are so happy to be back playing music they love.
