IMO the Israelis cannot stop themselves, and their behaviour is going to become more depraved and violent on the road they have chosen. Just like the Hamas-led invasion of Southern Israel more than two years ago was predictable and avoidable without violence, so was what Israel has become.

I align with BRICS thinking in not supporting sanctions being used for political coercion (among other things), but it would perhaps be a better choice than violence. Israel must be stopped, and whether this is through violence (Iran bombing them until the whole of Israel looks like Gaza) or through comprehensive sanctions and diplomatic shunning (the US, India, Germany and other major supporters of Israel would have to do this along with most of the world), there seems to be no choice without dreadful consequences. The US playbook of assassinating leaders will not work in Israel just as it did not work in Iran. This would be a good time for a miracle!

Personally, I am seeing Lebanon and Hezbollah as two different entities, with Lebanon becoming more brazen and brave to separate from Hezbollah and Iran, basically to save themselves. (but I am no expert on this).

I think we may see something rather surprising happen between Israel and Lebanon once the dust settles. Something drastic needs to happen soon to stop this ridiculous slaughter and destruction!

However, the many decades long sought after Eretz Israel project isn't somehow suddenly going to stop I'm afraid. These ceasefires are a bluff. Too much has been invested, by too many for way too long to suddenly go: "Let's stop fighting and go back to the drawing board, and try and get along."

Surely we have noticed by now that - of itself - a "ceasefire" is often (usually, nowadays?) an act of dishonest manipulation; merely a chance for one side (or both sides) to regroup, resupply, redeploy - and prepare for further war.

After all, it was only in 2025 that there was a highly destructive war of US-Israel versus Iran; which was followed by a months-long "ceasefire" and "negotiations"...

And we all know what happened soon afterwards.


The powers that purposively seek to begin and escalate multiple destructive global wars, are by-now far too entrenched and determined to be deterred or hampered by "ceasefires" - which they simply regard as strategic opportunities to further their agenda.

This is tough to listen to. My best suggestion is to play the first 6 or 7 minutes, and then decide if you want to hear the rest.

The decision to be made about the content may rest on

1. Whether Barnes is outright lying, or is exaggerating;
2. Whether Barnes has been told things which aren't true;
3. Whether the situation might actually be as serious as he's presenting.

I think Bill may be right. I am not claiming I can diagnose the man over the internet, but Trump has not been acting normal, and this looks like more than just his usual vanity and chaos. I do not subscribe to armchair diagnosis due to first hand knowledge of the loss of credibility due to a psychological diagnosis. That said, smart people are not immune from doing dumb things.

But you have to admit that the media / alt / social, and otherwise are pretty negative about everything. I mean it's a doomsday focus [worse than usual] and very bleak if you believe them. [and they never have solutions...]

I would like to think that even the WH emits a bit of propaganda. The problem with that idea is Trump looks too unhinged on social media. His advisors should be telling him to 'Knock It Off'. Do you really buy the proposed 'oh trump's advisors and cabinet are afraid to tell him bad news'. Like they are trying to frame him as a dictator who just wants to blow sh!t up.

I don't know what I don't know. But what I do know is the worst case scenario is a rare event. Most times things turn out okay at least.
