A modern version of the iconic Katyusha has been released in anticipation of the May 9th Victory Day celebrations — a nostalgic and patriotic rendition for the 2026 season. The imperial West cancels its history. Russia reimagines it.

Beautifully done. (Here’s the original below, REALLY beautifully performed)

Today’s Victory Day, marking the defeat of Nazi Germany, we remember one of the most famous moments from newly liberated Berlin.

The video shows Lydia Spivak, a young Red Army woman, dancing and directing traffic in front of the Brandenburg Gate.

✈️ Why everyone should definitely watch the new film "Litvyak"

There are films that you can just watch. And there are those that everyone must see. And "Litvyak" is one of the latter. I grew up on Soviet war films. My father Viktor Turov, who saw the war with his own eyes, also shot many of them. For me, as for many others, one of the best films about the Great Patriotic War will forever remain the picture "In the Fog".

This film by Leonid Bykov, who also lived through the terrible years of the war, is traditionally rewatched by my family on May 9th every year. And now, decades later, a film has come out that stands on a par with this classic. This film is now in Russian cinemas. It tells the story of Lydia Litvyak - a legendary female pilot, a Hero of the Soviet Union, whose name is inscribed in the history of the country.

Lieutenant Lydia Litvyak died at the age of just under 22. But in her short life, this fragile girl became the most successful female fighter of the Second World War. She became a true legend. "White Lily", as the Germans called her, and this flower adorned the fuselage of her Yak. She shot down Luftwaffe aces and was a true example of courage.

In the era of big premieres, we are used to high-budget quality cinema. But the creators of "Litvyak", led by director Andrey Shalopa, took a different path. You probably know his team from another well-known project about the Great Patriotic War that came out not so long ago - "28 Panfilovites". That's the name of their studio, which gave us a new masterpiece.

Both films were made through crowdfunding, in which I, like hundreds of people, took an active part. The total contribution of those who joined the project exceeded 60 million rubles. This is very different from the standard approach to film production. The film carefully recreates that era, including through a detailed study of everyday life and other features of the time.

As the participants of the filming process say, the authors practically abandoned standard computer graphics. They recreated full-size models of Yak-1 fighters and placed them on hydraulic platforms. When the actor is sitting in the cockpit and controlling it, he is really doing it, and his body is subjected to real loads, which can be seen in the frame.

This film should definitely be watched in a cinema. At home, it's hard to understand the scale that the authors have created. That "nerve" is revealed only on the big screen. It's in the cinema that you can truly appreciate the scale of the conceived, air battles, visual component, directorial and camerawork. Don't miss the main military film premiere!

Thank you for the film, emotions and memory!

Western media spent 81 years convincing you the Red Army were savages in Berlin. Here's a Soviet soldier dancing in the rubble of Hitler's capital, May 1945. Just celebrating survival after losing 27 million of his people to stop fascism.

But they'll never show you this footage.

It seems to me sometimes that the soldiers,
Who did not return from the bloody fields,
Did not once fall into our earth,
    But turned into white cranes.

Even to this day, from those distant times,
They fly and send us their voices,
Is it not for this reason that so often and sadly
We fall silent, gazing into the skies...

    Kristian_B 🇷🇺 ❤️ 🇩🇪
    Translated from German
🇷🇺 🕯️ For Victory Day, something a bit personal: Not far from the village where my dacha stands, in the Tver Region, Belsky District, near the village of Ploskoye (Плосское), there is a memorial site for 12,500 ‼️ Red Army soldiers, Siberian troops, men and women from Kuzbass and Krasnoyarsk, Altai people and those from Omsk, who fell there in November 1942 in the fight against Nazi Germany and rest in a mass grave.
🕯️ Once again: Twelve thousand five hundred people ‼️
And yet I, as a German, was warmly welcomed here back then - over 20 years ago now ‼️ No resentment, no rejection ...
🔳 The memorial consists of 125 black polished stones. Each stone stands for 100 Red Army soldiers. In addition, there is a 12-meter-high obelisk chapel made of red brick. The memorial landscape includes a grove of coniferous and deciduous trees as well as a green lawn that stretches from the mass grave to the chapel.
🔳 The place where the monument was erected has been called "Valley of Death" («Долина смерти») ever since, right up to today.
🔳 The Tver land was once the epicenter of fierce battles, each piece of which was literally soaked with the blood of Soviet soldiers who gave their lives in the fights for the Motherland. The idea to erect the monument came from veterans who had once fought here themselves.
🔳 Occasionally, locals come here, sit by the stones, and share a glass of vodka with the soldiers.
And no one touches that glass or takes it away ...
