An interesting video for a couple of reasons:

1. The guy in the video who was a Flat Earther had never in all his life seen the ocean before. (This is actually true for more Americans than we might assume.)
2. Then they set up a telescope to watch a sailboat steadily disappearing over the horizon. This convinced the Flat Earther that he'd been quite wrong — a change of view that really doesn't often happen. (And kudos to him, it has to be said.)

What's the consensus of FE on Avalon? I heard about this subject years ago and was willing to look into the subject providing the data was there, but all I could find was vague statements which quickly discouraged me from looking into it further. Fast forward a few years and I stumbled on "Flat Earth Dave", who seems to be the high priest of the FE movement.

Like most bizarre theories (like Paul McCartney being dead) I went into the subject with a sceptical mind, and felt the subject was more entertainment than anything worth taking seriously.

Then I found Flat Earth Dave, who provided the 'meat' of the subject I was looking for. FE Dave has a Youtube channel and regularly posts 1-2 hour interviews in which he presents his theories.

I'm suprised there was/is no FE thread on Avalon, because Dave is clearly knowledgeable. It's beyond my ability to summarise all his theories but his channel is there for those willing to look the subject with an open mind.

Sorry to appear abrupt - but it is a ludicrous idea that does not stand up to any scientific scrutiny whatsoever.

Flat earth is a psyop designed to mislead the alternative community as a whole.
It's what happens when paid intelligence operatives are actually dedicated to promoting false beliefs.

Besides the psyops and the grifting, I think some folks just prefer that life be simple.

They just want to trust their eyes, and all they’ve ever seen is that the ground seems to average out as flat. So likely no big-water sailors in that group.

They likely live in a flat sort of life, where some key things never get better.

As many have stated the concept of our planet being Flat, what do you think after flying internationally, observing the curve of our horizons on the ocean, look flat to you?
The moon & other planets in our solar system, none of these appear as flat planar bodies do they?
We can have sympathy for not just accepting what we are told, however this flat earth idea just crosses all lines of reason & long centuries of experience, yes?
