    Default Short Story Contest

Seraphim Blueprint, an energy healing organization, has sponsored two previous short story contests that resulted in published books on Amazon.com. I am coordinating the newest short story contest which has a deadline of December 31st, 2026. It is open to anyone worldwide, and first prize is $1,000 plus publication, second prize is $500 plus publication. Third prize is available to 13 fellow winners, who will also be published in the book. Short stories need to be about spirituality, and/or angelic themes, and limited to 3,333 words. They can be fiction or non-fiction. This is the last book published through the contest a few years ago. AI: Angel Intervention

Please private message me if you are interested in submitting a story. If you need translation to English, I can help with that. The 15 winners will be announced in mid-July of 2027.

You are welcome. I have received several inquiries from this announcement already, and would love to feature Avalonians in this coming book.

Thank you for posting about this Arcturian, it sounds really interesting and a great opportunity for some Avalonians to flex their creative writing skills! I'm curious if you are able to post any of the stories from the other books just as example reading. Of course, if you think it's more appropriate, I can purchase one of the books to get a better idea of what type of source material we should be shooting for if we are wanting to write a short story.

I will think about your request, and see if one of the short stories is appropriate to put in a post, or a series of posts. I am seeing this late my time, but you will hear back. And of course, you are welcome to purchase one or both of my previous short story collections on Amazon. Their subject matter is really quite diverse.

Dillttante requested a sample short story from a previous Seraphim Alliance published collection entitled AI: Angel Intervention.

I have chosen a nonfiction story published in the 2021 short story collection titled: "Becoming Enlightened". I am close friends with the person who wrote this story, but he chooses to remain anonymous. He is willing to be contacted through me, however. He wrote the story in segments making it easier for me to post parts over the next week or two. Thus you can comment on and/or savor each segment. Early in our friendship I accused him of being "enlightened" and he was astonished by my perception when nobody else had ever realized this, neither his parents nor other friends.

    Becoming Enlightened

    To Search is Divine…
"For as long as we have gazed at the stars, we’ve wondered at the vastness of the universe and questioned our nature. Where did we come from, and where are we headed?
For some, asking those questions implies the existence of a higher power, such as God, or All That Is. For others, such questions are moot because they don’t believe there is a God.
But if you do choose to believe in a Divine Being and want answers to your questions about life, and the universe, where do you look? There are so many paths, so many authoritative-sounding voices claiming to know the path to God.
They can’t all be entirely true, can they? But they can’t all be totally wrong, either. Isn’t it said there’s a thread of truth running through them all?
Undoubtedly, the nature of God is the great mystery of the ages. Just asking the right questions can be a challenge, not to mention finding answers that make sense when you put them all together.
But no matter how you may search, simply searching is essential. The searching is your path to answers. Searching for God is the way to enlightenment.

    Enlightenment and secrets about angels.
If it were you who had found answers, had found enlightenment, you’d want to tell people about it, wouldn’t you? Or would you keep it hidden, hiding your light under a bushel?
I ask because I’m that guy who found enlightenment. I’ve been enlightened for over 30 years, and I’ve largely kept it hidden.
I’ll tell you a bit about how I became enlightened and my thoughts on angels I encountered on the path. There are a few open secrets about angels, too. Hold on to your comfort blanket; you could find this to be a bumpy ride."

    Becoming Enlightened Short Story continued:

    Angels Have the Wow Factor
"Angels have different meanings to different people. Everyone who experiences angels sees them in a unique way through the lens of their own beliefs and perceptions. Some people believe in the concept of evil, or mischievous angels of some kind. Most people view angels as emissaries of God.
My perception is that angels are forces for good. Whatever angels tell you was thought up by God. Angels are like God in a form that we can easily understand. They’re not as blindingly intense as being in the direct presence of God, like a filter that lets you look directly at the splendour of a solar eclipse. Angels are God Lite.
You could also say of angels that when you meet one, there’s no doubt about what you’re seeing. It’s an angel, and you immediately go, “Wow!” An angel encounter will affect you for days and years afterwards.
And there are commonalities in the experiences of most people who have encountered positive angels. Something usual about angels, for example, is they seem to turn up at just the right moment. It’s as if they knew what was going to happen before it happened, and they appear at precisely the right time. Our perception of time is linear, but angels experience time differently and can see what’s happening along our time line and step in, so to speak. They’re undoubtedly masters of timing.
They usually bring a message, too. You don’t get an angel appearing just so they can socialize or chat to you about the weather or chastise you because you forgot to do the dishes. We can say that angels are highly intentional. And the message they bring is usually easy to understand and to agree with. It’s often profound and usually uplifting, like “Peace on Earth.” Angels would never drop by your place to trash-talk your ex, for example. Angels have class."

    Becoming Enlightened Short Story Continued:

    Enlightened but Not an Angel
"As an enlightened person, I’ve got a way to go before I pass out of this physical world and evolve into an angel. Just give me time—we all grow up eventually. For now, though, I’m just an ordinary dude who got enlightened early in life and has spent decades getting comfortable with it here in our physical world.
If you’re an angel, on the other hand, you’re living in a different place than this physical world. And although, as an angel, you don’t live on Earth with its wars and disasters and taxes, you can reach across to this physical place to offer messages of wisdom and hope. Then you go back to your spiritual home in a higher place without being embedded in this world, so to speak. Commuting is part of your job description.
Getting to the place where you become an angel yourself, that’s much further down the track. That’s for when we’ve left this physical realm behind and have moved on to the happiness and beauty of non-physical reality. Some people call that place ‘heaven’.
I, on the other hand, do live here. And along with all the blessings in my life, I also have to deal with the banal. I need to delete spam emails and pay my taxes and live with the new reality of the COVID19 pandemic, for example. To paraphrase Buddha, “Before enlightenment: cook meals, wash dishes. After enlightenment: cook meals, wash dishes.”

    Do Enlightened People Make Mistakes?
And here’s an associated question I’ve often asked myself: Which is more challenging, the effort it takes to become enlightened, or living as an enlightened person in an unenlightened world? Anyway, everyone who becomes enlightened—as we all eventually do—experiences enlightenment through their own perceptions.
So, I’m bound by the physical world and its realities, both good and bad, to put it in black and white terms. Often, though, it’s the grey areas that can present the real challenges. In some respects, it’s taken me years to learn to discern where I end and where other people begin, for example. That may sound absurd, but when you’re enlightened, you see everything as a whole. It’s fundamental to know that we each have our own everlasting sense of self, while, at the same time, we’re also part of everything.
So, in terms of spiritual maturity and living as a physical person, consider that much of what we do is influenced by the thoughts and actions of those around us. You can’t make the right choices all the time; you just have to make the best choices you can. In other words, I’m enlightened, but just like everyone else, I’ve made mistakes and I’ll continue to make mistakes. Mostly though, I seem to make fewer these days."
