1/3 of the aforementioned peat pots now contain pepper and tomato seedlings, with one or two more popping up every day.

Got me a chainsaw, can't wait to try it out this weekend. This weekend we will also be celebrating my helper's fourth birthday.

I am back in Sacramento where it is nice and warm. I have a wonderful apartment with great neighbors in an area I like. And, I just got approved for 30 percent savings on my electric bill!

Is this not a change from the negativity of the world

I have two experiences I would like to share

I meat a French Canadian girl who wanted to be a flight attendant many years ago , but needed to learn english

So I took the time to teach her , she got the job with CP airlines

She can now , read , write and speak english ( she put in the effort of course )

As well I met another girl who was very young but had no confidence in herself , her family was no help

I encouraged her , she found success and then took it from there , I had no need to further encourage her

She is now going for nursing on her own

    Proud of both

And I NEVER asked for anything in return

Its just good to be good

Bumping this old thread, just because.
It's up-lifting to share our good things, no matter how small, don't ya think?

I was happy to get an email today from the author, telling me that his book had finally come out.
He had contacted me a few years back, and I contributed some of my dad's info and writings about the merchant ships, (liberty ships) and his experiences on them during WWII.
Dad's ship was torpedoed and sunk in the arctic. So glad now I sat down with dad and typed out his story for him. He would have loved being in this new history book, as few knew the stories of the merchant mariners during WWII.

Right in front of my terrace, just an arm’s length away, a pair of turtle doves has been nesting for about three weeks now – normally they’re so shy that just looking at them from 20 metres away is enough to make them fly off.

Not so with my nesting pair – we look at each other without a hint of stress; they’re completely relaxed in my presence.

Having the trust of wild animals – a wonderful feeling.

We recently put our hummingbird feeder back up, and the darn birds came through snow to get to it! Pretty strange to get snow in May, but hey I'm not complaining after an especially dry and warm winter that we had here. There's been rain recently, sort of reminds me of the weather in the Willamette valley out of all places - but cloudy skies and light showers here in Colorado? Very rarely.

We're more likely to have large rolling thunderstorms, another favorite of mine. There's some thunder today which has been lovely. It scares one of my dogs, which I don't like so much, but oh well for a little bit of stormy weather at the end of the day.

    re: Meeradas and birds...

We went for a drive, when I finally got up the nerve to tell Val, my future wife, how I felt about her, and after I let her off at her building with the promise I would be back later, she went upstairs to her apartment. To her surprise, she found two white doves sitting on her dresser in her bedroom, cooing contentedly. She opened the window wide and shooed them safely away, not thinking much more about it.
Later that weekend, I surprise moved in with Val. As we were unpacking the car, the doves returned. This time the pair were stuck between the layers of glass in the living room window. We looked at them, they stared at us. We knocked on the window near the opening to the outside and the two white doves followed our prodding and found their way outside. It was comical watching the pair waddle their way between the panes, wedging themselves back to freedom.
No such incident ever occurred before or since.

We would both refer to that time in moments of dire need, convinced our relationship had been blessed by those doves, aka, by the fates themselves.

Had a wonderful incident occur last Friday, cleared my mind from a then-new worrisome personal problem.

So, I have been getting compression wraps (full 4-layer PROFORE kit) on one of my lower limbs for the past part year, and Wednesday (of 3 per week) was too tight.

I had been cautioned to cut off a wrap if it hurt too much or my toes turned blue, and I had done that once before for pain. But this time I sucked it up, went through a painful night where I got up on my feet 4x times which I learned (pee break) eased that pain and would then let me sleep for a bit.

Reason I did that was erroneous, I could have cut the wrap and kept things healthy, and still been fine for my Juxtafit* fitting the next day. *That’s a fabric and Velcro fitted unit (C$240.) that will let me self-compress.

But I toughed out the night, brain fart idea abt preserving then-dimensions for the measure.

Anyways, my nurse seemed scared on her Friday morning round, and I was worried for her. And it kept running round in my head, and I was fearful for my outcome too, a real complex of problems.

Here’s the gold lol. Fell off my cruiser skateboard Friday night, on the way to go play pool. Big surprise to me, as I am always very vigilant, but it happened.

Different injuries. Cut lip, 2 loose teeth (they have gone back in place now), 2 partially sprained wrists, maybe a cracked front rib but breathing and coughing was a b*tch for a couple days (as was getting in to and out of bed, and on to and off of the toilet lol.

That freed me, I think, from a possible kharmic burden situation, took my mind away. Am thankful, based on my pedestrian understanding.

Skin is getting lighter looking, was black back then. Will keep talking to Dog (God’s username &#128526.

All I got. Props to OP Thunder24, and yous other posters.
