    Toumaï, the New Ancestor

Quote In July 2001, in the Djurab Desert of northern Chad, a Franco-Chadian expedition headed by paleoanthropologist Michel Brunet discovered a seven-million-year-old fossil skull. After the discoveries of “Lucy” and then “Abel”, this major find has pushed the date for the earliest emergence of hominids back even further. Researchers have been studying the skull closely to determine the environment in which the hominid lived and to reconstruct his face – in short, to bring Toumaï, our most distant ancestor to date, back to life.

Ancient Human Species We Once Co-Existed With

Quote The story of human evolution may seem straightforward, but it's far from a linear progression. Join renowned paleoanthropologist, Ella Al-Shamahi as we explore the complexities of our past, meeting the fascinating human species we once shared the planet with, competed with, and interbred with, including neanderthals, enigmatic Denisovans and the mysterious Homo naledi.

Cool thread, Ewan. I’ve got both your vids cued up.

I think that the animal kingdom prepared bodies for us to incarnate here. Hard to guess when we stepped in, looking back at the known primate record.

For me, this jives with my belief that this physical universe was created as a place where we so-called sinners could fall out of company with our uncorrupted brethren in Heaven, and learn to get back to those vibes. Time scales are wack, granted, but I can accept that mystery.

There must be a parameter of some kind of stasis, in our spiritual path. Meaning time available for a physical universe to be prepared, and maybe some practice physical universes before. Not to mention our time in the original homeland, growing up through the mineral and plant and animal kingdoms.

Two expressions come to mind. “God’s mill grinds slowly”, and “The last shall be first, and the first shall be last”.

Ever had ideas, convictions, that spanned the ages of multiple universes? Takes some pressure off figuring out one lifetime.
