Many people view the Iranian situation as confined to the Middle East, but if Iran gets nuclear weapons, it changes the complexion of the world nuclear scene. I understand that if this is true, there are a lot of nuanced agendas being put forward, but (in my estimation), if Iran has a nuke or a nuclear device, the world is in trouble.

• It would signal the collapse of the global non-proliferation agreement, not just in the Middle East, but around the world

John Bolton, President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser-turned-adversary, has reached a plea deal over mishandling sensitive national security information, according to three sources familiar with the matter.

He intends to plead guilty to one felony count of illegal retention of sensitive national security information, according to one of the sources. He has also agreed to pay a more than $2 million fine, according to one of the sources.

A conviction on one count of illegal retention could come with a sentence between 0 and 60 months in prison.

The Justice Department declined to comment and referred CNN to the court docket, which indicates a hearing was set for June 26.

We also acknowledge and apploud that 8K Expeditions came out and now taken the initiative to organize an aerial search in an effort to locate him. But one difficult question remains: if the climber left behind on Everest had been a foreign client, would the response have been the same? Or would there have been a far greater and more immediate effort to search for and rescue them?

It is an uncomfortable question, but one that deserves to be asked.

For decades, Sherpas have been the backbone of Everest. They fix the ropes, break the trail, carry the loads, support clients, and make countless summit dreams possible. Much of the commercial climbing industry that once depended on Western guiding companies now relies heavily on the skill, strength, and sacrifice of Sherpa climbers and their companies. Yet when a Sherpa goes missing high on the mountain, where is that same urgency? Where is that same determination to bring him home?

Dawa Sherpa has now been missing on Everest for days. Beyond the business, the records, the permits, and the commercialization, this tragedy should remind us of a simple truth: a Sherpa life is worth no less than any other life on the mountain.

Everest should not place a different value on a human being based on nationality, wealth, or whether they are a client or a worker.

Every life matters equally. Every missing climber deserves the same urgency. Every family deserves answers.

Kyrgyzstan received 142 votes, while the Philippines received only 49.

The Iranians, sitting in one row ahead, were clearly delighted at the win.

The Central Asian nation now becomes a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2027-2028 term.

Most people in the west have never heard of the country, but the US was concerned about the vote, because Kyrgyzstani people have friendly, peaceful relations with their Chinese and Russian neighbors.

The US spends billions of dollars a year to demonize China and Russia. The UK voted with the US.

There was more bad news for the US-Israel bloc, too. Germany was defeated by Austria and Portugal in the European vote.

It's a most extraordinary story, barely believable. In all my knowledge of mountaineering history, I can only think of a small handful of other solo survival stories over the decades that might equal this.

As so many all over the world are saying, this is a testament to the enormous physical, emotional and spiritual strength of every Sherpa. A lot of things about how they are so often treated by wealthy arrogant western ego climbers might change for the better now.

The air leak that caused an emergency on the ISS space station has been fixed.

Roscosmos says NASA astronauts have returned to the ISS after earlier being moved into the docked Crew Dragon spacecraft because of an air leak.

The leak was reportedly found in two places in the Russian Zvezda module.

Roscosmos said repair work has been carried out, including applying the first layer of the two-component sealant Germetall-1 to one of the leak sites.

There are currently seven people on the ISS: three Russian cosmonauts, three American astronauts and one French astronaut.

Russian media has published audio from the developing emergency aboard the International Space Station.

NASA says astronauts were ordered to move into their spacecraft and prepare for possible evacuation after an air leak in the Russian segment worsened.

In the audio, ground control can be heard instructing the crew to execute emergency procedure “EMER 3.4 step 5” and begin deconfiguring, including opening hatches and reporting status after each one.
