Hancock has certainly been a great whistleblower and will be missed when he passes, but there is one area in which he has disagreed with other whistleblowers like Ben Davidson of SpaceWeatherNews, and leading "forbidden archeologists" like Dr. Robert Schoch and Brien Foerster (and more and more experts now, including some from NASA), and the late Dr. Paul la Violette.
...In that Hancock has persistently insisted that it was a comet or comets that were responsible for cataclysms such as the last big one that sunk Atlantis, and has resisted the explanations drawn from credible archeological, astrophysical and mathematical evidence that such cataclysms have consistently been caused by regular solar cycles (which include comet impacts, but are not confined to them).
That being the case, there is little chance that humanity at this point is going to be able to prevent being subject once again to a near Extinction Event, coming soon courtesy of the current 12,000 year solar cycle/geomagnetic pole reversal.
...Due to culminate sometime in the 2040s with a micronova and geomagnetic excursion of the continents, according to the most credible and current data.
...Which is slowly being leaked out now in the MSM, though in confusing and often obfuscating bits.
(Although apparently there was more than one cataclysm that sunk parts of Atlantis at different times, and dangerous technology was responsible in part for that in part, as well as comet impact. )

Thank you for posting this. Whatever any of us makes of Graham Hancock's conclusions, there is something genuinely moving about a man facing major surgery choosing to tell his story in his own words. After 30 years of work, he has absolutely earned that right.

Watching this, I kept returning to one key idea which is that sincerity and correctness are two completely different things. In my eyes, Hancock is a true believer, not a con man and the grifter label has always struck me as a lazy critique. His passion is undeniable.

However, sincerity tells us about the man, not the claims. From my perspective, his theories must still stand or fall on physical evidence. As a researcher who built his career challenging orthodoxy on evidential grounds, it would actually do his work a disservice to exempt it from that very same standard.

Ultimately, what stays with me isn't any single theory but the fundamental question he poses. How confident should we really be that our picture of the deep past is complete? That question was worth asking back in 1995 when Fingerprints of the Gods put him on the map and it remains worth asking today.

Wishing him a steady surgeon and a speedy recovery.

His contributions have been substantial, but his focus was largely sociology and journalism.
He had no formal training in archeology, astrophysics, mathematics, geology, etc..
Unlike the aforenamed experts whose credible, painstakingly gathered evidence he has apparently frequently been either unaware of or contradicted, concerning the MAIN cause of ancient cataclysms.
...Which is unfortunate, as it has further obfuscated that important subject for the public, ie, the likely primary cause of coming cataclysms.
...That being the solar cycles.

Sometimes, when we start going for something too much, we give too much away to the stress and to some form of "dead past" that can not come back.
I have had the experience myself while delving to deep past when we were not yet "human" for some years before I could "turn the tide around" and focus fully on "greater future",
which is ultimately the most important.

No matter how great or good was "the past" we can not return to it or change it now.

The best possible life to live here with meaning is qualified by presence, our presence in it all.

So how "important" is the knowledge and greater realisation of our history , hundreds of thousands of years and more of gnostic civilisations on Earth ?

Very important. It's important especially for the Western part of civilisation trapped for several thousands of years in "creation paradigm of kndergarten maths".

The installation of conviction lead to evolution of "homo convicticus" ,
the agreeable "kindergarten man" of simple but honest faith , with no complicated thought to worry about.

In the meantime , ancient Indian and later Arabian mathematicians and astronomers described the history and time of the Universe in very long numbers.

7 Days of Brahma equal the Age of our Visible Universe.

Even while we are on Day 7 , the day will last long enough for us to grow and expand on the idea of civilisation.

We may be lost or feel forgotten and waiting for Signs . It's clear that most of our ancestors in history turned to dust were also waiting for Signs, buildings Arcs , replicas of Biospheres and Flying Domes,
and believed in technologies like "Allahudins Lamp" that were since replaced with Alexa and Siri.

We may be touching our deepest dreams on the left tip of hand and our most futuristic ideas on our right outstretched arm finger tip
but we have never "covered it all".
