Children in Cuba are dying amid acute shortages of essential medical supplies caused by US-imposed economic sanctions, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk has said.

The island nation has endured daily blackouts and severe fuel deficits in recent months after Venezuela, once Havana’s main oil supplier, stopped crude shipments under pressure from the US in early 2026. This was preceded by the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by American commandos in January.

US President Donald Trump has since repeatedly stated that he intends to “take” Cuba “one way or another.”

Turk described the plight of ordinary Cubans as “unacceptable,” warning that “children are dying because doctors lack access to essential medical supplies and medicines,” as quoted in a statement issued on Monday. According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), infant mortality in Cuba has doubled to 9.9 per 1,000 births, with childhood cancer survival rates down from 85% to 65% since the US imposed a fuel blockade on the Caribbean country.

“Critical medical services such as oncology, dialysis, and maternal health are under severe strain,” with essential medicines in “critical short supply,” the report warned.

International humanitarian efforts to alleviate the situation are being hampered by US extraterritorial sanctions, with private companies refusing to deliver such shipments for fear of running afoul of them, OHCHR stated.

“Such severe sanctions packages that target entire sectors of an economy and produce broad, indiscriminate and harsh effects on populations are incompatible with basic principles of international human rights law,” Turk charged.

Last month, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla accused the US of meting out “collective punishment” in that Cubans are being subjected to conditions “that violate their human rights and cause pain, suffering, and anguish.”

Axios, citing several anonymous US officials, reported in late May that the White House was looking to further ramp up the pressure on Cuba in the hope that worsening economic conditions would eventually lead to regime change.

Russia, China, Mexico, and several other countries have been supplying Cuba with humanitarian aid. Moscow sent a shipment of around 700,000 barrels of crude oil in late March.

The US and Israel have carried out recent strikes in Iran and Lebanon in an effort to sabotage the ongoing peace talks, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson has told RT.

On Wednesday local time, the US struck Qeshm Island and targets in southern Iran in response to the crash of a US AH-64 Apache attack helicopter off the coast of Oman – an incident President Donald Trump blamed on Iran. Tehran, however, has refused to confirm that it was responsible for the crash.

Johnson argued that Trump’s rationale for the latest escalation “doesn’t make sense,” especially since both pilots of the helicopter survived.

“If they are alive, why does Donald Trump launch strikes on Iran when they are supposedly in the midst of peace talks? The only reason I can come up with is that he did it deliberately to sabotage the talks,” he said.

Trump has been pressured by “the Zionist crowd” and pro-Israel politicians such as Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Israel, Johnson said.

“They are insistent on destroying Iran. They don’t want a deal with Iran,” he stated.

Johnson said Israel’s airstrikes on Beirut on Sunday were also aimed at provoking a conflict with Iran.

“Too much progress was being made during the peace talks for the neocons and for Israel, so they did everything in their power to sabotage it. I think this is going to lead to a new round of escalation that can go on for a week or two,” he said.

I continue to figure that the person appearing as President Trump now is not the same person as we elected in 2016, 2020 and 2024. The current Trump is shorter and temperamentally less well suited to being President. Something changed, perhaps a year ago.

The real changes, driven by deeper powers, continue. (If I had RunningDeer's graphical talents, I'd show a smilie of a cow crossing its fingers hooves.)

The war in the Middle East may be essential, in the view of those deeper powers, to take out the two strongest, globalist controlled, regimes in that region, who have been leveraged since World War II to create endless wars and control vast flows of money and energy, at a control point critical to the world's economy and finances. It might well be useful, to the deeper powers that be, to set up Trump and Netanyahu to take the blame, in the eyes of many, for that war, as a way of providing cover for the real dynamics at play here.

Here's what is so glaringly obvious about 'Promethean Updates' (PU) being a psyop is that they never acknowledge that USA is run or controlled by Israel. A fact that's really obvious to the rest of the world. PU is set up as a big distraction, stringing along Trump disappointees with hopium.

For example, in BMJ's #2865 post on the PU, a claim is made that USA is now shaping its own strategy, not Israel's. Claims that misrepresent the obvious reality are not only insults to our intelligence, but highly suspect of hidden agendas.

It's well known by now that Israel has set up troll farms online to discourage criticism of zionism & Israel. They certainly try to also discourage criticism of Trump, because Trump is Israel's main tool at this time. The pay is pretty good, something like $7,000 a post. Could be much higher for hopium distraction channels like PU.

I admit that I've never had the patience to watch a whole PU video, because after 5 minutes of the cumulative absurdity of their non-factual claims and word salads, it's just way too irritating. Same thing for flat earth claims. The absurdity hurts. These psyops are designed to derail online conversations, and waste everybody's time.

So, here's an idea. Since PU isn't making any concrete statement of what Trump is actually saying, but only theories of 5D strategies behind the scenes, without any concrete proof whatsoever, then these PU videos don't belong on this thread. Because this thread is about what Trump is actually doing in the real world, now. So just create a new thread for posting these PU videos, that could be titled something like "Promethean Updates Theories".

My view is that this thread is not just about what Trump publicly says or does, but more extensively about what his Administration is doing, publicly or otherwise. That's a more complex, and often apparently self-contradictory, topic. When one finds oneself in a discussion that extends beyond where one thinks it should, or that considers views that one thinks are wrong, to the extend that participating in the discussion is frustrating, then sometimes one has a choice of letting the discussion be as it is anyway, or of separating from the discussion, or of asking the discussion to occur elsewhere. If the discussion persists in such a manner and place, despite your requests otherwise, and if it's not your final authority to decide the matter, then one might best recognize and accept that sometimes things don't go down the way you'd like.

Here’s the new information from DNI.

They admit that the US built and fund/support, over 40 labs in Ukraine, which house dangerous pathogens, which Russia claim are being used for bioweapon development.

They are kind of admitting Putin and Russian MIL were right, to a degree.

To me, I think this is the beginning stages of public disclosure about Covid being a US-funded experiment, and it very well may lead back to the labs in Ukraine. Some of these US-funded labs were studying bat coronaviruses in Ukraine, as early as 2014 via USIAD Project PREDICT.

We have to tell the world that COVID was man-made, and we have to tell the world who made it. I think that process is now underway.

For those who are unaware, I’m the guy that the media crucified in 2022, for reporting on the US-funded biolabs in Ukraine.

Fact-checkers and dozens of MSM outlets, like WaPo, claimed I was an “extremist” and “QAnon figure”, for accurately reporting on these labs, which they said did not exist whatsoever.

In other words, the US government, in conjunction with their lapdogs in the media and social media, coordinated together to censor and smear me, for reporting on completely accurate information. I had my life ruined and spent the last 4+ years living in absolute hell. Meaning my Constitutional Rights have been violated by elements within the US intelligence community.

Attached is a thread I made when Elon let me back on Twitter, with a sample of some of the many defamatory articles written about me. I don’t know how or when, but one day, I will be compensated for the wrong that was done to me.

I will have justice.

Personally I'm amazed that there isn't a stronger outcry on the catastrophic consequences of the Trump-Netanyahu war on Iran. If these two deliberately wanted to demolish western concepts of democracy, to be replaced by their ill-conceived oligarchies, they couldn't not have done it better than by starting this war.

Obviously, the Trump regime couldn't care less about rising prices everywhere, unaffordable housing, demolished countries & massacred civilians in the middle-east, and the very high likelihood of widespread famine. Who can be blamed for concluding that the Trump-Netanyahu regime is part of the cabal seeking major world instability and depopulation.

Do the american people hold the key to stopping this catastrophy? If they don't revolt en masse now against the Trump oligarchy, by means of organized country-wide protests, they may be unable to effectively do so in the future as total surveillance and censorship apparatus is being installed as we speak. Perhaps what's holding many people back is the (dwindling) hope that Trump has a helpful plan up his sleeve. Fact is, Trump doesn't care about the people, he's said it himself on TV.
