The video of this post is here.

A truly comprehensive perspective is not confined to our physical universe, which is partly why few scientists develop comprehensive perspectives. There is a mountain of evidence that physical reality and our senses (or extensions of them) tell only part of the story of our existence. I have constantly cautioned people about studying spiritual literature before they have had paranormal experiences. It makes all the difference in the world to have paranormal experiences before beginning to explore spiritual literature.

I’ll begin with some of my paranormal experiences or those that I witnessed. I was raised to be a scientist from the cradle. I read all of the paleontology books in my grammar school’s library by fifth grade.

The first crack in the façade of establishment science for me happened at age 12, when my family changed its diet from processed food to whole food to save my father’s health, which resulted in a health miracle. A generation later, after my radicalization, I learned that the book that inspired that change was banned in the USA for being contrary to biomedical dogma, but that book was right, dogma was wrong, and that book’s advice forms orthodoxy’s first line of defense today. I am surprised that I lived to see that. But I had not learned that about the medical establishment by the time I was 16. I was on the scientific track in school, I got my first energy dreams when my mentor’s engine began making the news, and I was developing a no-nonsense approach to the world.

Then came Silva Mind Control. My father had the family take the class in December 1974. The class was presented scientifically, as a way to consciously control our brainwaves. When awake, our brainwaves operate at about 21 cycles per second. The Silva course was 40 hours long at the time, comprised of about half lecture and half what I now know to be meditation exercises, accompanied by tape recordings that helped us attain a meditative state. Back then, galvanic-skin-response technology was becoming popular, so that people could witness evidence of their brain’s relaxation into slower brainwaves. Attaining the alpha state, at about half the cycles per second of the normal waking state, was a goal of our exercises. In deep sleep, the delta state predominates, and it can even go below one cycle per second.

We took the course over one week: four hours each evening on the weekdays, and two ten-hour days on the weekend. During one exercise, I fell asleep. During our exercises, the instructor told us that if we fell asleep, three touches on our shoulder would wake us up. All that I remember is being shocked awake by what I learned was his third touch, and I did not awaken for to the first two. That was my only warning about what was coming.

The meditation exercises became increasingly active and involved, as we imagined the mental exploration of inanimate objects, then plants, animals, and then people. The class’s final exercise was breaking into groups of three to “work cases.” The process was for each of us to identify a person with health problems, as our “case.” The point was to diagnose their problems and imagine their getting better. The process was for one person to act as the psychic (it went by another name in the class), and another person would read the information off the card that the third person had completed about their case.

My case was easy to choose. My first employer, Isaac Brown, was injured on the same job that I cracked my ribs on, which ended my employment. Isaac got a nail in his boot that pierced his foot. But Isaac had diabetes and lost the feeling in his foot. He did not know that there was a problem until his infected foot virtually exploded one day, and he lost half of his foot. Isaac was black, from the poor part of Ventura. There was not a black family on my end of town in those racist days. I have an eidetic memory, and I still vividly recall seeing him write my paycheck one day. He lost the end of his right index finger in a likely accident, and that finger ended at the second knuckle. I remember watching his splayed hand write that check. But I did not even think of that finger as I wrote out my card, which I think only listed his diabetes.

My case was the first one that my group worked. The psychic was a white woman, probably around 30 years old. The class was held in Santa Barbara, an hour’s drive from Ventura. The way that cases were worked was that I gave my card to the moderator as the psychic closed her eyes and went into her meditative state. The only information on my card was Isaac’s name, age, sex, and city of residence. Being a scientist-in-training, I made sure to hide my card until I presented it to the third person, a man, who then read off: “Isaac Brown, male, age 43, who lives in Ventura, California.”

The Silva course was not marketed as a way to become psychic, but as a way to improve memory and creativity. I can’t say why that woman took the course, but I doubt that it was to become a psychic. The first ten seconds after that man read my card to the woman changed my life forever. Within a few seconds, the woman said, “I get the impression that he is black.” Then she held up her right hand and bent her index finger, while saying that he was missing the end of that finger. I did not write that on the card.

In that instant, I knew that the materialistic models of consciousness were false. There was no way that that women would have known a poor black man who lived an hour’s drive away. I sat there, stunned. I don’t even remember if she properly diagnosed Isaac’s diabetes, I was so floored by her statement about Isaac’s finger. I would never see the world in the same way after the first ten seconds of the first case that I participated in.

A little while later, it was my turn. There are many psychic techniques, and mine that day was the mentally put on the “head” of the person in my case, and feel what she felt. It can feel like you are making it up, but I went with what my imagination told me, and I said that she had a stroke that paralyzed her right side. I was right.

Back then, when people took the Silva Course once, they could sit in on future classes for free. One of my two best friends when I grew up took the course soon afterward. All sorts of psychic events happened. Our instructor taught us to read auras, and we all could. We would all see the same thing, such as what color the aura was (they could be gold, red, blue, etc.) and where it was most predominant (around the head, arms, etc.). My mother eventually got into reading auras. My father got into all aspects of the paranormal, and he was a highly gifted psychic. All humans have this ability, but it can atrophy from disuse.

That friend and I worked cases in my home one day, and I read one of his relatives. As I did the reading, my back suddenly arched like I was a hunchback. It stayed that way for the entire reading, and it was highly evident how I was hunched over. It felt very strange. When I got done, I asked my friend if it meant anything, and he replied that that aged relative was hunched over and could not stand straight. I had many events like those in those days.

Five years after my first paranormal experiences, Brian O’Leary had the same experience while performing the same exercise. It ruined him as a mainstream scientist, as he could no longer drink the Kool-Aid of materialism, which is the religion of mainstream scientists. What we did is called “remote viewing” today. Before Brian’s life-changing experience, Brian watched some of the world’s leading scientists spend their afternoons ridiculing accounts of the paranormal as they sipped their sherry. They were high priests who were defending their religion. Brian then knew better, and his remote-viewing experience was the beginning of the end of his career as a mainstream scientist.

I soon began reading spiritual literature, and my first influences were Seth, channeled by Jane Roberts, Richard Bach (who attended a Seth session, trying to understand how he wrote Jonathan Livingston Seagull, as a voice in his head told him that name as it dictated the book’s story to him), and I spent two years reading the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ before going to sleep each night. The sense that I got of Jesus in that book was that he was a mystical master who in no way wanted to be worshipped. His mission was to show what the human potential is and remind us where we came from, as we are all divine children of the Creator.

When I went to the university, my roommate in the dorm, Robert, got cat-scratch fever in his arm and was about to be operated on. For ten minutes each day, for a week, I did “laying of hands” on his arm. When he saw his pessimistic doctor the next week, his cat-scratch fever had almost disappeared, to the doctor’s amazement. Almost 40 years later, Robert had me work on his son, who had a traumatic brain injury, and I did so each night for a week.

Immediately after college, Robert took Silva, and I am close friends with the instructor of Robert’s class. Robert and I were roommates in LA for a year, and one day I proposed an experiment that I had heard of. I bought two identical tomatoes. I put each in a glass of water overnight, but for one of them, Robert and I went into our meditative state and touched the outside of the glass that held a tomato. We mentally projected energy into that tomato. The next morning, I took the tomatoes out of their glasses and set them on a paper towel in our kitchen. After two weeks, the control tomato was a rotten mess. The tomato that we projected energy into looked nearly the same as on the first day. That tomato eventually began to shrivel as it lost its water. I finally threw it away after two months, as it had mummified, and finally got some mold on it. I eventually learned that our experience, of “mummifying” fruit, was typical.

That summer, I tried it myself with two identical strawberries. I did not put them in water, but just held the one that I projected energy into. I set them on my water container (I have drunk purified water since I was a teenager). When I came home from work the next day, the control strawberry was a puddle, while the one that I projected energy into looked the same. The next day, my “energized” strawberry had disappeared from atop my water container, and I guessed that Robert threw it away. A week later, I moved that water container, and sitting behind it was my strawberry. Robert must have knocked it off. Like that tomato, that strawberry still looked pretty good, and it was slowly mummifying like that tomato did. Brian did similar experiments with Marcel Vogel, and had similar results. What we experienced was typical.

In the Silva class, we were taught that for people terminally ill, working a case could either result in dramatic improvement and even recovery, or the subject would die in three days, as they used that energy to make a peaceful transition. I worked four cases like that over a couple of years, and they all died in three days. I had a hard time with that, feeling like an angel of death, and I did not do any more cases like that.

But in my LA days, I joined meditation and spirituality groups, and witnessed some amazing events. One old woman bent a spoon with her mind at one gathering. The woman who hosted that gathering became a close friend and even one of my investors with Dennis.

One day, that friend told me that a girl was dying of leukemia at a local hospital, and that several people would attempt to heal her. I went after work. The girl was 17, and her spleen was a big lump in her side. There were maybe five of us that evening, and we began laying on of hands, one at a time. When it was my turn, it was a highly emotional event. I went into my state, placed my hands on her side, and projected with all of my might. When in that state, our eyes often go into REM sleep mode, which I always did. It was an overwhelming experience for me, as my eyes went crazy and I felt heat pouring through my hands. One of the other healers said that I got “into it.” The girl remarked on how she felt the heat pour into her from my hands. I don’t scoff at videos of people who can create fire with their hands. I consider them adepts. I returned each evening, but it never felt like it did that first time. Something happened that first time, and while I later visited her, a whisper in my head said that she was dying. When I returned on the third day, her room was empty, as she died that afternoon.

I became close friends with her mother, Lori, for the rest of her life. I felt like a failure with her daughter, but Lori said that after my session, the atmosphere in that hospital room transformed from a place of fear into a place of peace and light, and her daughter had a peaceful transition. Lori had a fractured neck vertebra from an automobile accident that did not heal properly. I did several hands-on sessions on her neck over the next year, and when I last saw her, a decade later, she said that she always thought that I had healed her neck, which healed after our sessions. A few years after her daughter died, Lori told me that she did not even believe in reincarnation, but her daughter seemed to reincarnate as her niece.

On the way out to Boston, to chase Dennis Lee across the continent, I spent time with friends and family in Southern California, and I attended my first channeling session, by somebody else who channeled Seth, in which the channeled entity read my mind. He let me know it in a way that entertained us. I attended about 50 sessions by that channel in later years, and the channeled entity never did that again: he did not need to. It was his gift to me for my enthusiasm.

I met my future wife in another otherworldly way, as I recognized her in the instant that we met, and I told her so. I have not done that in my lifetime, before or since. She lived two blocks from where my first girlfriend lived, in one of the many larger-than-life moments of my lifetime. That was one of many instances of my “friends” at work.

I befriended a different channel, and one day the entity told me that I had a strong contract for a once-in-a-lifetime event, and it happened later that day. I had an earlier session with that channel, in which the channel asked to realign my spirit with my body. When I assented, I was immediately overcome with what I now know was extreme vertigo, which is the only time in my life when I had vertigo.

I was around many events like those in those years, but the most spectacular for me was the voice in my head that changed my studies from science to business, as it answered a desperate prayer. Eight years later, it came through again when desperately asked for, which sent me straight into Dennis’s company. Even I sometimes have a hard time believing that happened. I recently discussed the third time that I heard from that voice, amid amazing paranormal experiences, and I was not happy with the voice that time.

In 2005, I made my first visit to Mount Adams to watch UFOs fly over, and I was treated to a spectacular display in which the craft seemed interact with the mind of my host. The next year, a craft seemed to interact with mine.

In 2010, I was invited by one of Brian’s colleagues to swim with wild dolphins in Hawaii, and after a few minutes of my Wade’s World talk (and my guide asked me to lower my voice), the dolphins arrived for a spectacular encounter that my guide had not witnessed in 20 years of guiding dolphin encounters. I think that dolphins like the idea of free energy. I hung out with the dolphin community a little, they considered dolphins their friends, and I heard accounts of how they read minds.

My otherworldly “friends” have not let me off easy in this lifetime, with horrors and miracles that I can tell that they orchestrated. It is what what I call being on “special assignment” looks like. I have no regrets, but it has been far from easy.

This post recounts only some of the paranormal experiences that I have had in my lifetime. I have not attended a channeling session in more than 30 years, and it has been at least 20 since my last psychic reading. On my desk is my tarot deck (which Dennis’s assistant introduced me to). Robert’s widow wants a reading, as she says that I performed an amazingly prescient reading for her a generation ago. I just read the cards.

For more than 50 years, I have had all manner of paranormal experience, and I have witnessed many others. It was only after that initial experience in the Silva class that I began exploring spiritual literature. There is actually a great deal of scientific evidence of the paranormal, and that comes next.

P.S. I am not kidding: just as I finished readying this this post for publication, my wife came into my office with the news that a close friend died today, a friend that I was thinking of just yesterday (he comes up on my desktop/screensaver, along with 4,000 other photos), whom I wanted to see one day soon, if I could afford it. I strongly doubt that this was a “coincidence.” Then, literally a few minutes later I got an email from a pal with overwhelming synchronicity, both the good and the bad. Something is up with my life right now. My “friends” are active, and I am almost bracing myself for what comes next.

    Best,

    Wade

The video of this post is here.

In my previous post I discussed various paranormal phenomena that I have experienced. Pretty much everybody in the free-energy field that I respected had similar experiences. Brian O’Leary and I had nearly identical initial paranormal experiences, for one of the many strange parallels of our journeys.

Brian approached the paranormal as a scientist. There is a great deal of evidence for the paranormal, but it is pretty easy to have paranormal experiences, which is superior to any scientific investigation. Knowledge comes from experience. But for all of the spectacular paranormal experiences that I have had, I have long read of the paranormal experiences of others. And they did not have to be classic paranormal experiences to be mind-blowing and life-changing. For instance, what can we call my friend’s underground technology show? He watched antigravity and free-energy demonstrations, which defied orthodox physics. Can that be called paranormal?

In Robert McLuhan’s masterpiece, he discussed how the issue of life after death captivated him. He began his journey as an agnostic, but he felt that the issue was so important that it merited investigation. He saw many accounts of debunkers who denied the paranormal and life after death, and he decided to get to the bottom of the issue. He expected to see claims of the paranormal and reports of life after death that the debunkers expertly invalidated. Not only did McLuhan gradually become appalled by the slipshod and often irrational work of the debunkers, but he soon realized that there was a mountain of scientific investigation of the paranormal, going back to the 1800s, which the debunkers pretended did not exist. Many prominent scientists performed those investigations, on topics such as life after death and reincarnation.

McLuhan’s book covers many of those investigations, and I have many books in my library on those investigations (such as this one), which chronicled investigations from the 1800s to the 21st century. But as I always say, I encourage people to have their own paranormal experiences before they embark on such endeavors.

One area of particular interest for me has been the near-death experience (“NDE”). Raymond Moody coined the term NDE, and I am not sure when I became aware of his work, but it was likely in the 1980s. I had some familiarity with his work when I read Dannion Brinkley’s Saved By the Light in the mid-1990s. That began my NDE studies, and I have many books in my library on NDEs, from first-person accounts of their NDEs to scientific investigations. I have read hundreds of NDE accounts. I have read every account in this repository, for instance, which is considered the best in the world. I have regularly visited that repository since the early 2000s, to keep up on the reports.

One striking aspect of NDE accounts is that they happen to everybody, no matter how young, old, religious, or materialist they are. Through my studies, the sense that I have of NDEs is that they generally are a way for a soul to “reset” its earthly personality that lost its way and was not achieving its life’s plan. An NDE jolts them back on track. People who have NDEs become better people. They realize that life is about love, they no longer care about careers, material prizes, or status. Their marriages often fail because their spouses cannot handle their new orientation.

Moody’s latest book was unique in his canon, in that it presented what could be called scientific evidence of the reality of NDEs, generally when other people participated in the events.

Many accounts reported one of the most startling aspects of the afterlife: time and space do not exist there like they do here. Time and space define our reality, but they have little or no relevance beyond physical reality, which is hard to imagine while we live in physical reality. Our brains are very limited in what they can process.

But what comes through very clearly in most NDE accounts is that love beyond mortal comprehension is the like air that is breathed on the other side. That is the aspect of passing over that I look forward to the most.

Just like how Seth read my mind when I met him, as he established his bona fides with me, channels will often do something that is physically “impossible,” in order to get people over the hump beyond thinking that it is all imagination or fraud. When the original Michael channeling group began using a Ouija board to establish contact, Michael made a demonstration to establish his reality. They were meeting in the basement of a house, with all doors and windows closed, and Michael said that he would demonstrate his reality. Instantly, the room became 20 degrees Fahrenheit colder and a wind blew through the basement. It was an “impossible” event that Michael only performed once, as Seth did with me.

Those mountains may not be enough to convince a “skeptic,” but nothing is for them. I have heard accounts of “skeptics” who witnessed dramatic paranormal events, and it freaked them out and they fled. It was like their world ended.

In finishing, there is a mountain of scientific evidence of the paranormal, if people only seek it.

    Best,

    Wade

Default Re: WADE FRAZIER : A Healed Planet

    From Substack:

The video of this post is here.

In this post I will discuss various spiritual influences over my journey. Make no mistake: without my spiritual background and training, my radicalizing journey might not have happened at all.

In my case, and for most of my fellow travelers, the paranormal experiences came first, and the study later, which is how I recommend that people explore this issue. I already covered my first paranormal experiences and my early days of study, with Seth, the Aquarian Gospel, and Richard Bach. Those were worthy early influences, and I remember trying to square them with my business studies, which could be seen as foolish, but which actually led to my journey and key understandings.

In my days in Los Angeles, I joined spiritual groups, which was one of my refuges from the hell of living in LA, in a career that I would eventually learn was worthless. I read the LA Times each morning and eventually subscribed to Christian Science Monitor, thinking that I was getting something a little more thoughtful. I had a lot to learn. But I did not expand my spiritual library much in those days. I read Paramahansa Yogananda’s autobiography in my LA days, which began my interest in Eastern religions. I went through my “Tibet phase” in the 1990s and once heard the Dalai Lama speak. But Seth, the Aquarian Gospel, and Bach were my biggest influences then. Life was about love and truth for me in those days. I got away to the Sierra Nevada Mountains as often as I could, and nearly died twice in an hour one day, atop a mountain, when I had another strange experience that I think was paranormal.

Soon before that voice led me straight into Dennis Lee’s company, I had a larger-than-life event of rescuing a hooker from her customer. I think that it was a final “test” from my “friends.”

My journey before meeting Dennis prepared me for my wild ride. Without my spiritual training and study, I would have never met Dennis, and I shudder to think about how my life would have turned out. I would likely be some Boy Scout scientist who never really tried to make a dent, and who likely went through a miserable midlife crisis who never pursued his energy dream. My “friends” knew what they were doing.

It was only when I began working at that medical lab while Dennis was in jail, as I began to dig out of my financial abyss, that I began my days of study, which have yet to end and will likely continue to my death. I attended Seth channelings every couple of weeks and I began to become a regular at mystical bookstores.

I subscribed to my first channeling magazine (Gene Roddenberry subscribed to it), which was how I became friends with another channel (my vertigo and “once-in-a-lifetime” events, etc.), and for the next 20 years or more, I subscribed to channeling magazines (Connecting Link, Sedona Journal of Emergence). I first encountered Michael Roads’s book after seeing a blurb from Bach on its cover. I met Roads in the mid-1990s. Michael’s visit to two future Earths, one of which chose love, and the other didn’t, was very influential to me. I have known psychonauts who have taken similar journeys, and I don’t regard Roads’s tale as fiction.

While writing this post, I visited the four bookcases in my garage that host my religious/mystical/channeled/fringe books, and I have read so many great works over the decades, which includes more than 100 channeled books. Zoosh, channeled by Robert Shapiro, was the only channel that I saw that dealt with the global elite much, and Zoosh called them the Sinister Secret Government. I found myself disagreeing with some of it, and channeled work can have varying quality, in my opinion. I had a private session with Zoosh in the mid-1990s, and he gave me some good advice on my coming writing efforts (“don’t name names!”).

Three bodies of channeled work in particular have been the most influential for me, and I’ll briefly discuss them.

Seth – Channeled by Jane Roberts, Seth was my first channeled influence. Seth himself was quite a rascal, always being funny. When I sat in on dozens of channeled sessions by man who channeled Seth (until Roberts’s camp, even Jane herself, threatened him with legal action, which is a long, sad story), Seth was always the life of the party. Seth discussed the nature of reality, and stressed that there were “no divisions of the self.” Seth had high regard for all people (but called his last incarnation a “fat head”).

Jane sometimes channeled “Seth Two,” who was Seth’s higher self. Seth Two was not used to having a body like Seth was, and he said that his joy created universes. In the early days, Jane’s husband, Robert Butts, tested Seth’s paranormal abilities, as documented in the early books, and Seth performed well. Seth said that the bedrock of all realities is “units of consciousness,” and that what is called Creation Seth called “The All That Is.” Before I really knew that there was a medical racket or discovered Naessens and Rife, Seth described pleomorphic viruses (they change from one virus to another, depending on the host’s mentality), and he stated that our medical systems produce as much illness as they “cure.”

Seth said that we live in just one probable reality of many, and that there are many versions of each of us, living on other probable realities, learning our lessons.

Michael – Channeled by various people, Michael described seven planes of creation beyond the godhead (“Tao”), and how physical reality was the “lowest” of the planes, and part of physical reality’s purpose was to provide a place for souls to grow and learn. Everything comes from the Tao and returns to the Tao, enriched by the experience of passing through the planes.

Michael’s emphasis was on the evolution of souls through the physical plane, and through the lifetimes of its “fragments” (AKA Earthly personalities), souls grow from infant to old, to learn what they came for on the physical plane, which teaches lessons that cannot be learned anywhere else in Creation. The soul plans each lifetime and gives each Earthly personality attributes that define it. Each attribute has a pole that represents love or fear. Michael described the system of karma that ensures that souls learn their lessons. The general idea is that karma is created when one person harms another, generally by violating their free will. That karma is balanced over the lifetimes. But Mr. Professor (Wayne) and I seem to have a bond of philanthropic karma, which is far more pleasant. Michael would call Wayne and I “task companions,” as we came together to do a job. Our job was a big one, to put it mildly, and I have called Wayne, myself, Dennis, Brian, and others in my journey as people who are here on “special assignment.” Our lives have often been unbelievable.

The journey through physical reality seems to be just one way to grow souls, but it teaches lessons that cannot be learned anyplace else, which are primarily related to having physical bodies, which cannot be done on any other plane. Michael said that most souls on Earth have chosen to grow through pain, and most souls never awaken past their conditioning while on Earth, digest their lessons between lives (on the astral plane), and let the building and releasing of karma teach the lessons. Souls can choose to learn through joy, but it takes keen commitment that few souls choose. Most souls on Earth are “C” students who sleepwalk through their painful incarnations. The “A” students have awakened and choose to grow through joy.

Michael stated that souls choose a role before they incarnate in physical reality, and maintain that role through all of their incarnations. Seth called himself and Jane “speakers,” which are Michael’s “sages.” Michael is called a mid-causal entity, comprised of over 1,000 souls of “kings” and “warriors,” which collectively lived more than 100,000 lives on Earth. Seth is also a mid-causal entity. Michael said that the plane above the causal was as much of a mystery to him as the astral plane is to us.

Michael said that beyond infant-to-old souls are “Transcendental” and “Infinite” souls. Transcendental Souls pave the way for social transformations, and Michael identified Mohammed, Socrates, Zoroaster, and Gandhi as Transcendental Souls. Transcendental souls pave the way for Infinite Souls, who represent the Tao, and the Infinite Soul’s primary message is that we are all one. Michael identified Buddha, Lao Tzu, Krishna, Ra, and Jesus as Infinite Souls (or vessels of the Infinite Soul, depending on the terminology). I regard Jesus’s “Love the enemy” as the most enlightened advice ever given to humanity. Michael stated that the Sermon on the Mount is the closest thing to Jesus’s actual teaching that survived in the New Testament. I have also read in afterlife accounts that Moses and Joshua were mythological creations, not real people. People can visit Jesus on the astral plane, but not Moses or Joshua, and likely many Old Testament figures, such as Adam and Eve.

Michael said that humanity became ensouled about 60,000 years ago (when behavioral modernity was achieved, and when Earth’s conquest began), and that humanity is on the cusp of transitioning from a Young Soul to a Mature Soul species, which is the transition between the outward to inward focus, which is the most momentous transition for an ensouled species. Michael stated that for ensouled species (he said that our galaxy had one million ensouled species), we are at the stage where one third of them destroy themselves, of those that can manipulate their environments. Of those that do, two-thirds of the time it is via environmental destruction and one-third of the time it is through warfare. Michael stated that it is in no way ordained that humanity will survive the transition, and we could well make Earth uninhabitable, which takes us with it. If we do, the souls most responsible for the destruction will incarnate on the dying Earth, as they reap what they sowed, as that is how souls learn, not as punishment.

Michael said that if we succeed in making Earth uninhabitable, then the souls that still want to incarnate will have to find another life form on another planet, and it would likely be one that cannot manipulate its environment, as it does not want to go through that experience again.

I had quite a reading from famous Michael channel Joya Pope in the early 1990s.

Ra – Channeled by Carla Rueckert, created the third of my “big three” channeled teachings. Ra may be the same Egyptian entity that Michael said was a manifestation of the Infinite Soul. Ra said that he withdrew from contacting physical reality when the Egyptian priesthood began corrupting his teachings. While Michael described positive and negative poles of the attributes of Earthly personalities, Ra discussed positive and negative “polarization,” and instead love and fear, Ra called it love of self and love of other self. The love-of-self path has a certain validity and for personalities that devote enough of their energies to the polarization (over 50% to others for love of other self, and over 95% to self for love of self) are eligible for a “harvest” to the higher planes, which Ra called “densities.” Ra said that Genghis Khan, Rasputin, and some of Hitler’s henchmen were “harvested” on the love-of-self path.

Ra said that some souls are called “wanderers” who come from a higher (sixth) density to third density (physical reality), for something like a “special assignment.” When I read that long ago, it was kind of stunning, as my name, Wade, means wanderer, and my college roommates called me a wanderer, without knowing my name’s root.

I can barely sketch those teachings in this post. I don’t see those teachings as contradictory, but different ways to see Creation and our reality. I think that goes for all spiritual teachings. As long as love is the root of them, the rest is fine by me, as love is the energy of creation.

Robert Monroe had amazing paranormal experiences and particularly explored the bridge between physical reality and the astral plane, and he called what he found “focuses.” His adventures were like Swedenborg’s. One of Monroe’s pupils was Bruce Moen, who wrote several books about his explorations. One I have referred to in my work for many years, of the immediate afterlife of a man named Max, who was an emotional sadist. Max’s experience was like I have read of in many places, in that “birds of a feather flock together” on the astral plane. It was really Max’s imagined heaven, although most of us would call it hell. As long as Max loves being an emotional sadist, he will live there, but he will bear the brunt of emotional sadism as often as he gives it.

The Christian afterlife, of heaven, hell, purgatory, and the like can be seen throughout the spiritual literature that I have read, but the terminology was usually different. Testimony of Light is one of many works that I have that describe the immediate afterlife. What I found particularly memorable about that book was at the end, after the deceased nun had finished dictating the book to the psychic, a year later the nun was encountered again, but that time in a glowing, exalted state, which was because she had reunited with her soul. One piece of advice that I have seen in immediate-afterlife accounts is to give up physical addictions will alive, as they are hard to break on the other side, if you bring them with you.

Carol Zaleski wrote a book about historical accounts of the afterlife, going back to Gilgamesh. This stuff is far from new.

While reading those hundreds of NDE accounts, I constantly saw affirmations of those teachings. They all point in the same direction, and materialism has no place in any of them. I regard materialism as just another religion. I doubt that any organized religion will survive for long in the Fifth Epoch, and materialism will die like the rest of today’s dominant ideologies. In one sense, materialism is a Young Soul triumph, to be so invested in physical reality to deny that anything else exists.

This post is just skimming the surface of works that I have studied for more than 50 years, but this post will help make clearer why I think like I do and how my spiritual perspective is the foundation of my comprehensive perspective.

    Wade

The greatest scientists were keenly aware of the limitations of their profession, and they generally had a mystical bent, which is largely lost on materialists and the “skeptics.” A materialist cannot truly have a comprehensive perspective, which is why Brian O’Leary called for a new science that was liberated from materialism, among other limitations. Like everything in our world of scarcity and fear, the scientific establishment has become highly corrupt in many areas and nowhere more spectacularly than in biomedicine, in which conflicts of interest are normalized and outright fraud abounds, which was never clearer than during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it awakened millions to how corrupt Western medicine has become.

Make no mistake: my work is all about helping manifest what I call the Fifth Epoch, which is a world of abundance and love, not the scarcity and fear that dominate today’s world. Brian developed a comprehensive perspective, and he promoted a framework that he called the Four Cultures of the Phoenix. While Brian respected the efforts of those that he called Truth Seekers, Deep Ecologists, and Pragmatists, he thought that they all had limitations in their perspectives that only Spiritualists could overcome.

My jury has long been out on whether materialists could develop the comprehensive perspectives that an effort like mine needs, but Brian was probably right, and they can’t. They usually become what I call Level 3s, as they deny and dismiss free energy’s possibility on the “laws of physics” objection, and they dismiss evidence of organized suppression as a “conspiracy theory.” As Brian said, there are no laws of physics. We only have theories, and to even use “law” invokes religion, not science. My friend was kidnapped and shown antigravity technology. In that light, the so-called Law of Gravity becomes something else: an incomplete theory. I lived through the organized suppression that those people so blithely dismiss.

I recently made posts on some of my paranormal experiences, scientific evidence of the paranormal, and my spiritual influences, which provide a glimpse of how I arrived at my perspective and approach to manifesting the Fifth Epoch, which follows.

According to orthodox physics and cosmology, our universe is nothing but energy. I’ll buy that, and love is the energy of Creation. The journey of life on Earth and the human journey is basically an energy story. We all live forever, and in the Creator’s eyes, the worst of the worst of us is little more than a child at play.

Physical reality is the lowest plane of Creation, and lessons can be learned here that cannot be learned anyplace else, which are largely related to having physical bodies and taking care of them. Humans are social animals, and social animals are social because sociality helps a society’s members survive and reproduce, which are biological imperatives. The biological compulsion to survive and reproduce in a world of scarcity is the root of all violence.

The issue of serving our needs or serving the needs of others is the crux of our spiritual evolution. A tiny fraction of humanity has made self-servingness a science, and they go by various terms such as psychopaths, sociopaths, and narcissists. I also call them dark pathers. The dark path is a valid path of a soul’s learning, but it is ultimately delusional. The dark path will not lead back to the godhead, but the dark path is not forever.

Going back to gorillas, all African ape societies have been dominated by males, because they are larger and stronger than females. An encouraging exception is bonobos. Women have a biological advantage in being other-serving, with their wombs and breasts. Dark pathers are predominantly men. Men commit about 90% of all murders on Earth, and they soon rose to dominate all early civilizations, in a new social role called elites.

Early civilizations were highly unstable, and rising and falling empires have characterized humanity for the past several thousand years. I recently wrote about a pupil’s work, and he wrote about the Byzantine Empire and its eventual conquest by the Ottomans, which triggered Europe’s conquest of humanity. My sense is that elites could not begin to think in global terms until that global conquest began, and the rise of global elites began then.

The global elites that I refer to are not American presidents, billionaires, and the like, whom I call retail elites. What I call retail politics happens down the hierarchy of power on Earth a ways. The sitting American president is a puppet, and no politicians on Earth effectively address our existential risks; that is not their job.

The global elites that we encountered are invisible to the public because that is good for business, and they control the world economy. As I wrote in my previous post, humanity’s survival is in no way guaranteed.

I was involved with five mass-movement energy efforts before I finally learned my lesson. My last one was more than 20 years ago, and I have been doing something else ever since. The arrival of those sequestered technologies that my friend witnessed for public awareness and use would usher in a new Epoch of the human journey, which I call the Fifth Epoch, which is a world of abundance. That arrival will be the biggest event in the human journey. I have survived, witnessed, and heard of the many paths of failure for this Epochal task, and I am trying something different. As my mentor Seth said, the means become the ends, and every step toward an ideal needs to be worthy of it. The so-called zero-point field may be divine in nature, and galactic civilizations without sufficiently benevolent intentions either won’t access it or not for long.

I have a plan for manifesting the Fifth Epoch, and I know who I am looking for. My work is intended to help them develop the comprehensive perspectives that I think are needed for this task. Otherwise, they get lost in the weeds, disappear down rabbit holes to nowhere, and the like. My plan, which I call the love and enlightenment approach, will work, if I can find the people for it and help train them.

    Wade

I went to business school and became a CPA. I was regaled with the wonders of capitalism (with a cynical aside or two, which I did not appreciate until years afterward). I remember in an economics class, one of our readings was about the horrors of the Soviet Union. One class was taught by an ex-CIA man who was proud of it. To become a CPA in California meant two years working at a CPA firm, and I was an auditor for three years, which were my life’s unhappiest years. We were supposedly financial police who ensured accurate measures of profits, which is the Holy Grail of capitalism. I eventually learned that we were cops on the take.

My American indoctrination taught me that I lived in The Land of the Free. In ways, that is true, because we are history’s richest and most powerful nation. Americans have the freest speech on Earth, but it is not all that free, and there is no guarantee that anybody will hear it. I was also taught that the media sought the truth and held the powerful to account. That turned out to be a fairy tale, and I saw the media lie about Dennis Lee from nearly the day that I met him, as it protected the interests of its capitalist patrons. I eventually learned that the media can make it up as it goes, and as long as we have a capitalist media, Ed Herman’s Propaganda Model will be relevant.

A cornerstone of capitalist theory is that free markets ensure that those who serve the consumer the best will prevail in the marketplace and become the richest. Of all the lies of my indoctrination and conditioning, that might be the biggest one of all, which I learned the hard way. As Ed said, there never have been free markets, anywhere.

Before we had the boom lowered on us, the CIA offered Dennis $1 billion to cease our efforts. Dennis put the world’s best heating system on people’s homes for free, and he genuinely thought that he would be welcomed by the electric industry in our home state. The opposite turned out to be the case. That heating system is still the world’s best, and it has been completely wiped out in North America. Only one company on Earth still makes it, to my knowledge. In concert with the oil companies, the automobile industry has long suppressed high-MPG carburetor technology. That is standard corporate practice, but you will never see a credible discussion of the reality in the mainstream media.

I gradually became aware of what I call the Global Elite, and they control the world economy. They have spent at least $1 trillion to main their dictatorial control over humanity, and I have borne the brunt of their machinations. That is capitalism on steroids.

That is quite a trick, to portray our systems as free, when they are anything but, and nearly all of humanity plays along with the charade. I am going to run through the global rackets and how they work. They all have similar sociologies.

The video of this post is here.

Animals of the same species can cooperate, compete, or enter into violent conflict, as they pursue the biological imperatives of survival and reproduction. When those imperatives meet scarcity, violence can ensue. Human behaviors have deep evolutionary roots, which can be easily seen in chimp societies. Females try to raise healthy offspring, while males are preoccupied with seeking food, mating, and protecting their territory while always looking for opportunities to expand it. A standard chimp strategy is killing off the adult males in a neighboring society, taking the territory and fertile females, and killing the infants. Jane Goodall first observed it. Males and females have their dominance hierarchies, and male politicking is constant and can be deadly. Frans de Waal thought that a human would not last a day in a chimp political system.

Deception is an ancient evolutionary strategy from camouflage to ambush predation to the surprise raid, which is a favorite of chimps and humans, as recently exemplified by the USA and Israel’s surprise murder of Iran’s leader, his family, and many others. All Western interest, meddling, and violence in the Middle East are about its oil, which is history’s greatest material prize. Everything else is a sideshow.

Hunter-gatherers acted much like chimps with better tools, with territory and its resultant food, and fertile women, as the greatest prizes. When humans entered their sedentary phase, it was still about survival and reproduction at its root, but professions and industries came with the first civilizations, which increased standards of living with better tools and ways to use them, but it all rode on the energy of crops and forests. Humanity has been turning forests to deserts ever since.

The rise of civilizations also led to the rise of elites, and they often claimed divine status or sanction. Rising and falling empires have characterized humanity ever since. It was all about controlling land and peoples, to milk energy and its fruits from them, and it could be a delicate dance between exploitation and revolt. But as the energy surplus increased, so did standards of living, as energy is wealth, as Bucky Fuller observed. When Europe began to use watermills, it had its first Industrial Revolution, and vying for control of watermills typified the times.

The Ottoman conquest of Constantinople spurred Europe’s conquest of the world, as it utilized history’s greatest energy technology to that time, to turn Earth’s ocean into a low-energy transportation lane. Non-Eurasian peoples never had a chance. Early on, the competing powers formed corporations, to aid in their conquests. Violence and “commerce” were intimately related, and outlawing native industries were Spanish and British strategies, which soon degraded the conquered into an easily exploited peasantry and slave class.

In modern parlance, from the earliest kings, the path to riches and power was to establish monopolies and no competition would be tolerated. With the rise of industrialization, corporations, and robber-baron fortunes, more sophisticated means were devised, and neoclassical economics began its rise, which ignores the real world to focus on the exchange aspect of economics. It is a nonsensical view of the world, but it has prevailed in academia. A cornerstone is the idea of free markets, but there has never been a free market in world history. It is as much of a fantasy as a free press and democracy. They are all ideals that have never existed in the real world. A great deal of deception and propaganda can make them appear to be real, but they are Potemkin versions of reality.

As Adam Smith wrote, wiping out the competition is the essence of capitalism. In the real world, so-called barriers to entry help keep any competition at bay. Some of those barriers are structural and others are conspiratorial. The global elite’s tactics to suppress disruptive technologies, particularly energy technologies, are all conspiratorial at their root, but can be largely structural in their execution, and I lived through seven of the nine that Steven Greer mentioned in a recent movie. I discussed them in a video last year.
The global rackets all have their bags of tricks to keep their monopolies intact, but they all lead with indoctrination and conditioning, so that any alternatives to the rackets can become hard to imagine. That indoctrination and conditioning does most of the work of keeping the monopolies intact, and the vast majority of humanity eagerly plays along, sleepwalking the entire way, embracing their brainwashing to their graves. I have watched people embrace certain death rather than question their indoctrination and conditioning. I had to witness it several times before I began to understand.

In future posts, I am going to discuss the sociology of each of the global rackets and how they maintain the status quo of elite rule as humanity dances along the edge of the abyss.

I was working on an energy racket post when I saw that Marilyn Monroe was born 100 years ago today. I feel obligated to write about her on this day.

Gary Wean was at the Malibu pool party at Peter Lawford’s home when Monroe was introduced to Jack Kennedy in 1960. According to Gary, Monroe was being used as bait for an intelligence-gathering and blackmail operation that targeted Kennedy, run by Mickey Cohen and Menachem Begin.

Gary was also at Monroe’s home on the day that she died. Gary wrote that she was not visited by Bobby Kennedy, but by her handler, who worked for Cohen. Monroe knew too much, was beginning to talk, and had to be silenced. Her murder preceded Kennedy’s by a year. Monroe’s fate was another sordid Hollywood tale, and she deserved better.

    RIP, Marilyn.

When I heard Brian O’Leary say that seven cartels controlled the world economy, he did not list them at the time (he later did), but I knew that the kingpin had to be energy. None of the others come close. Only in the energy racket are people offered immense sums to cease their efforts before they get the boom lowered on them. According to orthodox physics and cosmology, our universe is nothing but energy.

Each Epoch of the human journey was founded on its energy practices, and energy has been the central concern of all societies for all time. But the science of energy is young, and unless there is an energy shortage, few people really think about the energy issue, and especially in energy terms. Food is almost all energy, as far as the benefit that warm-blooded humans get from it. Our industrial societies primarily run on the energy of fossil fuels. As Bucky Fuller said, if oil was priced at the benefit that humanity got from it, it would cost $1 million per barrel, and I have roughly recalculated it. There is nothing else on the world market like oil. No other cartel can boast of anything remotely similar. Virtually all transportation on Earth runs on fossil fuels and on oil in particular. The West’s thirst for oil explains everything about its interest in the Middle East for the past century. Everything else is a sideshow. As I write this, the world is in the midst of an incipient oil crisis that the USA and Israel created when they attacked Iran, which might get far worse.

The end of humanity’s fossil-fuel era will come in this century, in one way or another. The energy racket liberally uses organized suppression to keep any threat to the racket at bay, but they are also actively preventing the next Epoch from arriving, which would be the biggest event in the human journey. All of the global cartels depend on the stranglehold of the energy racket over the world economy and humanity. If free energy technology was used by the public, all of the rackets would soon end. Very little about today’s world will survive for long in what I call the Fifth Epoch.

While the organized suppression is indeed impressive, all rackets are maintained by the 1% conspiracy and 99% complicity dynamic. As I heard Tom Bearden say long ago, the CEOs of the oil companies are not really in on it. The suppression hails from higher levels. Similarly, at a meeting that Steven Greer hosted was a former CEO of one of the companies that develops those exotic technologies, like what my friend was shown long ago. That former CEO was completely unaware that those activities were happening at his company. That reminds me of how out of the loop JFK was on activities in his administration, including the operation that got him killed. CEOs and presidents are mere figureheads, members of the relatively powerless retail elite.

As I have long written, the best propaganda does not look like it, but it looks like the news and education. Arguably the most brainwashed class of all is scientists, and when the issue of free energy is broached, they almost uniformly deny its possibility with the “laws of physics” objection, and they dismiss evidence of organized suppression as a “conspiracy theory.” They are highly naïve. They suffer from the same constraints that nearly all intellectuals in capitalist societies are subjected to. Scientists have their own category in my list of free-energy awareness. As Brian stated, there are no “laws” of physics. We only have theories. To even use the word “law” invokes religious faith, not science. My friend was shown antigravity technology in action, and in that light the so-called “law of gravity” is an incomplete theory. In nearly 30 years of writing publicly, being assailed by “skeptics” and the like, I have yet to see one robust discussion of the world’s best heating system. Humanity seems to be incapable of it, especially scientists. It used to boggle my mind, but I eventually realized that it is normal.

Materialism is a religion that sits on a false foundation, but it informs the worldview of most scientists, as they drink their sherry and ridicule accounts of the paranormal. This is not an inconsequential aspect of this issue, but it is one of the central problems. But almost everybody reacts to the idea of free energy with denial and fear. Virtually all of humanity is complicit in this situation, so I do not want to be too hard on scientists.

All of the rackets have intense indoctrination as part of the conditioning of their members, and few ever awaken past their indoctrination, but that goes for all humans.

While the organized suppression in the energy racket is like nothing else on Earth, that racket is like the others in how its members are indoctrinated. That indoctrination does most of the work in keeping the racket intact. We toy with a self-inflicted extinction today over this issue more than any other. Time is short.

When short-term economic gain is weighed against long-term economic disaster, short-term gain usually prevails, and this is an ancient dynamic. In Ancient Rome, the surrounding forests were devastated (1), as the denuded soils filled harbors and made marshes where malaria thrived. These effects were noted at the time, and there was an official response to “study” that matter, but it was just a stalling technique and nothing was ever done about it. The Mediterranean’s periphery is littered with moonscapes that were once forested.

In my previous post on the energy racket, I neglected to discuss its intellectual warriors. I can call it conspiratorial, but I doubt that it hails from the global elite level. It is what oil companies and other corporations have done to muddy the scientific waters. Ed Herman called it junk science. Its leading practitioner was arguably Fred Singer, who was a hired gun for oil and tobacco companies, among others. Fred fought against scientific findings regarding acid rain, second-hand tobacco smoke, and Global Warming, as he defended the interests of his patrons. There really was not a debate among scientists on Global Warming in the 1980s. There is not much of one today. The only debate is about how fast and how much Earth will warm. The dynamics of Global Warming are not controversial among climate scientists. The basic mechanics have not been disputed since the 1800s. Arrhenius’s calculation from 1896 is still relevant.

Carbon dioxide and global climate did not really sink home with me until I began to study paleology and I saw how Earth’s carbon dioxide levels were uncontroversially the driver of ancient warm and cold periods. There is very little debate on that issue. Increasing Earth’s carbon dioxide levels by 50% since the 1800s has warmed Earth, as fossil fuels power industrial societies. I have received truly idiotic arguments from Global Warming deniers over the years, at about the level of Flat Earth “evidence.”

But in the early 1990s, as climate scientists became alarmed, Singer and a handful of his cronies, who all got money from hydrocarbon interests, began to challenge the idea that Earth was warming or that rising carbon dioxide levels were responsible for it. And the media welcomed them, creating the illusion of a controversy that did not really exist. Singer tried to recruit Brian O’Leary into his soul-sold cause, as he was Brian’s mentor early in Brian’s career. When I asked Brian about Singer and Global Warming, it was the angriest that I ever saw Brian, and he planned to confront Singer.

The coming year may see an epic El Niño, and the climate-change deniers will likely be out in full force, as they sing the Hydrocarbon Lobby’s tune. All of the rackets employ ideological warriors like Singer, to muddy the waters and create the illusion of controversy. I call it the manufacture of dissent.

    From Substack:

The video of this post is here.

I suppose that I understand the energy racket the best, as I went through its meat grinder. But I have studied the medical racket more, likely partly because more of its victims have spoken out publicly. The medical racket is not nearly as secretive as the energy racket is. It has not paid out $250 billion in quiet money. Jon Rappoport said that the strike teams for the medical racket are far more ruthless than those in the energy racket. My guess is that the energy racket can afford to be more genteel about it, and it is playing a much bigger game than the medical racket does, so its efforts are more subtle and sophisticated.

I began my medical racket essay by noting a conflict of paradigms. Feminine medicine emphasizes prevention, including nutrition, sanitation, and hygiene, and its interventions are gentle remedies such as herbs. Masculine medicine is a form of warfare, as exemplified by the era of “heroic” medicine, which is largely still with us. In the West, masculine medicine literally wiped out feminine medicine, as “witches” were murdered and midwives were put out of business. The American Medical Association was already highly corrupt when robber barons joined the party, and the major contours of today’s racket were well established before World War II, as the Journal of the American Medical Association promoted cigarettes, including a cigarette filter made of asbestos, which the dictator of American medicine designed the “research” for. I could not make that up if I tried.

In the USA, most medical professionals go into the industry for the money, and most (I have seen 70%) are oblivious to the racket that they are part of. They guzzle the Kool-Aid and never suspect that anything is awry. Even idealistic medical students get it beaten out of them in medical school. It seems to be slowly changing. About 25% of them suspect that something is wrong, but never quite awaken. About 5% know that they are in a racket, but few dare speak up, as then their careers will end.

Alternative treatments have always been under siege, as the medical racket keeps its monopoly intact. The racket presents its interventions as backed by solid science, but that is one of its bigger lies. Even among the defenders of science, biomedical science is seen as its flimsiest and most corrupt branch, primarily due to conflicts of interest. Most funders of biomedical research are trying to profit from it, and there is no greater prescription for corruption than that. Infants and children are used as expendable experimental subjects in the USA. Holocaust survivor Vera Sharav has been an important voice on this issue, with an upcoming book.

There is debate on how many Americans each year are killed by their medical treatments. One estimate runs into the hundreds of thousands, and others put it at “only” 20,000, generally for terminal patients. But one nurse friend told me that she saw patients killed all the time by mistakes, and hospitals never perform autopsies. Those deadly mistakes were always covered up. Call me skeptical of that “low” rate.

In my life, of my three college roommates, one was undeniably killed by his medical treatment, another was undeniably crippled by the COVID vaccine, and the other one was likely killed by the COVID vaccine. None of them made the harm and death statistics. Many medical professionals regularly kill their patients, and either do not know or care. Some MDs became mass murders and black humor about patients abounds in the profession.

I recently wrote about the infectious-disease and degenerative-disease rackets, so I do not need to belabor them. Polio is likely a chemical poisoning disease (first by lead arsenate and then by DDT), as AIDS is also likely caused by chemical poisoning. But viruses were blamed for what are likely manmade diseases. Similarly, lead was defended for generations by scientists in the pay of lead interests, and scientists working for fluoride polluters turned fluoride from a hazardous industrial waste into compulsory medicine. Mercury was added to infant teething powder until my lifetime. These are all examples of masculine medicine at its finest.

As I see it, operating under the male paradigm is the foundational error in Western medicine, and when capitalism got hooked up to medicine, it directly led to the outrages that I sketch in this post. Most medical professionals don’t know or care and the patients line up like a huge lemming stampede, as they embrace certain death rather than question their indoctrination and conditioning or give up their addictions.

In the Fifth Epoch, when everybody eats whole food and stops poisoning themselves in the name of pleasure and the like, everybody will live to be 100, they will be healthy the entire way, and medical interventions will be largely unknown, as another racket dies. All rackets will die in the Fifth Epoch, as will most aspects of today’s world, and nobody will miss it.

The way that the medical racket operates is similar to Ed Herman’s Propaganda Model, (which is a conflict-of-interest model) in that the structural aspects explain most of what happens. There are definitely conspiratorial aspects of the medical racket, with hit teams and the like, but it is the familiar 1% conspiracy and 99% complicity dynamic that is found in all of the rackets.

I’ll finish with a cartoon that I saw many years ago. I recently saw it in a recent post by one of my favorite medical bloggers, and it kind of sums up the perverse incentives of Western medicine.

The video of this post is here.

As with the energy and medical rackets, I got to see the media racket in action before my days of study began. The media lied about Dennis Lee from nearly the day that I met him. Three years later, I realized that that media can just make it up as it goes. That all happened before I ever heard of Noam Chomsky. When I began my days of study in Ohio, the media was one of the first subjects that I began studying. I soon fell in love with Ed Herman’s work, and 27 years later, I became his first and so far only biographer.

Ed’s Propaganda Model is still the one to be reckoned with, 40 years after he first developed it. It will be relevant as long as we have a capitalist media. Ed never denied the conspiratorial aspect of what I call the media racket, but he argued that it was not needed to explain how the media operates. That agrees with my 1% conspiracy and 99% complicity concept. Ed focused on the 99% complicity, not the 1% conspiracy. I only recently realized that my Epochal framework of the human journey is a structural model. I really had not thought of it that way, not the way that Ed’s model is explicitly structural.

But Ed’s Propaganda Model is closer to my “racketeering model” than it might seem. Just yesterday, as I thought about this post, I realized that Ed’s fourth filter, flak and the enforcers, is very similar to my concept of organized suppression. Really, about the only difference is that with organized suppression, the perpetrators are well aware of their role, particularly at the top, while flak generators may not be quite as “conspiratorial” about it, although that is debatable. How “conspiratorial” were Accuracy in Media’s activities? It rabidly attacked any reporting outside of the imperial framework, and the media welcomed Reed Irvine’s efforts. Could Irvine have been just a deluded ideologue, or was there another level of awareness? Does it matter?

Once I became aware of the idea that those seven cartels control the world economy, it gradually became evident that the rackets interlinked, even below the global elite level. The intelligence and media rackets in particular helped the others. The media provides a brainwashing function that enables all of the rackets, while the intelligence racket leads the way on organized suppression, with its cloak-and-dagger methods. Only when people play at the high levels will the CIA come out of the shadows to openly engage them. Few who were subjected to organized suppression even suspected that they were, and most of the suppression is structural in nature.

The vast majority of how the media operates is how Ed and Noam described it. As Noam noted, independent thinkers are weeded out of the system, beginning in kindergarten, so that by the time students graduate from the Columbia School of Journalism, they will reliably report what corporate America wants them to, and they think that they are free-thinking pursuers of the truth.

The media racket is similar to the energy and medical rackets in many ways, particularly in its sociology. Few in any of those rackets realize that they are in a racket. They all guzzle the tasty Kool-Aid and rarely question it. Some begin to realize that something is awry, but it rarely rises past a nagging cognitive dissonance that can’t be drowned with a stiff drink, at least for that evening. Some begin to understand. Noam discussed how there were people in the media’s ranks who understood quite well how the media operated, and they tried to sneak in some truth once in a while.

My guess is that the numbers are similar to the medical racket, in that 70% are oblivious, 25% know that something is wrong, but are not sure what it is, while that 5% fraction woke up and understands that they work in a racket. Some speak out or leave, but most of them stay quiet, punch the clock, and have a challenge in living with themselves.

Like Dennis and Brian O’Leary in the energy field (there have only been a few like them), or those heroic medical professionals that are on the honor roll in the beginning of Kennedy’s masterpiece, there are some heroic media professionals such as Sam Husseini, who has had hell to pay. There are not many like Sam out there.

As I have stated, the sociologies of all of the global rackets are similar, and it can easily be seen in the rackets that I have covered so far.

    From Substack:

The video of this post is here.

As with the energy, medical, and media rackets, I was somewhat familiar with the intelligence racket before I began my days of study. I had a close relative who was a contract CIA agent who worked for Henry Kissinger. His secret life ruined him, and he drank himself into an early grave. He nearly tried to recruit me into the “business,” and I thank my lucky stars that he didn’t. My father had a top-secret security clearance to work at NASA’s Mission Control Room in Houston. I heard about Dennis Lee’s Special Forces days, in which he worked with the CIA in Indochina. There is a lot of overlap between the CIA, military, and privatized spooks.

My days of study began when I read Gary Wean’s book in January, 1989, and I read of the CIA operation that got JFK killed. The next year, I read Ralph McGehee’s memoirs. I became Gary’s and Ralph’s friend. They are among my heroes.

Ralph argued that the CIA was not really an intelligence organization at all, but a covert action and disinformation organization that actively deceived the American people as one of its chief functions. As John Perkins was taught, after the CIA overthrew Iran’s government in 1953 on behalf of oil companies, it began privatizing covert action, to make it harder to be accountable to the federal government. The CIA is half-jokingly called the “Standing army of the Fortune 500.” My relative was likely recruited with a macho/James Bond/patriot pitch.

Victor Marchetti, the first CIA employee who wrote a critical memoir of the CIA (who had an epic legal battle, like Ralph did, to publish his book), wrote that the CIA took the UFO issue seriously. E. Howard Hunt, who ran the operation that got JFK killed, told the original Watergate attorney that JFK was killed over the ET issue.

Brian O’Leary’s life was likely shortened by the spooks when he began snooping into the UFO issue. Spooks are directly involved with most of the tactics of organized suppression of free energy and other disruptive technologies. The global elite have the best spooks, but even they are disposable.

Even the spooks have similar sociology to the other rackets. It took Ralph 16 years to finally realize that he was not one of the good guys, and he thought of killing himself when he had his terrible realization. I doubt that my relative ever figured it out, as he drank himself to death, which is a common fate of spooks, Special Forces members, etc. Unless they are psychopaths, they don’t kill people with clean consciences, no matter how much they might try to justify it. The halls at Langley have been filled with people who eventually realized that they were not the good guys, and they shuffled through the halls, counted their days to retirement, and poured themselves into a bottle each evening.

There are divisions of labor in all of the rackets, but the spook world is heavily compartmentalized, so that few spooks, if any, see the big picture of their activities. They are assured that their activities are for a good cause. What I call dark pathers also abound in the spook world, but even they can feel a spiritual duty that calls them to their labors.

It is certainly harder for spooks to justify their labors than bank tellers, medical professionals, journalists, and the like, but they all accomplish it, to one degree or another. I found that people can believe and justify anything, which is directly related to the sentience and integrity issues.

While the spooks are a racket unto themselves, as with the media, the spooks actively enable other rackets, particularly the energy racket. The CIA has long been a manipulator of the media, it often partners with the military, spooks have been involved in organized suppression in medicine, I have heard grim tales from the world of banking, in which spooks were involved (as Danny Casolaro discovered, for instance), and perhaps strangest of all, spooks are deeply intertwined with organized religion, as the Mormon Financial Empire and factions of the Jesuit order are prominent in the global elite, and they can be fanatically involved in trying to end our world, to fulfil their religious prophecies.

The oddest tales of all have come to me about the spooks. A “white hat” faction of the global elite gave my friend his exotic technology show, and I have heard a great deal of scuttlebutt over the years. I have had some good sources. Most is likely true, even if often bizarre, but I usually get it third-hand, and I try to keep my work more conservative.

All of the rackets have members who deal with cognitive dissonance, which can be extreme, as their training and experiences conflict. The spooks are no different in that regard, but they are often the tip of the spear for the global elite, so it can become more pronounced with them.

The video of this post is here.

As Azar Gat said, the biological compulsion to survive and reproduce in a world of scarcity is the root of all violence. Even ants have wars. Today’s chimps provide evidence that human warfare likely has very deep roots. In my opinion, the “hawks” prevailed over the “doves” on that issue.

Warfare became professionalized with the rise of civilization, along with other activities. While civilized warfare inflicted violence on an epic scale, violence was proportionately smaller in the agrarian phase of the human journey than the hunter-gatherer one. All warfare is rooted in economics (scarcity), generally over energy resources (and women, especially in the hunter-gatherer and agrarian Epochs).

Women have evolved to raise healthy offspring, while men have evolved to form military alliances, to either protect their societies or conquer other societies. Young men consequently have poor risk assessment, which makes them the ideal cannon fodder. I was raised with the idea that I would not quite be a man unless I had been a soldier.

Elites appeared with the rise of civilization, and the rise of elites was accompanied by violence, as they garnered their disproportionate share of the thin economic surplus, which was primarily food. The first civilizations conquered each other, and rising and falling empires have characterized civilizations ever since. Those conquests were accomplished through warfare, either waged or threatened.

Warfare has always shaped all human societies, as violence “works,” at least for the winners. Going back to ants, there can be non-violent resolutions when the combatants are more evenly matched and warfare becomes increasingly Pyrrhic. Many tactics have evolved to lessen violent conflict, but warfare has also become a science. In the USA, war is big business, one of the biggest on Earth. American war hero Smedley Butler was blunt about it: war is a racket. War profiteering is nothing new, but the USA has taken it to unprecedented heights. World War II’s war profiteering made World War I’s pale to insignificance. Dwight Eisenhower warned about the military-industrial complex, and I consider JFK’s murder to be Ike’s warning come to fruition.

My war essay was intended to help deflate American delusions regarding World War II, known in the USA as the “Good War.” The flag-waving Saving Private Ryan spurred me to write that essay. The USA achieved unprecedented global hegemony at the end of World War II. The world’s militaries were identified by Jon Rappoport as one of the global cartels that control the world economy. I don’t know just what that global structure looks like, but I think it is obvious that the global elite consider a world of peace and plenty to be bad for business. A humanity that lives in abundance and love will be hard to control. Humans living in scarcity and fear are easy to manipulate. Global elites understand this quite well, and they understand that in what I call the Fifth Epoch, elites will become obsolete, just like chattel slavery became obsolete in the Fourth (industrial) Epoch.

I confess to not knowing much about how the global elite and national elites interact, although there is plenty of overlap. The American war machine is all about securing cheap resources and labor for American elites, generally through corporations that they control, and lining the pockets of military contractors. The global elite know quite well that if the public used free energy, antigravity, advanced materials, and other technologies in the elites’ Golden Hoard, our world would soon end. Very little about today’s world will survive for long in the Fifth Epoch, and global elites are trying to prevent that from happening, for reasons of Earthly power. Their games will end in the Fifth Epoch.

I know that sitting American presidents are a ways down the hierarchy on Earth, and I have to wonder how genuine various wars really are. Sam Husseini calls a lot of what happens “logrolling,” in which seeming adversaries are involved in mutual backscratching. I have seen evidence that American wars can be started just to line the pockets of military contractors, although it might just be an ancillary “benefit.”

I have heard all manner of scuttlebutt over the years, and Wernher von Braun’s warning to his assistant, soon before he died, rings true, that a staged “alien invasion,” a cosmic false-flag event, if you will, will be used to herd a frightened humanity under the “protection” of a global dictatorship. A global dictatorship has been a right-wing theme for many years, and it is a logical goal for megalomaniacal elites. Many agrarian potentates declared themselves the king of the universe. That mentality is still alive and well.

While it pays to be aware of such plans, they are not my focus. If what I call a choir can form, what the global elite do will not matter. So, as Butler said, war is a racket, and it is not surprising at all that there is some kind of global military cartel, and like most of the cartels, the biggest arm of it is in the USA. That is also partly why an American like me knows as much about these areas as I do. I have been in the middle of this stuff, often involuntarily.

Banking is the ultimate exchange function. Banking is purely accounting, and it will quickly vanish in what I call the Fifth Epoch. When I read that banking was one of the seven economic cartels that control the world economy, I was not surprised. I have been hearing about the “International Banking Cabal” since before Dennis Lee was arrested, and a great deal of conspiracist literature revolves around those alleged bankers.

The international bankers have definitely been involved in the $250 billion or more of quiet money payouts over the years, to sequester disruptive technologies. David Rockefeller called Dennis at home, to try to dissuade him from his free-energy efforts, and the head of the Rothschild family interrogated one of Dennis’s associates about Dennis at Langley, in one of the CIA’s eavesdrop-proof rooms. But we were also subjected to a sting operation that alleged that a trillion-dollar trust had been crippled by the bankers. When the CIA man offered Dennis $1 billion to fold our operation, he said that he represented “European interests.”

With surreal events such as those, it is hard to know exactly what is happening at those global levels. For my part, I saw the Savings and Loan Scandal from the inside, before it became a scandal, and I worked at a Savings and Loan bank for several months soon after I moved to Ohio. My high-tech employer was defrauded out of tens of millions of dollars by Lehman Brothers, which I could have prevented, if I had been allowed to snoop into it. That event will always haunt me.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw the banking racket serve the medical racket, as it froze the bank accounts of Canadians who protested the Nazi-like vaccine mandates, dissidents such as Joe Mercola had their bank accounts unceremoniously closed, etc.

There is a lot of rumor and speculation about the international bankers that is likely inaccurate, but it is indisputable that bankers are key players in the rape of poor nations, via the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. This has been an issue among the left for many years. John Perkins revealed the banking game from the inside long ago.

I think that the sociology is similar to the other cartels. Very few who work at banks have any idea about those events that I listed above, or have any idea of who is directing such activities. In a world of scarcity, banks make sense. In a world of abundance, they become meaningless.

I see the banking cartel as playing a key role in the control of humanity, and while there are global elites, the bankers will play their part.

    From Substack:

The video of this post is here.

This post is about the last of the seven cartels that I have been told control the global economy. Organized religion can seem out of place on that list, but it plays a role. Chimps engage in “waterfall displays,” which has been argued to be proto-ritual behavior. The hunter-gatherer religion was focused on singing and dancing rituals that fostered in-group cohesion, so that a society would prevail in warfare against its neighbors. It seems to be a form of limbic-system conditioning. Religion and warfare have been united ever since.

When civilization arose, with the rise of professions, including the priesthood, the hunter-gatherer religions were wiped out. But singing-and-dancing sects keep appearing and religious authorities keep trying to eradicate them. Early on, the priesthood entered into Faustian deals with elites, conferring divine status or sanction to them.

I was fortunate that I was raised fairly free of religious indoctrination. My father thought of becoming a minister, and my mother’s mother ran her Lutheran church for 50 years, but other than a few years of Sunday school before adolescence, I was spared religious indoctrination and was well on my way to becoming a materialist before my first paranormal experiences. I would never see the world the same way after that. With my many paranormal experiences and more than 50 years of spiritual studies, my opinion is that there is something real at the root of all religions. It is not just a bunch of superstition. But I see the world’s organized religions as an aid for younger souls, who do not have as much inner access and experience. They need guidance, and religion can provide it, but it is all too often twisted for dark ends (wars, genocides, etc.).

I consider Jesus’s “Love the enemy” to be the most enlightened message yet given to humanity, and I have great respect for spiritual masters, particularly those who embodied what the Michael channel called the Infinite Spirit. I consider those masters to be messengers from the Godhead, to remind us where we came from, and the priesthoods always distorted their messages, in the service of wealth and power. Ra was allegedly an Infinite Spirit manifestation, and the Ra channel remarked that he withdrew when the priesthood began distorting his teachings.

Like almost everything else about our world, I do not expect any of the world’s organized religions to last for long in the Fifth Epoch, and human spirituality will become vastly more enlightened than what we see today.

Seth said that scientists were the new priesthood, as the current authorities of reality, with their materialist philosophy. In that light, it has been almost amusing to see religious fundamentalists and scientists (the former and current authorities of reality) rush to invalidate the near-death experience (“NDE”) phenomenon. I even saw an attempt to combine both scientific debunking and religious fundamentalism, as the scientific establishment’s stance dismisses it all as an illusion, while the fundamentalist approach is to call NDEs encounters with the devil.

I know psychonauts who have taken psychic voyages like Michael Roads did, and I do not consider his account of a visit to a heavenly future Earth to be fiction. My life’s work could be considered an audition to live a future life in that world, and try to recruit others to set our world on a path to it. But I would like to live to at least see humanity begin the Fifth Epoch.

According to Steven Greer, the Mormon Financial Empire is the current ringleader of the global elite, and members of the Jesuit Order are also involved. That does not surprise me, and Greer wrote that the religious factions are among the most fanatical foot soldiers of the global elite, as they seek to help their “end-of-the-world” prophecies come to pass. Their ranks are filled with what I call dark pathers, and the terms “sociopaths” and “psychopaths” can also describe them.

In that light, that organized religion is one of the global rackets makes sense. The scarcity and fear endemic to the human journey has assured that the wisdom of the masters will always be distorted by self-serving priesthoods and the public is easily manipulated by such processes, as people generally live in scarcity and fear instead of abundance and love.

Like the other rackets, the rank-and-file members of organized religions have nearly all imbibed the Kool-Aid, usually fed them from their cradles, and they will never think independently on the issues that they were brainwashed into. They are an easily managed herd that is milked and slaughtered by elites. Organized religion could be considered the world’s oldest surviving racket, although the others also have deep roots. All of them had legitimate reasons for coming into existence, and all have been bent toward elite ends.

    Best,

    Wade

The video of this post is here.

In the previous posts, I sketched the seven rackets that have been said to control the world economy. They are:
The energy racket stands alone in importance, and everything else is a distant second place, as energy runs our world, and is our world, in a very real sense. I bore the brunt of how the energy racket works, and I experienced nearly all of its tactics of suppression, but I also saw aspects of all of the other rackets before I began my days of study.

In my posts, I showed some of the interplay between them, and my understanding is that they all interlink at the top of the global power structure. There is mutual backscratching, but there are also rivalries and power plays. Think of them in terms of warlords. Even putting aside my grim experiences and those of my circles, I have heard plenty of wild scuttlebutt of global elite activities over the years, from credible sources, such as about their drug-running operations. Some of what I have heard is hair-raising.

My sense is that elites could not begin to think in truly global terms until Europe’s conquest of the world, and I suspect that today’s global elites began their rise to global dominance when that conquest began. People will not encounter global elites unless they do something that attracts global elite interest or they are seen as a threat. Even then, such people will not meet Mr. Big, but will instead encounter the global elite’s minions. And those minions rarely have any idea whose interests they are serving.

The CIA man who offered my partner $1 billion to cease our efforts was an errand boy for the global elite. The people who abducted my friend and gave him an exotic technology show were members of a dissident faction of the global elite. I have seen them called “White Hats.” We encountered them periodically, but we had far more encounters with the Black Hats.

I know that Lee Harvey Oswald was not John Kennedy’s assassin, and even if JFK was killed over the ET issue, my sense is it was more domestic interests than foreign or global interests that had JFK killed. Even though the ET cover-up is history’s greatest, the cover-up is primarily because of the exotic technologies that ETs possess. Sitting American presidents are puppets, far down the hierarchy of power on Earth.

I sketched the sociologies of all of those global rackets, and they are all similar, in that most in the rackets have been fed the Kool-Aid from a young age and few suspect that they are in a racket.

What we call capitalism is deeply intertwined with all of those rackets. As Adam Smith wrote, wiping out the competition is the essence of capitalism. A cornerstone of capitalist ideology is the idea of free markets, but they are as prevalent as unicorns: a myth that has never been seen in our world. The real capitalism, not the fantasy version taught in schools and presented in the media, is a bloody affair in which greed and a lust for power prevail.

Each one of the global rackets has its own division of labor, including spooks who do a lot of the dirty work of ensuring that nobody can challenge the rackets. Being offered $1 billion, before being wiped out, is capitalism on steroids.

I do not know of anybody else on Earth who has been through the free-energy meat grinder and does what I do. Today, I am a voice in the wilderness, even though the global elite are well aware of my efforts. There should be 100 like me doing this.

I have long written that the greatest triumph of the global elite is to make what I call the Fifth Epoch unimaginable, and nearly all of humanity falls into line. Almost nobody on Earth can productively engage this reality, but some can, and I know who I am looking for. If I can find them and help them merely understand the situation and participate in a public discussion, the rest will be easy.

Humanity has it toes over the edge of the abyss, and Brian O’Leary’s question of whether humanity is a sentient species is a fair one. I call humanity semi-sentient. The capacity is there, but it is rarely used.

The global elite know that they toy with making Earth uninhabitable, so that most of them favor bringing forth those disruptive technologies for public use. They also know that their reign on Earth would soon end, so this has been a difficult tightrope for them to walk. This is why those technologies have been sequestered like they have.

    Best,

    Wade

My life’s journey taught me many lessons, many of which I could not imagine that I would learn. If you had told me what lied ahead, at various junctures of my preposterous journey (1, 2, 3), I would not have believed any of it.

I began my days of study with Gary Wean’s book, in January 1989. Much of that study was the history of life on Earth and the human journey. To a great degree, it was a study of my ancestry and how we came to be. It was quite a journey to become human, and for all of our failings as a species, I developed an appreciation of much of it. Life before the Industrial Revolution was rough. The average American is richer than Louis the XIV, who was Europe’s richest man many about three centuries ago. We can’t sit in judgment of those earlier times, but there are many lessons to be learned from them, and one is to be glad that they ended. No society can be romanticized in which half of its children died, which was a constant from gorillas to the Industrial Revolution. A large fraction of those childhood deaths came from infants that were murdered by their parents. With the seeming exception of bonobos, infanticide was a standard practice of many primate species, including humans, until the Industrial Revolution.

I am going to begin this series by going way back to events that had great portent for life on Earth. For many of them, if they had not happened, we would not be here. Then, I am going to work up to my family history and show how my studies helped me gain an appreciation of my ancestry. Many events were grim ones, but they led to my life.

How life began on Earth is an enduring mystery, and I like the volcanic-vent hypothesis. Somewhere near the beginning, life invented enzymes, which speed up chemical reactions by up to billions of times. Many inventions of early life were essential, such as a way to reproduce (probably RNA before DNA, and RNA can also act as an enzyme), membranes to create life’s shield from the environment, and the production of ATP, which is the coin of energy for all life today. The “turbine” that makes ATP in our mitochondria is a marvel.

Today, scientists think that all life on Earth today is descended from one organism. In this narrative will be a number of solo ancestors of humanity, without which, we might not be here. That ancestral organism likely would have been similar to a bacterium. Life split into two kingdoms early on. Bacteria formed one, and Archaeans the other. To the casual observer, Archaeans look like bacteria, but they are quite different, especially biochemically. So-called extremophiles are mainly Archaeans.

It is thought that the earliest life was able to squeeze energy from chemicals, and life invented the ability to capture photon energy. It is thought that one organism invented the ability to capture light, and all photosynthesizers are descended from one bacterium. Sometime later, another lone bacterium evolved the trick that saved all life on Earth, as it split water to get its electrons for photosynthesis.

The importance of that singular event cannot be overstated. The initial purpose was to get that electron, and also hydrogen’s proton. More than 99% of Earth’s hydrogen at its surface is contained in water, primarily in the ocean. Only hydrogen can provide the protons that life uses. Protons drive that ATP-making “turbine” and they also power the flagella that propel bacteria. As Nick Lane once stated, life is all about protons.

Splitting water to get that electron incidentally liberated oxygen. Oxygen is one of the most reactive elements, so it is rarely found by itself in our universe, as it eagerly bonds with other elements. That liberation of oxygen is why we have oxygen in our atmosphere today, and why we breathe oxygen. Oxygen was originally a useless and even deadly byproduct of getting hydrogen’s electron and proton.

The Sun’s ultraviolet light splits water and liberates hydrogen. Hydrogen is the lightest element and it readily floats high into the atmosphere and even escapes into space. That oxygen byproduct of oxygenic photosynthesis created atmospheric oxygen (and the ozone layer, which protects Earth’s surface from ultraviolet light). That is unique in our solar system and it might only exist on other planets that have oxygenic photosynthesis. That atmospheric oxygen bonded with that escaped hydrogen, turning them back into water, which prevented Earth’s surface hydrogen from escaping into space, which saved Earth’s ocean. Without oxygenic photosynthesis, Earth might have already lost its ocean to space, like Mars did. That would have meant Game Over for life on Earth. The lone bacterium that invented oxygenic photosynthesis saved all life on Earth.

That lone bacterium also may have initiated Earth’s first ice age, as oxygen oxidized methane (which is a far stronger greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide). The bacterium may have also initiated Earth’s first mass-extinction event. But it also led to microbes that switched to aerobic respiration, which provides several times the energy as other respiration processes do. Without aerobic respiration, plants and animals would likely not exist. Plants and animals also would not exist if not for another event that might have happened only once, when an Archaean enveloped a bacterium, and complex cells were born. The mitochondrion is almost certainly a bacterium that came to live inside an Archaean. The human body is 10% mitochondria by weight, and mitochondria are our energy centers. Those collective innovations led to today’s situation, in which my body burns energy, pound-for-pound, about 100,000 times as fast as the Sun produces it. My body is 99% hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon.

There are competing hypotheses for those events, but plants and animals would not be possible without them. There have been no biochemical innovations as significant since then. We all ride on the shoulders of microbes.

    Best,

    Wade

As I finished my previous post, we all ride on the shoulders of microbes. Complex cells may be over two billion years old, but it would be another billion years until sexual reproduction appeared, and several hundred million years after that before recognizable animals appeared. Microbes began eating each other perhaps nearly three billion years ago, although it could be as recent as one billion years ago, given how sketchy the evidence is. By the end of the Ediacaran Period, in which arguably the first animals lived, predation was an established lifestyle. Then came the Cambrian Explosion and the first complex, modern-looking ecosystems, and it became an arms race between predator and prey, which lasts to this day. Virtually all animal body plans (called phyla) were established in the Cambrian, including vertebrates, which led to us. The first vertebrates were fish, and the Devonian Period has been called the Golden Age of Fishes. Near the end of the Devonian, during one of the five major mass extinctions, some lobe-finned fish began migrating to land, likely to seek refuge, as they lost out to ray-finned fish in the ocean.

Those migrants did well and evolved into amphibians. The first forests buried so much carbon that they brought on another ice age. Cold times are dry times on Earth, and some trees evolved to reproduce with seeds instead of spores (which need water, for the sperm to swim to the egg), and some descendants of those migrating fish evolved to lay eggs that did not need to be laid in water. It is common to call all of those egg layers on land reptiles, but there were two distinct lineages; one led to dinosaurs (diapsids) and the other led to mammals (synapsids).

From the beginning of life on Earth, any species that could not survive and reproduce went extinct. More than 99% of all species that ever lived have gone extinct. We all have our moment in the Sun. Sometimes, animal types could live in an ecological niche for hundreds of millions of years, such as coelacanths, which surprised scientists in the 20th century, who thought that they had been extinct when dinosaurs did. Coelacanths have been around for more than 400 million years.

I read all of the paleontology books in my grade school library by age 10 or so, and I vividly recall reading about my beloved trilobites. After nearly 200 million years of existence, they went extinct in the greatest extinction of all so far.

Social animals are social because sociality enhances the survival and reproductive prospects for its members. Sexual reproduction had to have conferred advantages over asexual reproduction to have become the primary mode of reproduction for plants, animals, and fungi, which are the three main branches of complex life. One reason why sexual reproduction is thought to have thrived is that it sped up evolution. It generally takes two to reproduce sexually, especially with animals, and the hunt for mates characterizes sexual reproduction.

As a child, I played with plastic animals, including dinosaurs, wooly mammoths, and one memorable toy had a big sail on its back. I now know that it was part of the lineage that led to mammals. Scientists think that that big sail was an example of what is called display. Display is a way to signal to potential mates the displayer’s reproductive fitness, which means producing viable offspring. When men flaunt their wealth or power and women flaunt their appearances, those are forms of display.

The eon of complex life is punctuated with mass extinctions. The earliest ones were all in the ocean and caused by anoxic (low oxygen) conditions, while the more recent ones were usually caused by volcanism. In the wake of mass extinctions, previously marginal species could find themselves in their golden ages, with their competition eliminated. We currently live in the golden age of mammals, after a bolide event wiped out most archosaurs (which includes dinosaurs).

Birds are dinosaurs, and the only surviving ones. There is evidence that at least some dinosaurs brooded their eggs in nurseries and that Triceratops really battled Tyrannosaurus Rex, which may have hunted in packs as they attacked herds of herbivorous dinosaurs, in a gigantic analog of what happens on the African savanna today. In dinosaur times, some plants evolved to feed animals instead of defend against them, and flowering plants appeared, which is the greatest symbiosis between plants and animals.

Many bird behaviors are likely inherited from their dinosaur lineage. The same goes for mammals and humans. Many human behaviors can be seen in primates, particularly the great apes, and especially chimpanzees. Chimps engage in constant political maneuvering as they vie for status. Status means better odds of survival and reproduction. Chimps engage in the same dance that humans do, of vying for status while maintaining societal cohesion.

But chimp societies are hundreds of times as violent and aggressive as the most violent human societies, they engage in warfare that is eerily similar to human warfare, with surprise raids, rearguard attacks, hilltop surveillance, and genocide of neighboring societies, while taking the fertile females and territory of the vanquished. Hunter-gatherer societies did the same thing, just with better weapons. I doubt that the evolutionary path between our common ancestor with chimps and humans was peaceful. As Azar Gat stated, the biological compulsion to survive and reproduce in a world of scarcity is the root of all violence.

Jane Goodall was the first to witness a chimp genocide, which she may have precipitated by using bananas as chimp bait, so that she could observe them. What was also distressing was that the vanquished neighbors had originally been part of the conqueror society. “Friends” became expendable in the quest for territory and fertile females. Up to half of all adult chimp males die violently.

An exception to chimp violence is bonobos, who were chimps who became isolated south of the Congo River, with no gorilla competitors, and they radically changed their social organization in their relative plenty. Females dominate bonobo societies, and they are uniquely peaceful among African apes.

The bloody struggle for survival and reproduction simply continued as apes evolved into humans. There seem to have been multiple instances of apes becoming bipedal. The first indisputably bipedal apes began making stone tools, and giant tortoises soon began to go extinct. Species being driven to extinction when another species gained the upper hand had likely happened countless times in the journey of life on Earth.

Bipedal apes with those tools had runaway brain growth, Homo erectus appeared more than a million years later, they became apex predators, and Africa’s megafauna began going extinct. Homo erecti used their superiority of violence to kill all the meat that they could. I doubt that anything else should have been expected. Homo erectus’s hunting tools and tactics could also be used on each other. Those hunting weapons would have worked great on competing humans.
There was a longstanding dogma in anthropology that humans were peaceful before the rise of farming and civilization, but it has been largely overturned by the evidence. There has been a similar attempt in academia to deny that humans caused the megafauna extinctions. That position has also largely collapsed in light of the evidence. I see both of those humanity-absolving stances as part of what I call the “Anything but Homo Sapiens" hypothesis. Those scientists were just defending their in-group: humanity. I believe that that stance has done a disservice in understanding our past. The human past is not pretty, but holding to peaceful and harmonious fantasies, in defiance of the evidence, is delusional.

When humans became behaviorally modern, likely in Africa less than 100,000 years ago, they became the most capable colonizer of Earth ever. By about 60,000 years ago, they left Africa and conquered Earth over the next 50,000 years. That expansion drove all other human species, as well as all of Earth’s easy meat, to extinction. I doubt that there was much awareness amongst Homo sapiens of what that process led to. The men who led that conquest were “hyper-masculine” brutes that could have likely easily defeated any human today in hand-to-hand combat, similar to how any adult chimp can easily kill any adult human. About a quarter of hunter-gatherer men died violently.

It all makes eminent sense, but it would be a useless exercise in moralizing to judge those behaviors. It has been argued that those men might often be called psychopaths today, and that when they became too threatening to their societies, they were banished or killed. That practice has been argued to have reduced sociopathic genes from the human genome, and humans began to become moral.

When I look back at that ancient past, I try to see it as animals and people just trying to survive and reproduce. If I had been alive then, I would have been one of those brutes. It is OK to be glad that those days are behind us, but they also led to us. It is part of our heritage.

But I've never heard what feels like a satisfactory answer to the question. I know life back then was supposed to be nasty, brutish and short — but why was it short?

The video of this post is here.

This post is in response to Bill Ryan’s post at Avalon. Bill and I go back a ways. Making this series of posts reflects not only thinking about my family, going back a few centuries, but going all the way back to the beginning of life on Earth. My previous post sketched the eon of complex life that led to humans.

Bill specifically asked about hunter-gatherers, and this post will address them. Chimps hunt and forage, but the Wikipedia article attributed the beginning of the hunter-gatherer lifestyle to Homo erectus about 1.8 million years ago. I can go with that. Around that time, Homo erectus had invented Acheulian stone tools, may have controlled fire, and began driving African megafauna to extinction as Africa’s apex predator.

There was almost two million more years of evolution before behaviorally modern Homo sapiens appeared on the scene. I recently referred to this article as a good summary on the state of the science of why behaviorally modern humans conquered the world. That conquest happened during the hunter-gatherer phase of the human journey, which I call the Second Epoch. Those are fascinating, if often grim, topics, but what about the lives of hunter-gatherers themselves?

For starters, from gorillas to the Industrial Revolution, only about half of offspring reached adulthood. A generation ago, a famous paper explored hunter-gatherer life expectancy. Here is a good discussion of it. Only 56% of prehistoric hunter-gatherers made it to age 15. Less than one-in-200 made it to age 65. Most of those childhood deaths may have been due to infanticide, as the parents could not afford to feed them. About 25% of men died violently, generally in territorial disputes with neighboring bands. The skeletal evidence is stark. In aboriginal Australia, which was the best “lab” that we had of hunter-gatherer societies before the rise of farming, the skeletal evidence shows that a quarter of the men and a third of the women had healed skull fractures from interpersonal violence (women got it from their “husbands”). That is likely why aboriginal Australians have skulls twice as thick as the rest of humanity’s.

It is true that prehistoric hunter-gatherers did not have much infectious or degenerative disease. Those came with the agrarian Epoch. But the lives of hunter-gatherers were very rough. Nearly everything that we take for granted in modern life did not exist for prehistoric hunter-gatherers. They did not have roofs over their heads, unless they were “lucky” enough to live in a cave. They were always on the move, seeking food. They continually came into violent conflict with neighboring societies, especially after the short-lived golden age of the hunter-gatherer was over. To “trespass” into another band’s territory was to risk death. Those societies often had “no-man’s lands” between them, to reduce the violence. A minor cut could be enough to cause death from infection. Neanderthal skeletons were full of fractures, which came from either interpersonal violence or the hazards of killing large animals without projectile weapons.

The favorite hunter-gatherer war tactic was like what chimps do: the surprise raid. Hunter-gatherers usually did it at night, just before dawn, and they would slaughter the entire sleeping encampment while often sparing the women, who became their “wives.” Stealing women was standard hunter-gatherer practice, so much so that in many hunter-gatherer societies, any strange man was killed on sight, as the usually accurate assumption was that he was there to steal a woman.

One common practice was almost funny. In Arctic societies, which almost entirely relied on hunting, boys were prized and girls were killed by their parents. It got so bad that the boy-girl ratio got as high as two-to-one. Then the society had a shortage of women. The “solution” was a sneak attack on the neighboring society, kill all the men, and take the women. The combined numbers “solved” the problem of the sexual imbalance. Scientists have also argued that it was an inadvertent way to keep the populations within the land’s carrying capacity. What a way to do it.

I have seen a lot of romanticizing of hunter-gatherers, even within my family, and it is a bunch of fantasy. One day in a hunter-gatherer society would convince nearly all modern peoples that they prefer homes, underwear, plumbing, refrigerators, and beds.

    Best,

    Wade
