(A well-documented report featuring many credible sources of information, and clearly NOT just bogus anti-CCP propaganda. Much more in this report than just the headline story.)

"On June 10, 2026, the U.S. Coast Guard intercepted a vessel south of Miami carrying 25 individuals who identified themselves as Chinese citizens. The vessel repeatedly ignored orders to stop and accelerated in an attempt to flee. After warnings proved ineffective, law enforcement officers opened fire, forcing the boat to halt. Despite the use of firearms, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Terrible reporting which reaches, not exactly conclusions, but at least shaping the viewers/listeners thoughts through suggestions of connections. In addition all the footage was clearly AI generated as the images on screen bore little to no connection to the footage.

China Observer is affiliated with Vision Times, a Chinese language newspaper that has ties with the 'Falun Gong' movement...

As Falun Gong was labelled a 'heretical cult' by the Chinese Govt one could conclude China has set out on a new masterplan to demonise itself in western media.

onawah, did you ever explain anywhere in your long history of reporting on China how you became so dedicated to the task? Genuine curiosity on my part.

It would have been preferable if they had provided links to their news sources, but it looked like basically legit info to me, and I don't think ALL the footage was AI.
Most likely there will be better coverage of the various stories from other sources which will do a better job, such as Lei's Real Talk and The China Show.
But considering that was China Observer, it wasn't too bad, comparitively.
They actually report a lot of legit info, but in such a shoddy way it's usually hard to defend and you have to look to other, more credible sources for verification.

The China Show gets a lot of knocks, but their news is usually legit imho; it's mostly the unsophisticated entertainment style in which it's presented that makes it look fishy.
I don't think those 2 presenters would be working so hard with their several websites, selling Tshirts and chatting with followers, etc. if they were paid CCP propagandists.
Though they did get it very wrong recently, when they claimed that data centers are getting a bad rep.
Hopefully they will figure that out now that Erin Brockovich herself has taken up the cause.
Given the years (over a decade each) they both lived and worked in China, they have a good handle on what it's really like there, but they are still relatively naive when it comes to the real scoop on how nefarious the Globalist's agendas are in the Western countries.

It's VERY difficult to find good info about what's really happening in China as the CCP heavily censors anything it doesn't like, and whistleblowers run a big risk going against their agenda.
I don't actually recall how I got so interested in China, but it's definitely been a morbidly fascinating, and very concerning journey.
It may have been stories about the 3 Gorges Dam that first attracted my attention--truly a monumental disaster in the making... which will have big global consequences if it fails.
There's no wall quite like the one that came down when the Russian Communist Party took a big dive way back when, but the 3 Gorges Dam is a much bigger wall!

I'm amazed at the cluelessness of most people regarding how dystopian things are there, which can no doubt be attributed largely to the prodigious amount the CCP spends on counter-propaganda (and tyranny in general), much like the Russian Communist Party once did.

I'm amazed at the cluelessness of most people regarding how dystopian things are there, which can no doubt be attributed largely to the prodigious amount the CCP spends on counter-propaganda (and tyranny in general)

What about life is China do you consider dystopian compared to life anywhere else in the world? I'd say it is significantly more dystopian in the United States, and the people in the USA are on average MUCH MUCH more brainwashed and trusting of our government compared to the average Chinese person. China knows any the government says is a lie.

I watched most of that video and notice anything that resembled news at all.
The title of the video is an outright lie, which was just the first in misleading claim after misleading claim. these people were clearly not Chinese military. The actual reported information from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) states they were "Chinese citizens" and "migrants" smuggled on a boat near Miami.

The CIA/ military industrial complex has been in control of the opiate trade in the USA since Vietnam, the heroin dried up in the US after we left Afghanistan and then fentanyl took its place.
Of course the CIA didn't let China take over their billion dollar industry, so it is a bit hypocritical to blame another government for doing something that our own government is obviously doing.

My real issue with that youtube video is that some people might watch it and worry that a literal Chinese army is actively invading the U.S. border. This is not happening.
The US and China have great relations and we both require the other to exist for our continued prosperity.
There will be no US vs China war anytime soon, and China is certainly not our enemy much less actively sending troops to invade the country.

I've posted many articles and videos in the "What's Happening in China?" thread that answers the question of how dystopian things are in China and I'm not interested in a time-consuming debate.
The video I posted in the OP is not the most credible one I've ever posted by far, but there is no lack of credible reports on that subject in the other thread if you are genuinely interested.
The usual counter I hear from other members has to do with how dystopian things are in the US, which isn't the point.
In any case, it's obvious that there would not have been floods of immigrants fleeing to the US were that the case.
There are plenty of things wrong with the US and the policies of the US government, but compared to China, it's still a much safer place to live.
Though planet Earth in general is becoming more and more unsafe every day...
