Yes it's me again.. just wondering does anyone have any particularly touching, beautiful or otherwise amazing live performances to share? Let me begin with my favorite.

I still go to many live concerts today, mostly rock (or metal) bands. Big bands in big halls and lesser known ones in small locations too. It never gets old, love live music.

This one always gets me, especially at the 3 minute mark when the entire audience 'sits down' to jump up on command. The Beatsteaks from Berlin did this first and nowadays there a quite a few bands who do this with their audience. Always fun.

Jethro Tull's live performances always amazed.
Ian Anderson is just as much a performer as he is a musician.
He is still touring today, at age 78.

Do stay tuned for his flute playing around 3 minutes in. Never heard anything like it!

Indeed he does! As coincidence wants to have it, I just saw him play live a week ago (27 Jun) near my hometown! He performed as energetic as he did over 50 years ago. (Different band though but who cares, it was almost mostly about him anyways.)

speaking of David Byrne ... here with legendary Talking Heads, they were huge in the early eighties ... this performance from the formidable concert movie 'Stop Making Sense' (filmed 1983) should not be missing in this thread ... for me the best 'performance' of a singer 'standing' before a microphone ever, the entire movie is like this though, pure artistic gold!

IMO, this short spring-break concert tops their famous appearance at CBGB’s, at which they were afterward banned from ever playing there again because they made some favourite band look lame (according to Legs McNeil in a Juice Magazine interview, iirc). But that latter show rates a post here too, I’ll look for it.
