All "animals" are magical in the creation, and some become friends of man (from all type and gender)
Humanity itself comes from, and still belong, to an anvanced branch of primal(t) species close related ..
In this inter..., mittened period , when and where we are both too clever, and stupid for our own good as humans .
    Think of that

Despite looking rather like a jellyfish, salps are a member of the Tunicata, a group of animals also known as sea squirts. They are taxonomically closer to humans than jellyfish. Salps are free-swimming filter feeders that move using highly efficient jet propulsion, contracting muscle bands to pump water through their bodies to extract phytoplankton. They exhibit a unique alternation of generations life cycle, switching between solitary, asexual individuals and chain-like, sexual aggregates. These creatures play a critical role in the ocean's ecosystem by rapidly consuming algae and exporting carbon to the deep sea through their sinking fecal pellets and carcasses.

A case of animal abuse (which is legal and very common in China) has gone viral internationally, and the Chinese Communist Party is trying desperately to cover it up.
It all started with a friendly street dog named Wang Wang and her puppies, and the group of boys who tortured them horrifically, killed them, and filmed it.
(And as one commenter noted, serial killers commonly start with torturing and killing animals.)
Starting at 57 minutes into the video

(They aren't kidding but they are exaggerating somewhat; the real worst nightmare (3 Gorges Dam failure) hasn't happened yet.
But this is bad enough, for the CCP at least...)

    A Look Inside a Rattlesnake's Rattle

    Longer version - 4 minutes
Rattlesnakes are ambush predators, relying on staying hidden to get close to their prey. They don’t sport the bright colors that some venomous snakes use as a warning to predators.

Fortunately, rattlesnakes have an unmistakable warning, a loud buzz made to startle any aggressor and hopefully avoid having to bite.

If you hear the rattlesnake’s rattle here’s what to do: First, stop moving! You want to figure out which direction the sound is coming from. Once you do, slowly back away.

If you do get bitten, immobilize the area and don't overly exert yourself. Immediately seek medical attention. You may need to be treated with antivenom.

DO NOT try to suck the venom out using your mouth or a suction device.

DO NOT try to capture the snake and stay clear of dead rattlesnakes, especially the head.

How do rattlesnakes make that buzzing sound?

The rattlesnake’s rattle is made up of loosely interlocking segments made of keratin, the same strong fibrous protein in your fingernails. Each segment is held in place by the one in front and behind it, but the individual segments can move a bit. When the snake shakes its tail, it sends undulating waves down the length of the rattle, and they click against each other. It happens so fast that all you hear is a buzz and all you see is a blur.

Why do rattlesnakes flick their tongue?

Like other snakes, rattlesnakes flick their tongues to gather odor particles suspended in liquid. The snake brings those scent molecules back to a special organ in the roof of their mouth called the vomeronasal organ or Jacobson's organ. The organ detects pheromones originating from prey and other snakes.

Giant Leaf Insect - Master of Camouflage (4 min)

    Protective Resemblance

Giant Malaysian leaf insects stay still – very still – on their host plants to avoid hungry predators. But as they grow up, they can't get lazy with their camouflage. They change – and even dance – to blend in with the ever-shifting foliage.

Quote This live wildlife video camera is situated at NWR Okaukuejo Resort Wildlife Waterhole in the Etosha National Park in Namibia. This is a scarce wildlife area where you can watch animals from all over the Etosha National Park come to drink water and have a break from the hot sun. The waterhole is a haven for a number of wildlife species, including a great variety of birdlife, lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos and many more. 24-hour a day, 365 days a year!

    ABOUT ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

One of the largest savannah conservation areas in Africa, Etosha National Park is world-renowned for its spectacular wildlife: elephant, black and white rhinoceros, lions, leopards, cheetahs, large herds of springbok, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and a multitude of other fascinating species, big and small, interacting in their natural environment.

We have five resorts and one camp inside the park where we offer night drives and guided day drives exclusively.

Hi rgray222. I so miss all of your embeds in this file format.

Sometimes I search and find based on your description, but usually can’t.

Iirc, I’ve taken this to the sandbox, and I wasn’t able to do what was suggested.

Ni Perra Idea - Periodismo Daltónico

    Translated from Spanish
#InTheWorld | There are stories that restore hope! 🫏🥹

After the devastating forest fire that affected the #PalenzueladeSayago area, in #Zamora, #Spain📍, its owners thought they would never see their three little donkeys again. 🔥

However, when all seemed lost, the animals reappeared alive among the ashes, staying together until they were found and rescued. 😳

Although thousands of animals have been affected by forest fires, this story reminds us that, even in the midst of tragedy, small miracles can still exist. 🐾💚

I Built Nest Boxes for Tree Swallows - This Happened
"Before all the feathers are brought into the nest, the female started putting her energy into egging. One egg can weigh around 10% of her body weight, so she lays one a day early every morning to give herself the rest of the day to hunt and replenish her energy. Incubation only begins when all of them are laid."
    • The reason full incubation is delayed until the clutch is complete is to synchronize hatching. If incubation started with the first egg, that chick would hatch several days earlier than its siblings and would have a significant size advantage when competing for food.
    ***********
After building nest boxes for Tree Swallows, I decided to follow them for an entire nesting season to get a glimpse into their lives. From the day they arrived, to the day the chicks fledged, it took almost 70 days to watch their entire story unfold.

From probs the best interesting-recent-clips chan on YT, here’s a comp of wild critter encounters. A special edition, some of these clips go back a yearish, per memory. Most are new to me, and tho some are scary, I think they’re all pretty delightful.
