Facing the flames, the sanctuaries of Cotignac escape the worst

However, all danger is not ruled out: on July 23, fires reignited along the RD13, near Cotignac.

In the heart of Green Provence, nestled among wooded hills, two major pilgrimage sites stand facing each other: the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces and the Abbey of Saint Joseph of Bessillon, built on the site of the only recognized apparition of Saint Joseph in France. Both have survived the centuries despite the upheavals of history, the ravages of the Revolution, and long years of neglect. Yet, a new ordeal has befallen them in recent days. A violent fire ravaged the Bessillon massif and threatened to destroy both sanctuaries. Thanks to the exceptional intervention of the emergency services and a miracle, the buildings were ultimately spared, offering a striking image of these places of prayer remaining standing amidst a world blackened by flames.
    A fire of rare intensity

On July 21, 2026, a major fire broke out near Pontevès, in the Var department. Fanned by strong winds and exacerbated by the exceptional drought affecting the region, like much of France, the fire spread rapidly towards the Bessillon massif and directly threatened the two major sanctuaries of Cotignac. More than 1,200 firefighters were mobilized, supported by two Canadair water bombers, two Dash 8 aircraft, and a water-bombing helicopter.
Faced with the advancing flames, the nuns of the Mater Dei community were evacuated from the Saint Joseph Monastery. The Brothers of Saint John also left the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces, while families who had come to participate in the summer sessions were taken to safety. For several hours, everyone feared the worst. The fire reached the immediate vicinity of both sites and consumed much of the surrounding vegetation.

Yet, the buildings remain intact. This result is primarily due to the courage of the rescue workers and the extensive brush clearing work carried out in recent years. "The two sanctuaries were preserved thanks to the work of the firefighters, and also thanks to the hand of God, because there were many prayers," declared Brother Vincent, prior of the community and rector of the sanctuary. Unfortunately, not all the residents of the surrounding area were so fortunate. The flames caused significant damage to the mountain range, and the fire continues to spread in the surrounding area.

Notre-Dame-de-Grâces, birthplace of Louis XIII's vow
The older of the two sanctuaries in Cotignac is that of Notre-Dame-de-Grâces, whose history began in 1519. That year, the Virgin Mary appeared several times to the woodcutter Jean de la Baume on the hill of Grâces, asking him to build a church there where she would be venerated. The Bishop of Fréjus quickly recognized the events, and a chapel was erected on the very site of the apparitions, attracting a large number of pilgrims.
The influence of Notre-Dame-de-Grâces reached national proportions in 1637. With Louis XIII and Anne of Austria still without an heir after more than twenty years of marriage, the Augustinian friar Fiacre de Sainte-Marguerite came to pray to the Queen of Heaven for the birth of this long-awaited prince. A few months later, on September 5, 1638, the future Louis XIV was born. Convinced that this birth was a grace from Heaven, Louis XIII solemnly consecrated the kingdom of France to the Virgin Mary. Since then, Cotignac has remained intimately linked to the history of the French monarchy.

Like many religious buildings, the sanctuary suffered during the French Revolution. The religious community was dispersed, the buildings were confiscated and then converted into a prison before finally being demolished. A new church was rebuilt at the beginning of the 19th century, housing several liturgical objects and statues that had narrowly escaped revolutionary destruction. Gradually, pilgrimages resumed, and in 1981, the sanctuary was entrusted to the Brothers of Saint John, who continue to this day the mission entrusted to them five centuries earlier by the Virgin Mary.

Saint Joseph of Bessillon, a unique apparition in France

Just a few kilometers from Notre-Dame-de-Grâces stands the Sanctuary of Saint Joseph of Bessillon, whose origins date back to June 7, 1660. On that day, a young shepherd named Gaspard Ricard was tending his flock on the slopes of Mount Bessillon when a man appeared to him. The man simply said, "I am Joseph. Lift this rock and you will drink." Despite the stone's imposing size, the shepherd easily moved it and discovered an abundant spring, which still flows today. The Bishop of Fréjus quickly launched an investigation before recognizing the authenticity of the events and this apparition of the foster father of Christ, the only one in France to have been officially recognized by the Church. A chapel was built in 1660, and later a monastery was constructed to house the religious figures responsible for caring for this new pilgrimage site. Over the decades, devotion to Saint Joseph has continued to grow and Bessillon has become a major place of prayer for families, craftsmen and all those who place their trust under the protection of the Messiah's adoptive father.

However, once again, the French Revolution abruptly interrupted this growth. The religious order was expelled, the buildings were sold as national property, and the convent gradually fell into ruin. Only the chapel was preserved, and a few celebrations continued to be held there, notably for the Feast of Saint Joseph. It wasn't until 1975 that a true renaissance occurred, when Benedictine nuns returning from Algeria decided to revive the sanctuary. The buildings were restored, and the site gradually regained its vocation as a place of hospitality and spiritual retreat. Since 2019, the nuns of the Argentinian Mater Dei community have taken over, continuing this mission of prayer and welcoming pilgrims.

Today, Notre-Dame-de-Grâces and Saint-Joseph du Bessillon, saved from the flames, form a unique spiritual ensemble in France: that of witnesses to this deep link which unites France with its Christian roots.

Our Lady of the Pillar & St. James the Greater 🧵

Our Lady of the Pillar is recognised as the first Marian apparition in the history of Christianity and is the only one that happened while the Virgin Mary was still alive.

Although it was technically a bilocation of Our Lady, because she was living with John the Apostle in Jerusalem, it is still regarded as an apparition by the tradition of the Church.

    https://x.com/GrainneMcD92925/status...26247636083018

The Virgin Mary, with the Child Jesus in her arms and standing on a pillar, asked Saint James and his eight disciples to build a church on the site, promising that “it will stand from that moment until the end of time in order that God may work miracles and wonders through my intercession for all those who place themselves under my patronage.”

The church of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza, is the first church dedicated to Mary in history and it remains standing to this day, having survived invasions and wars.

Our Lady is also said to have given the small wooden statue of the apparition to Saint James, which now stands on the pillar she arrived on.

The wooden statue is a relatively simple image 15 inches high, standing on a jasper pillar 5.9 feet tall. But the crown adorning her head is a masterpiece. It was made in 44 days by 33 workmen.
The sun-like crown is made of 2,836 diamonds cut triangularly, 2725 roses, 145 pearls, 74 emeralds, 62 rubies and
46 sapphires. The crown of the baby Jesus is identical in shape although not in size.

Quote In this episode of Mother and Refuge of the End Times, Ron interviews a friend, Dave Dionisi. Dave is a former intelligence officer, financial services leader, and the founder of Liberia Mission. Liberia Mission was started in 2003 to help war orphans in Liberia end the cycle of poverty. His efforts have helped educate thousands of children in Africa to become Catholic. Together, they discuss the message of Our Lady of Akita, the spiritual and geopolitical forces behind 9/11 and the Iran War, the Mystery of Iniquity, and the spiritual tools needed to mitigate a piecemeal World War III. On a related note, Pope Francis used the term "piecemeal World War III" in September 2014 to describe how multiple independent regional conflicts, local massacres, and acts of destruction would combine to form a global state of war against Christ. In this episode you will learn you have free access to books with information that often only people with Top Secret security clearances can access to help clarify your understanding of the world. You will learn that after 9/11 Dave interviewed people in the Middle East to learn the Mossad, not Osama bin Laden, orchestrated the 9/11 terrorism to advance their goal for the United States to destroy 7 nations with the last on the list being Iran. Anyone claiming there is no evidence to support 9/11 was a false flag operation is either uninformed or wants to mislead you. The reason is Dave's Vigilant Christian III and IV books have been in print for many years. Dave also explains in this episode how the use of atomic weapons in 1945 were part the secret war against Christ. Dave's book Atomic Bomb Secrets was published by the company founded in Nagasaki by Saint Maximilian Kolbe. This book is also available to read online at www.daviddionisi.com.

The people leading the Mossad during the 9/11 false-flag operation and leading the United States government when the atomic bombs were used share the same Mystery of Iniquity religious belief system. Mystery of Iniquity leaders do not seek what is good for Israel or the United States but do seek a global New World Order. Be careful to not blame Jews or Christians for horrific mass murders in the past and now increasingly occuring in Iran. If you find yourself supporting war with Iran, you are being successfully deceived to reject being the peacemaker that Christ calls us to be. We are to love people, not start wars.

Dave Dionisi shared with Ron to please communicate to viewers that he made two mistakes. The first is he said Jimmy Carter signed the the Algiers Accords. Dave clarified the Algiers Accords were signed by Warren Christopher, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State under President Jimmy Carter on January 19, 1981. The second is Dave said the Intelligence Identities Protection Act which was proposed during the 97th Congress in 1981 was passed in 1981 but the correct date for Public Law 97-200 is June 1982.

He woke to an unseen force pinning him down with intense weight on his chest and multiple hands silencing him. For nearly 20 seconds he struggled against it until he could speak the name of Jesus and the attack ended.

    This sounds like chamelio.
DOD invisibility technology used as a Harry Potter invisibility cloak for a soldier.
Also used for intelligence gang stalking, for rendering a potential whistle blower as incompetent/crazy and to further muddy the narrative by furthering the message of the Collins elite that all aliens are actually demons.

Although,,, it was Greer's house, so it could have been Greer with that invisibility cloak looking to get a piece of a$$.

This might sound Bonkers to rational people, I have encountered hostile and mischievous 'entities' that have bothered me in my bedroom, one even messed with my feet and I have been having problems with my left foot/leg over the past months - a doctor was puzzled by the ultrasound "have you wrenched your foot"? I saw the black shape of a figure near my bed - I told it to pzzz off, not been back since. I have also invoked the name of Our Lord and felt the help of an Angelic presence. Amen.

I recently found out about the St Benedict medal after reading about tge rise of excorcism in the US. So I am sharing some information about it here for what it’s worth. There is also the St Michael’s prayer which is also on this thread.

St Benedict’s medal is a sacramental of the Catholic Church that is used for protection against evil. You don’t have to be Catholic to have one.

    A couple of articles here,

St. Benedict, whose feast the Catholic Church celebrates on July 11, endured constant attacks from the enemy throughout his life. The life of a monk only heightens the constant spiritual warfare we all face in the Christian life.

In fact, Benedict even had to use force to manifest his authority as abbot over his monks oppressed by the enemy, as related in Father Robert Nixon’s newly compiled and translated book The Cross and Medal of Saint Benedict: A Mystical Sign of Divine Power (TAN, 2024):

“Benedict found this monk outside wandering around aimlessly when he should have been in the oratory in prayer. With a certain degree of paternal severity and charitable discipline, he reprimanded him for his lack of wisdom and discernment and struck him with his staff. At this, the monk fell down, motionless. And after that, the devil ... never troubled him again. It was as if the staff of Benedict had not struck the hapless monk but had rather driven away the wicked tempter himself!” (14).
St. Benedict has come to be recognized for the power of his actions against the enemy, alongside St. Michael, as a major protector against evil, particularly through the medal that bears his image. Father Nixon’s book offers an overview of how the medal rose to prominence as a Catholic devotion and received papal approval, couching it within the story of St. Benedict’s life and the rise of his order of monks.

    If you’ve seen the back of a St. Benedict Medal, you may have noticed a series of letters. The first set is arranged in and around the shape of the Cross: C S P B C S S M L N D S M D. The next set is arranged in a circle around the Cross: V R S N S M V S M Q L I V B.

This arrangement first came to serious attention in the year 1647 in relation to the Benedictine Abbey of Metten in Bavaria, when it prevented a series of diabolic attacks. Although some of the laity already had medals with these letters engraved, no one at the time understood their meaning. It was only in researching the library’s manuscripts that a 15th-century illustration of St. Benedict pointed to the full prayer they abbreviated:

“Cross of our Holy Father Benedict. May the Cross be light to me. May the dragon not be a leader to me. Get behind me, Satan: Never persuade me to vain things. What you like is evil; may you yourself drink your venom!”

Due to a widespread story of the medal preventing the effect of curses and bringing about exorcisms and healings, which Father Nixon details in his book, its use spread across Europe, with Pope Benedict XIV approving an official blessing for it and granting it indulgences in 1741.

The great father of modern Benedictine monasticism, Dom Prosper Guéranger, speculated why God would grant so many favors to those who invoke his help through St. Benedict’s medal. In an age when “rationalism is so rife,” God has deigned to offer help to those “who put their confidence in the sacred signs marked on the medal” with “strong and simple” faith (Guéranger, The Medal or Cross of St. Benedict, author’s preface). It’s as if to laugh at the devil and his plans to pull people away from God through the alleged sophistication of the modern world, overcoming them with simple signs pointing us to the cross and the protection of a holy monk.

Of course, the medal should not be used in a superstitious way. It expresses our faith and confidence in God, which conquers the power of the enemy through the Blood of Christ. Within God’s plan of salvation, there are certain key defenders of God’s people. St. Benedict proved himself as one over his own monks in spiritual combat. Through the efficacy of his medal, he has manifested himself as a fatherly defender of all who invoke his help.

Throughout history, the monastic life has served as a constant beacon calling us to greater conversion of life and prayer. Turning to St. Benedict can lead us to embrace some of his spiritual principles, such as humility, obedience, stability, hospitality, the prayerful reading of Scripture in lectio divina and viewing our work as a means of honoring God.
