You Can't Beat Socialism with Milton Friedman: MIDTERM BOOTCAMP #17

    PrometheanPAC
    July 28, 2026

For fifty years, both parties told us the market would sort everything out. It didn't. It hollowed out the country. Now Trump is reversing it — and the loudest resistance isn't only coming from the left. It's coming from inside the Republican coalition, from the Friedmanite free-traders who will defend their policies while national security and sovereignty is gutted.

In Bootcamp #17, we lay out the real fight of the 2026 midterms. Not capitalism versus socialism, but Hamilton versus Friedman. J.D. Vance himself put it plainly: this economy is "much more Alexander Hamilton than Milton Friedman." That's not a throwaway line. That's the whole ballgame.
You don't reverse a gutted manufacturing base by applying tariffs to vital resources manufacturers need to make their products.
Proofs in the pudding, and tariffs are working and manufacturing and jobs are coming back to the USA end of story.

Beijing's Trojan Horse vs Trump's New Bretton Woods

    Promethean Overviews
    July 24, 2026

    Summary:
    00:00 Introduction
    00:45 Canada's Economic Decline
    02:56 China's Trojan Horse Strategy
    05:57 Europe's Industrial Collapse
    08:08 Two Competing Economic Systems
10:52 Bretton Woods and the American System
13:06 Trump's New Bretton Woods Vision
    15:07 Conclusion

Will President Trump's trade policies lay the foundation for a new Bretton Woods system, or will Beijing's economic model continue reshaping the global order?

In this episode, Mike Steger examines the growing economic confrontation between the United States, Canada, Europe, and China, arguing that the real battle is not simply about tariffs, but between two competing visions of civilization. From China's strategy of dominating global manufacturing through subsidized exports to President Trump's effort to revive the American System and establish a new international economic order, Mike explains why the future of global development may hinge on rebuilding the principles that once made America the world's industrial powerhouse.

Drawing on the history of Bretton Woods, the American System, and the economic ideas behind President Trump's trade agenda, this discussion explores why tariffs, national development, industrial production, and sovereign nation-states remain central to the future of freedom and prosperity.

    Topics include:

    • President Trump's tariffs and the trade dispute with Canada
    • Mark Carney and the future of globalization
    • China's electric vehicle strategy and the Tesla case study
    • The decline of European manufacturing
    • China's Belt and Road Initiative and global industrial expansion
    • The American System vs. globalization
    • The history of Bretton Woods
    • Scott Bessent and the vision for a new Bretton Woods
    • Stephen Miran and the proposed Mar-a-Lago Accord
    • Rebuilding America's industrial economy

Very concerning. Isn't this essentially what Israel is doing to USA? Which is to integrate their tech into the country's institutions (e.g. Palantir total AI surveillance and AI data centres).

It's just terrible what's being done to Venezuela.

Uh oh: Israel Just Built the New Petrodollar

Col. Larry Wilkerson: 'Trump set the world up for what we've all been saying, that this war is apt to go regional and even global.'
    Other points discussed include:
    • Netanyhu in Washington right now still using the Epstein blackmail on Trump and others (as per foreign intel sources).
    • Trump's bluster, false promises and threats not carried out, have resulted in no one trusting him anymore.
    • War against Iran has no clear strategy. (Interesting comment by Joe Kent: 'this war has become a bombing campaign in search of strategy'.
    • Trump is silent on the continued Israel's attacks in Gaza, Lebanon, West Bank, the Gaza "Board of Peace" is disintegrating, Trump's complicity in this genocide increasing.
COL. Lawrence Wilkerson : Does Trump Know He Lost His War?

UNTOUCHABLE: The Machine Behind Fauci the Senate Hearing Won't Expose

    01:39 What Today’s Hearing Won't Do
04:00 The Scientific and Intelligence Consensus Machine
10:04 Removing the Consenting Experts from Federal Funding

Barbara Boyd argues that Anthony Fauci’s Senate grilling and expected Fifth Amendment stance won’t address the central issue: how he remained protected for so long. Citing Fauci’s recently released diary and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s role in uncovering it, she claims it shows public deception on COVID origins and policy while the media and institutions helped enforce a manufactured consensus that crushed dissent.

Boyd traces this “manufacture of consent” to Walter Lippmann and points to The Lancet’s 2020 anti–lab leak letter organized by Peter Daszak as an example of consensus enforcement tied to funding.

She contrasts real science’s adversarial testing with grant-driven conformity, references earlier crises like AIDS and opioids, and highlights a July 21 proposal by Trump science advisor Michael Kratsios to redirect federal science funding toward mavericks, verification, merit, and advanced manufacturing, mandating agencies to reflect the shift in 2027–2028 budgets.

    Must watch!

"In this episode of 51/49, James exposes how corporate profit-driven food inflation is being weaponized by Congress to quietly pass a massive new surveillance law — revealing how the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act gives Homeland Security and local retailers sweeping authority to collect your personal data, track your location via AI cameras, and construct a permanent digital dragnet under the guise of "stopping shoplifting"."

First they made food unaffordable. Now this.

HIDDEN HAND: Trump's Secret Weapon Won the Middle East Without Firing a Shot

    Promethean Updates
    Aug 2, 2026

    Summary:
00:00 The Saturday Wrap-Up - HIDDEN HAND: Trump's Secret Weapon Won the Middle East Without Firing a Shot - August 1, 2026
    01:36 Gaza: The Impossible Disarmament
    04:47 Iran: The Mechanism
    08:13 The Payoff - Bessent, March 2025!

From Camp David, President Trump framed a reported Hamas disarmament agreement as a breakthrough enabled by pressure on Iran, arguing the regional strategic terrain has shifted.

The episode highlights two developments presented as unprecedented: Hamas agreeing to disarm and Israel and Lebanon resuming talks after three decades, both attributed to cutting off Iranian funding for proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah.

It claims the decisive “weapon” was Treasury action under Secretary Scott Bessent—sanctions, OFAC tools, anti–money laundering measures—described as “economic fury,” including designating over 1,000 Iranian-linked individuals, ships, and companies and disrupting routes through shipping, insurance, and offshore finance.

The script also points to the February 19, 2026 launch of the multinational “Board of Peace,” tasked with rebuilding Gaza, as a preplanned institutional blueprint that helped secure the Hamas agreement.

Susan Kokinda, quote: " (5:37 minutes) So, how did a Treasury Secretary do what carrier groups couldn't do alone?

For decades, sanctions on Iran were theater. A little pressure here, a little there. Never a real threat to the game. A game where imperial control of oil prices depended on keeping the Middle East unstable and the straight of Hormuse on edge. Peter Navaro calls it the terror premium.

This administration threw the playbook out.

It didn't go after Iran's economy in the abstract. It went after the machinery that funds Iran's operations abroad and at home. the IRGC's external networks, the accounts and front companies and cutouts that move money to Hamas and to Hezbollah. They called it economic fury.

Don’t fall for the fake Fox/GOP outrage.

Two weeks ago the House passed a bill that greenlighted the transfer of Spanish territory to Morocco. Every Republican except me voted for it, but now THEY are acting shocked at the invasion.

    Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸

Republicans paid $40 MILLION of your tax dollars to Morocco to invade Spain.

And then they all pretended like borders matter and clutched their pearls like invasions are offensive.

R’s and D’s are the same and the Uniparty has put us in $40 T in debt and Americans LAST.

The Trump admin sent FBI agents to subpoena NY Times freelancer Matthew Cole for his sources

Cole exposed a sickening US war crime in which Navy SEALs massacred North Korean fishermen after they were caught planting a surveillance device

The SEALs punctured the fishermen's lungs to make sure they would sink and not be found

Trump authorized the failed raid in 2019 ahead of talks with Kim Jong-Un, and with the goal of spying on the North Korean leader

Cole happens to be publishing a book about Jared Kushner's web of financial corruption

Surprise surprise! Trump is not only cashing in on manipulating the oil market with his flip-flops, he's now selling speedy access to his Truth Social media.

Trump teases Iran talks as Truth Social starts selling fast access to his posts
The sudden cancelation of strikes followed a week of threats that helped keep crude near $90 a barrel

    August 3, 2026

US President Donald Trump has teased new negotiations with Iran after abruptly calling off a major attack in a Truth Social post published on the same day that his media company began selling Wall Street firms millisecond-fast access to the platform’s market-moving content.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump claimed that talks would begin on Monday and said several Middle Eastern governments had urged him to give diplomacy another chance.

“We’re just going to see whether or not we can make a deal,” Trump said, claiming that the canceled operation would have been the “biggest attack since World War II.”

From ‘friendly’ talks to ‘locked and loaded’ – and back

Last Monday, Trump claimed that “very friendly negotiations” with Tehran were already underway. Within days, however, the US had resumed bombing Iran, while Trump adopted increasingly aggressive rhetoric, promising to hit the country “very hard.”

The US Department of War declared it was “locked and loaded” and prepared to unleash what Trump claimed would be levels of military power not seen since World War II.

US media reported on Friday that Washington and Israel were preparing an extensive campaign against Iranian power plants, refineries, and other energy infrastructure.

The threats, combined with continued disruption to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, helped sustain fears of a wider energy shock and propelled crude prices toward $90 a barrel.

On Saturday, however, Trump abruptly called off the strikes in a Truth Social post, claiming that Iran and several regional governments had agreed to the outlines of a deal that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and address Tehran’s nuclear program.

The sudden reversal triggered another sharp market swing when Asian trading resumed on Monday morning. Brent crude fell by more than 7% at the open, while West Texas Intermediate dropped 6.7% to $78.98 a barrel. US stock-index futures rose as traders priced in a reduced risk of further escalation and disruption to Gulf energy supplies.

    Truth Social monetizes Trump’s posts

August 1 was also the launch date of Truth API, a paid service operated by Trump Media & Technology Group that provides institutional customers with a licensed, machine-readable feed of posts from influential Truth Social accounts. The service is aimed specifically at high-frequency and algorithmic trading firms and reportedly costs as much as $100,000 per month.

Trump Media says paying customers receive posts within milliseconds of publication, while market specialists have argued that the direct feed allows well-equipped firms to process announcements and execute trades much faster than retail investors relying on the public website or app.

Trump’s posts are particularly valuable because he routinely uses Truth Social to announce abrupt changes involving wars, tariffs, individual companies, and other policies capable of moving stocks, currencies, and commodities. AP noted that policy reversals can be especially lucrative for high-speed traders, who can profit from an initial threat that moves prices in one direction and then rapidly change their positions when Trump announces the opposite.

Hormuz talks are none of US business – Iran

Iran has previously accused Trump of publicizing purported diplomatic breakthroughs to lower oil prices and buy time for further military action. The latest pause also follows an established pattern: Trump has repeatedly announced that strikes against Iran were being suspended to allow negotiations, only for military operations to resume after talks faltered or new attacks occurred.

Tehran has not publicly confirmed that any new negotiations with the US are scheduled, and rejected Washington’s claim to a role in determining the future of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said negotiations with Oman over the waterway’s management were “nearing completion,” while Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei described the discussions as a bilateral matter that “does not concern any other party.”

Baghaei said Iran and Oman are negotiating a new shipping route that would replace the existing northern and southern routes. He stressed that any agreement “does not mean that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened or remain closed,” contradicting Trump’s claim that the proposed deal would provide for its “immediate, complete, and total” reopening.

This is an extremely interesting video. (Ignore the title: they never get round to talking about migration!)

    Robert Barnes
and Brandon Weichert both have reliable contacts in Washington, close to and even in the White House.

The entire conversation is them exchanging, comparing and discussing what they've each personally been informed about how Donald Trump is influenced, how his personalty has changed, and how and why he's making his (increasingly bad) decisions.

The Big Lie Behind Ceuta: Why the West Is Collapsing

    Promethean Overviews
    August 3, 2026

    Summary:
    00:00 Introduction
    01:33 The Dissolution of Europe
02:14 The European Convention on Human Rights
    03:44 Rights Without Responsibility
06:11 How Globalization Gutted the West

    13:45 Ratzinger’s Eschatology
15:05 The Immortality of the Soul
17:31 The Metaphysical Recovery of the West

What does the crisis at Ceuta reveal about globalization, mass migration, and the deeper collapse of Western civilization?

In this overview, Mike Steger examines the political, economic, and philosophical forces behind the Ceuta border crisis. He argues that the chaos unfolding in Europe is not the result of one court ruling or one failed immigration policy, but the product of decades of globalization, deindustrialization, consumer materialism, and a system of rights detached from responsibility.

From the European Convention on Human Rights and the power of international courts to the destruction of Western manufacturing and national sovereignty, Mike explores how the modern rules-based order has weakened the ability of nations to defend their people and preserve their cultures.

The discussion then turns to the material rebuilding of civilization through energy, nuclear power, manufacturing, American technology, private credit, and international development. But economic recovery alone is not enough. Drawing on Joseph Ratzinger’s *Eschatology*, Mike argues that the survival of the West ultimately depends on restoring the immortality of the human soul, the image of God, and a moral understanding of what human beings are created to do.

    Topics include:
    • The Ceuta border crisis and mass migration into Europe
    • The European Convention on Human Rights
    • Article 3 and the legal battle over deportation
    • The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg
    • International courts and the rules-based global order
    • How globalization destroyed Western industry
    • Consumer technology and the false promise of material progress
    • The decline of manufacturing, shipyards, steel, and productive labor
    • President Trump’s industrial and nuclear energy agenda
    • American financing and nuclear development abroad
    • Rebuilding the electrical grid and domestic manufacturing
    • Joseph Ratzinger’s Eschatology
    • The immortality of the human soul
    • Rights, responsibility, and the image of God
    • Why the recovery of the West is ultimately metaphysical

Tara Reade: The US is handing its war machine to Israel
A new Pentagon-IDF tie-up deepens military integration while ordinary US citizens get more war, more debt, and less to hope for at home

    August 5, 2026

In the early 2000s, I worked with domestic violence victims in Seattle, Washington.

One of my trainers was a scrappy woman who told me she was a former member of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Looking back, I remember wondering why several former Mossad and IDF personnel were involved in training Seattle police officers. At the time, I didn’t think much of it. After all, they were working to help protect victims of domestic violence.

    Fast forward to 2026.

Buried inside the massive National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2027 is Section 219, a provision that creates what is officially called the United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative. In practical terms, it directs the Pentagon to deepen the integration of US and Israeli military research, defense technology development, weapons manufacturing, and military-industrial supply chains under a single coordinating framework. Critics argue that this represents an unprecedented level of institutional integration between the United States and a foreign military partner.

I recently sat down with Tucker Carlson on my podcast, East Meets West, and one of the questions I asked him was about this new level of military integration between the US and Israel. Tucker called it treason.

There’s a long track record of the United States, its people, its 350 million people, being misused by Israeli intelligence. And so the idea that you would merge them formally is a generational disaster… it’s the definition of treason. This is treason.

Many people agree with that assessment, and so do I.

Never before in US history has a foreign nation been granted this degree of institutional integration into America’s military research and defense industrial base. This goes well beyond the political influence of organizations like AIPAC or campaign spending in Washington. It reaches into the military-industrial infrastructure itself. It means shared research, shared development, shared procurement, and an even deeper intelligence relationship. Once these systems are intertwined, they are extraordinarily difficult to separate.

Meanwhile, ordinary US citizens are dealing with inflation, shrinking resources, crumbling infrastructure, and the continued erosion of the American dream. The promise of ending the endless wars now rings hollow.

Trump – the Trojan horse who convinced so many people he was different – has made even Biden’s hawkish foreign policy team look restrained by comparison. Trump reportedly accepted roughly $300 million in support from Miriam Adelson during his campaign while presenting himself as the anti-war candidate. Then came more bombs, more wars, and more chaos. He ignored the upcoming midterms and growing public opposition to foreign intervention while escalating the conflict with Iran.

Tucker Carlson remarked that Trump does not even like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally. Whether that is true or not is beside the point. Trump appears weak, compromised, and ultimately willing to advance Israel’s strategic objectives as the Middle East moves toward wider war.

The fate of the Palestinians has never been more desperate. While politicians deliver performative speeches about the catastrophe in Gaza and international courts debate Netanyahu’s future, the war continues. Trump appears almost gleeful about bombing Iran and dragging the US deeper into yet another Middle Eastern quagmire.

Back in 2025, I wrote and spoke optimistically that perhaps Trump would finally end America’s endless wars. I could not have been more wrong.

Instead, he has embraced and expanded Israel’s strategic agenda with little regard for the consent of the American people.

Now an even more troubling convergence is taking shape. The US and NATO’s proxy war with Russia through Ukraine is increasingly overlapping with the conflict involving Iran – not only through military resources, but through political messaging and public rhetoric.

The information war is raging as well. Influential figures such as Laura Loomer, who reportedly has Trump’s ear, continue to promote aggressively anti-Russian rhetoric and inflammatory calls that further escalate tensions.

As summer comes to an end, the drums of a broader world war seem louder than ever. Meanwhile, the American dream continues to die. For Israel, however, a new strategic era is only beginning.

The U.S. has massive amounts of “munitions,” especially of certain types. Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history. The “leakers” of these treasonous statements are being hunted down. Long term jail sentences will be sought! President DJT

IT'S OVER: Trump Just Dismantled the 300-Year City of London Empire

00:00 The Midweek Update - THEY LIED ABOUT IT ALL: Bessent's Yen Moves Just Proved Them All Wrong - August 5, 2026
01:53 The War in the Middle East Hits the City of London Hardest
06:04 Stabilizing Japan Also Screws the City of London
09:13 The Key Ingredients for America’s Economic Revolution

Barbara Boyd argues the media misrepresents both vaccine debates and President Trump’s actions, then links the Middle East war and Scott Bessent’s weekend intervention to support Japan’s yen as parts of a broader effort to break the post-1971 global financial order centered on Wall Street and the City of London.

She traces the shift after Bretton Woods, Rockefeller-era environmentalism, commodity speculation, and Biden-era “green” credit policies, saying Trump is rebuilding a production-based economy that requires regaining sovereignty over finance. Boyd says Gulf oil money flows and the Strait of Hormuz are a key weak point, and frames the Abraham Accords as “peace through development,” with Iran and proxies as obstacles.

She claims Bessent’s move hit the UK/EU via euro sales, aims to defuse the yen carry trade risk, and helps set up a “New Bretton Woods.” She also highlights Trump’s July 21 “Science, a New Golden Age” workforce upskilling agenda.

I don't understand this. Any indication of what "treasonous statements" Donald Trump is referring to in the above post? Does he mean anyone who claims the USA military is low on munitions at this time? In that case there would be many geopolitical analysts 'being hunted down'. Trump doesn't allow criticism it seems.
