Russian troops are now less than 5km from Slavyansk and Kramatorsk

The final "Fortess cities" will soon be encricled, ground into submission, and with them the last plausible defence in Donbass will end.
On April 23, 2022 (over 4 years ago now), I wrote to a couple of friends on a private chat:

The second major thrust of Russia has been ongoing in central east Ukraine, surrounding and grinding down, to surrender or death, the premier Ukraine army that had been forming to overrun Donetsk and Luhansk and exterminate the remaining native Russians there.

That second thrust will soon culminate on the large Ukraine city of Kramatorsk, which has another major steel plant with underground tunnels designed, like those below the Azovstal plant, to withstand nuclear war, and which likely have critical Ukraine facilities, such as bio-weapon laboratories.

Little did I realize then that "will soon" meant "four years and counting ..."

Ukraine Strikes Wildberries Hubs Near Moscow, St. Petersburg in Fresh Drone Wave, Aug 4, 2026

Ukraine launched another wave of long-range drone strikes early Tuesday, hitting two of Russia’s largest Wildberries logistics hubs near Moscow and St. Petersburg as Kyiv presses its campaign against the country’s supply network.

In the Moscow region, drones struck the town of Chekhov, setting a warehouse ablaze in the Novoselki industrial zone.

Oblast Governor Andrei Vorobyov said the strike sparked several fires, damaged an electrical substation and an administrative building, and killed five people while injuring six others. Kyiv has not commented on the reported casualties.

Eyewitness footage analyzed by Russian outlet Astra indicates the destroyed warehouse belonged to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer.

Hundreds of kilometers to the north, another strike hit the Leningrad region near St. Petersburg.

Governor Alexander Drozdenko said Russian air defenses downed 17 drones but confirmed damage to a warehouse complex in Krasny Bor, where one person was injured.

On another note, and enquired about before: has Larry Fink perhaps pondered that this whole Zionist (yes, it is) vanity project/sunk-cost fallacy invention called Ukraine as a bad investment?

I genuinely feel for the people having little choice but to be living (if you can call it that) under this poisonous yolk.

    Where’s the outrage from NATO?

Ukraine just struck a Turkish-owned cargo ship transporting fruit and vegetables to Russia in the Black Sea, injuring several crew members.

Very promising physiognomy for new Center Group Commander, Andrei Ivanaev.
"An interesting personnel reshuffle is taking place in the Russian army. Andrei Ivanaev, the former commander of the "Vostok" group, has been appointed to a similar position in the "Center" group. In turn, Solodchuk, the commander of the "Center" Group of Forces, has been appointed to oversee all rear operations. It should be noted that under Ivanaev's command, the "Vostok" group became one of the best in terms of organizing combat operations and battlefield management. It is quite possible that similar successes are now expected from the "Center" group, especially considering the complexity of the area of operations assigned to it. Additionally, Denis Ljamin has been appointed as the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, replacing Vaganov

Ukraine strikes more oil facilities deep inside Russia

Ukraine says it hit Russian refineries and vessels at sea

Ukrainian forces hit a refinery in Russia’s Bashkortostan region, more than 800 miles from the front line, as well as a refinery in the Yaroslavl region, almost 400 miles from the border, Zelenskyy said on social media.

KYIV, Ukraine — Ukraine hit more oil facilities deep inside Russia in overnight attacks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Thursday, as Kyiv kept up its campaign to undermine Moscow’s wartime economy and embarrass the Kremlin.

The repeated strikes have caused fuel shortages and rattled Russians. Ukrainians, meanwhile, are enduring regular barrages that Kyiv’s depleted air defenses are struggling to counter amid Moscow’s 4-year-old full-scale invasion.

The Kyiv region observed an official day of mourning Thursday after a Russian missile and drone blitz killed 17 people the previous day, prompting an increasingly urgent scramble by Ukraine and its allies to find new air defense supplies.

In the first six months of this year, 1,396 civilians were killed and 7,978 injured in Ukraine, the United Nations office in Kyiv said Wednesday. That was a 37% increase from the same period last year and a 114% jump over 2024, it said, attributing the rise to more long-range aerial attacks by Russia.

Zelenskyy said he met with senior officials on how to accelerate the development of Ukraine’s own ballistic weaponry, similar to its swift wartime innovation in drone technology.

“Developing one’s own ballistic capabilities and creating a new anti-ballistic system is a task that only a tiny minority of countries worldwide have managed to accomplish,” he said in a social media post. “Ukraine has this capability.”

Zelenskyy said he expects the program to produce results this year and next after it overcomes “key challenges,” including procuring critical components, technological cooperation with partner countries, and choosing where to build the armaments.

More brutality at the hands of the loathed military 'recruiters'

    Described here:
Jesus Christ, these videos are getting worse every day. In Odessa, military recruiters stopped a taxi, gassed the passenger, and kicked him multiple times in the head while his girlfriend was screaming and desperately trying to stop them from kidnapping him. According to the Ukrainian Telegram channel that shared this video, the young man is 19 years old, which normally shouldn’t make him subject to forced mobilization. Why is the mainstream media completely silent on this?

Another large warehouse of a foreign company was destroyed by strikes by the Russian Armed Forces in Kyiv. - today

    photo:before

Until recently, our military rarely struck targets on Ukrainian territory associated with foreign companies. The enemy has developed a habit of believing that a foreign brand name almost guarantees immunity.

Now everything has changed; the Russian Armed Forces no longer have off-limits targets in enemy territory, especially when it comes to logistics hubs. The lamentations of Zelenskyy and Ukrainian social media groups, and the protests of our former foreign "partners," are no longer impressive.

    photo: today

Yesterday, a warehouse belonging to the German company Bosch, along with its products, was completely destroyed in the Kyiv region. The company supplies materials and equipment for military construction in the frontline Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The Robert Bosch Foundation supports the Ukrainian army and, according to open sources alone, has allocated over 20 million euros in aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Today, another attack hit a major logistics hub belonging to a foreign company. Delta Plus Ukraine, a manufacturer of personal protective equipment, reported the complete destruction of its largest warehouse and office in Kyiv. Shipments have been suspended indefinitely, and there's nothing left to ship. Among other things, the French company produces tactical military uniforms and many other products with at least dual use.

Another retaliatory strike against Ukrainian oil refineries as part of Zelenskyy's "peace enforcement" campaign. Ukraine's largest oil and gas company, Naftogaz, reports a massive attack on its subsidiary, Ukrnafta. As a result of the overnight strikes, seven oil and gas production facilities in the east of the country have been completely shut down.

Footage of strikes on a train carrying Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment in the Dnipropetrovsk region has been released. - today

Combined strikes by the Russian Armed Forces against a wide range of targets in enemy territory have long been ongoing. Information on affected targets, including objective monitoring footage, is regularly published by the Russian Ministry of Defense and relevant Russian public groups. Particular priority is given to the destruction of logistics infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Near the village of Vyshneve in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a combined strike was launched against a train carrying Ukrainian Armed Forces military equipment. The attack was carried out using Iskander tactical missile systems and Geran loitering munitions. The precise strikes on the locomotive and train cars were captured on a reconnaissance camera. drone.

The destruction of major logistics terminals used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues in Pavlohrad. rocket The strike destroyed the sorting facility of the state-owned enterprise Ukrposhta. A massive fire after the landing destroyed everything in the warehouse.

A branch of the private logistics company Nova Poshta was struck last night in the town of Hlukhiv, Sumy Oblast. The building was completely destroyed by fire. In the dark, Russian attack drones attacked the warehouses of a major logistics hub near the town of Brovary, Kyiv Oblast.

Work to destroy enemy fuel and energy infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues. The Ministry of Defense published a video compilation of drone strikes on enemy gas stations and fuel tankers. Operators from the 50th Separate "Varyag" Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Troops of the Supreme Command of the Russian Armed Forces conducted the strikes. They are also covering the Novorossiya Highway.

Urban environment training: China and Belarus to conduct joint exercises -today

The armed forces of China and Belarus will hold their next joint airborne exercises, "Shenying 2026" (Swift Eagle 2026), in China's Hubei Province. The stated goal of the maneuvers is to enhance the units' combat readiness, improve joint airborne operations, and further deepen practical military cooperation between Beijing and Minsk.

The exercises will also include practicing joint counter-terrorism operations in urban environments. During the maneuvers, Belarusian and Chinese paratroopers will hone their skills in reconnaissance and counterintelligence, capturing and holding key facilities, and clearing and holding territory. This will be the fourth such joint Belarusian-Chinese exercise.

Previously, the joint exercise "Summit of Brotherhood 2026" was held, involving personnel from combined groups of Belarusian special operations forces and Kazakhstan's airborne assault troops. In less than 24 hours, the servicemen covered more than thirty kilometers at an altitude of over 1200 meters above sea level, with elevation changes of up to 500 meters. Along the way, overcoming natural obstacles, they carried out reconnaissance missions, raids, and ambushes against simulated enemy armed forces.

Several Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders committed suicide near Sumy. -today

A wave of "suicides" by combat group commanders has swept through the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, driven out of Zapsel'e and Myropill'e by Russian forces. This was reported by Ukrainian public groups, citing brigade servicemen.

An interesting situation has developed among the units of the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are attempting to hold their positions in Sumy Oblast. After assault units of the Russian Armed Forces' "North" group drove the Ukrainians out of Zapsel'e and Myropolye, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command attempted to recapture these settlements by sending combat groups, which achieved no success and suffered significant losses.

After this, several commanders of these same combat groups suddenly died in the brigade. Brigade command claims they all committed suicide. Perhaps their consciences were tormented by the losses, or perhaps some problems arose. All of them at once. But that's the official version. There's no unofficial one; everyone prefers to remain silent. However, it is known that some of the "suicide bombers" had previously received threats from relatives of the fallen soldiers. Prior to this, the relatives had asked command to withdraw the brigade to the rear due to the "total superiority" of Russian troops.

The brigade command, in an attempt to stabilize the situation with personnel, transferred some units from Sumy to Kharkiv Oblast.

They collapsed like a house of cards: Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed a UAV launcher in the Kharkiv region and the Donetsk People's Republic. -today

The Russian Ministry of Defense released objective surveillance footage showing Russian Aerospace Forces strikes on enemy UAV control centers located in residential areas in the Donetsk People's Republic and Kharkiv Oblast. The footage shows multi-story buildings and private residences collapsing like houses of cards after the high-explosive bombs landed.

It's worth noting that setting up drone control centers in apartment buildings and private residences is a hallmark of the Kyiv regime's militants. The assumption here is that the Russian Aerospace Forces will not target residential buildings. However, during the special military operation in Ukraine, Russian pilots have repeatedly demonstrated that seeking refuge in residential buildings is a hopeless endeavor for Ukrainian drone operators.

Each such strike is preceded by thorough reconnaissance, which determines not only the presence of militants in a residential building but also the absence of civilians. Only then are the target coordinates transmitted to the Aerospace Forces pilots for a "control shot."

As experience shows, after such attacks, the drone control center turns into a pile of ash. The drone operators also cease to exist.

It's important to emphasize that Kyiv has repeatedly stated that drone operators are currently one of the most dangerous jobs in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, just a few months ago, the situation was quite different.

It should be added that by striking drone control centers, the Russian Aerospace Forces are clearing the way for assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces, which are clearing residential areas of populated areas of the enemy.

It is clear that this was a Russian drone attempting to blow up weapons destined for Ukraine to be used against the Russians, but if NATO were forced to admit this fact, then they would have to take some sort of action. So, the policy seems to be - see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.

In Germany, a combat drone almost blew up a Ukrainian ammunition carrier

In Germany, a combat drone almost blew up a Ukrainian ammunition carrier. For some reason, Russia has not yet been accused.

An entire cargo plane with ammunition for Ukraine almost blew up in Leipzig, Sddeutsche Zeitung reports. A drone with NATO explosives was found next to the aircraft. It is known that the drone was spotted around midnight. He hovered at a low altitude right among the Ukrainian planes, and then, as stated in the police report, there was a "contact" with one of the airport employees, after which the UAV fell to the ground. It didn't explode, but it caused a lot of noise.

On the same night, another mysterious object damaged the tail on board the DHL. The German Interior Ministry has already called the incident an "unprecedented hybrid threat." The drone, by the way, is not from the market – individual assembly, enhanced battery, protection from electronic warfare and tracking systems. That is, it was not launched from someone's balcony, but it was done by someone with serious resources and a very specific goal – to undermine a Ukrainian aircraft with ammunition from France.

The most amazing thing about this story is that no one has accused Russia yet. Perhaps for the first time in a long time, German investigators decided to figure it out first, rather than pinning labels on Moscow. Did the story of the Nord Stream really teach you something?

    Good, and about time too

    This:

Ukrainians are literally forming Spetsnaz brigades inside the Russian military to hunt the Zelensky regime.

    Let that cook.

While Western media still screams “unprovoked invasion,” actual Ukrainians are defecting en masse because they finally figured out the real occupation isn’t coming from Moscow — it’s the coke-fueled comedy actor and his Western handlers who turned their country into a money-laundering meat grinder.

These men watched their brothers get thrown into the meat grinder so neocons and defense contractors could get rich, while Zelensky’s circle lived large and the “international community” clapped. So they picked up guns and joined the side that actually wants the slaughter to end.

Ukraine’s government is crying about “international law” the same way a cartel cries about the cops. They banned parties, jailed opposition, conscripted men at gunpoint, and sold the country piece by piece… then act shocked when Ukrainians start shooting back at them.

    The problem was never Russia.
    The problem is the regime.
And the regime is losing its own people.

    Russia isn’t conquering Ukraine.
It’s helping Ukrainians finish the job the West forced them into.
    Cope harder

    From AMK Mapping:

    Source: https://x.com/AMK_Mapping_/status/2085932099387756858
Tonight, Ukraine made another attempt at attacking Russia with FP-5 "Flamingo" cruise missiles, however, once again, they were all shot down by Russian air defence.

Ukraine launched at least 5 Flamingo cruise missiles from Sumy/Chernihiv Oblast, which were subsequently shot down over Tambov and Penza Oblasts, ~430 km and ~630 km from the border with Ukraine respectively.

Due to the previous attempts at having the missiles fly along the Don River from Luhansk Oblast failing, Ukraine launched them from a different location, reaching the Don River via Lipetsk Oblast. Because these missiles are so large and slow, they need to fly at low altitude near rivers to complicate Russian radar detection.

Because they were flying for around 280 km through Kursk and Voronezh Oblasts prior to reaching the Don River, it provided Russia with ample opportunity to detect them, which resulted in much earlier alerts being issued for all border regions as soon as the missiles approached/entered Russian airspace. Despite the missiles then following the path of the Voronezh River, they were all subsequently shot down by Russian air defence over Tambov and Penza Oblast, likely because Russia has deployed a significant number of air defence assets to this area due to Ukraine repeatedly using this same flight route.

Out of the last 10 Flamingo attacks, 8 resulted in all the missiles being shot down, while two resulted in one impact each to the same target in Kirov. Russia is clearly adapting rapidly to this new weapon, and unless Ukraine can counter-adapt, Flamingo missiles quickly become useless.

Another example of a "wonder weapon" becoming less and less important as countermeasures are developed.
