Why it's often hard to participate.

About 6 months ago I made a contribution to a political candidate.

since then, I have been barraged by phone calls solicitors for donations, emails, non stop, making me regret my decision.

This is sad and frustrating. I see many a good cause , a good petition Id like to sign and submit, but I hesitate and cannot endure the constant calls and emails.

Blocking them doesn't seem to work Like sharks they smell blood / MONEY in the offing and dont care, they will not stop

anyone else have a problem with this?

Just think of the kind of pressure those callers are under,
coming from bosses who believe that without maximum propaganda,
advertising, fund raising, and coercion their campaign will end in a lost election.
They need their dumbed-down populace for the manipulation to work.

Change will come only when enough people have woken up to the idea that independent investigation and voluntary contributions are the only way forward.

I could not agree more. I once signed a petition when I was in college for a very worthwhile event, and the Washington Post (which did not support the cause) printed all the names of the people who signed the petition along with a very negative story.

Also, I have donated to causes that I feel strongly about, and I have gotten inundated with solicitations. I have learned my lesson. I will only donate money now if it can be done anonymously. I have made exceptions, but very rarely. It truly is sad.

I am happy that I can changed lives to many people... for years.. every few months I am contributing some money to good causes the company I chose... I am happy for that!
But I think the company I chose, sold my address ... Now I am receiving many requests from different "humanitarian and political" addresses....
I still support my chosen one....

and then this will be interpreted as an apathetic and indifferent public. what a conundrum.

Many of those requests for donations come with the option of "Do not forward my personal information". If they don't, then it's safer to not donate. That will encourage a more respectful approach down the line among those seeking donations.

i do the 11 a month donation to Tunnels to Towers. I think its one of the best most legit charities out there. Along with Project Avalon
