TAnd it was on the news today: a small village (less than 650 people there) was almost completely wiped out... by a tornado!
Tornados are a very rare occurrence in Europe, and a devastating one like in the village of Pomas, is even rarer.
    Here's the BBC report:

(A personal note: I've been there myself, back in 2012, where I spent half a day with Rennes-le-Château researcher Henry Lincoln, who lived nearby.)

Tornado tears through French village, leaving dozens hurt and homes ravaged

A tornado has torn through the village of Pomas in south-west France, injuring 39 people and damaging hundreds of homes.

Authorities said 15 people were taken to hospital and two were in a critical condition. One man said his pregnant wife was injured after their house collapsed on her.

More than 120 emergency workers were deployed to the village south of Carcassonne after winds reaching 117km/h (73mph) tore roofs off houses and damaged an estimated 300 homes on Monday.

"Half the village has been destroyed," said one resident called Pierre, who described the tornado as swirling like a "huge red and yellow chimney".

"There's a huge castle and a third of it is has collapsed - even though these are stones that have stood for 1,000 years," Pierre told Ici Occitanie.

There have already been cases of mini-tornadoes in recent years, one of which passed through my grandfather’s garden before going to do some damage at the nearby campsite. From memory, in the 2010s. But now, it’s on a different level and never seen before in France...

Some time ago, I decided to practice doing forward rolls. Since I used to sleep on a mattress on the floor, I could do them whenever I wanted. One of those days, while riding my bike down a steep descent, I took a curve too fast and couldn't brake in time. I ended up falling into a ditch, my front wheel got stuck, and I flew headfirst toward the ground. I was able to instinctively roll forward, avoiding crashing my face into the pavement. If I hadn't practiced rolling, I think I would have seriously injured myself. I got some bruises, but nothing serious. Where did that urge or joy to practice rolling come from? My conscious intention was never to prepare for a fall. This time the inner voice spoke to me after the event: "Now you know why you were doing rolls."

I call these feelings intuitions, and to my shame I have ignored most of them through a general lack of understanding/belief.

I won't ever ignore them again. 'nuff said!
So, time to expand on this, (after reading so many other contributions).

Around 1995, cannot be certain, I was in Amsterdam with a friend having a mini-break, (aka a few drinks)! We had gone into this Deli for a bite between bars. Graham, my friend, is telling me something but I am only half-listening, staring over his shoulder into the night sky/scene outside the window. I am not focused on anything, more like gazing at a painting in a gallery.

Quite suddenly my vision changed. I'm looking behind me, central to the view is the man reaching into the counter for some smoked ham. The vision zoomed in to just his fingers picking said ham up. Then I was staring out the window again, Graham was still talking. Nothing outward was seen. (Most of you probably already know what the 'sign' was.) I was oblivious, never even occurred to me, though I did often think on it but more with amazement and wonder than any kind of attempted interpretation.

We are due to leave the small hotel at 07:00 hrs to make our flight back. It is 03:00, sharp stomach cramp and into the bathroom. It is about 07:10 when I finally feel fit to leave the little room having suffered cold sweats, numerous violent cramps and the rest needs no description. Graham has already left.

I never forgot it, I mean, you wouldn't would you.

I was dismantling a shed by pulling nails with a crow bar, an image came into my mind of the brother in law of a friend, who lost an eye hammering a nail, the next nail I pulled very carefully, it still came out much more violently than any other, but I was able to avoid it.
