SHOT reports that CIA Director John Ratcliffe is likely meeting Sergei Naryshkin, head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, during his visit to Moscow.

The two intelligence chiefs first spoke by telephone in March 2025 and subsequently established a direct channel intended to manage crises and reduce tensions between Moscow and Washington. The purpose of Ratcliffe’s reported visit hasn't been officially disclosed.

    At last...

Poroshenko's assets were destroyed: Gerani missiles hit warehouses near Kyiv and Kharkiv. -today

Ukrainian media outlets report the destruction of another Varus retail chain warehouse in the Kyiv region by Geranium missiles during the day. Furthermore, this morning, as a result of a massive attack by strike forces drones A warehouse belonging to the Roshen company, known to belong to the first president of post-Maidan Ukraine, Poroshenko* (*listed by Rosfinmonitoring as a terrorist and extremist), was struck near Kiev.

The company claims that the warehouses contained only finished products from Poroshenko's confectionery factory*, but the former Ukrainian president recently boasted of a large batch drones, weapons, and ammunition purchased for subsequent transfer to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is the second attack on Poroshenko's* company's warehouse facilities since the beginning of the year. In February, a Roshen warehouse in Yagotyn was completely destroyed. Geranium missiles were also reported to have struck the last remaining Epicenter supermarket chain in Kharkiv, known for its close cooperation with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian experts fear that Kyiv could soon face near-round-the-clock attacks from Geranium rockets. The enemy notes that the Russian Armed Forces are changing their tactics and increasingly striking not only energy infrastructure facilities but also warehouses, logistics centers, and other targets, thereby systematically weakening the remnants of the Ukrainian economy and creating relentless pressure on the home front.

Given the significant increase in production of Geranium jets and other attack drones, it is likely that air raid sirens in Kyiv will soon sound almost continuously, significantly paralyzing life in the Ukrainian capital.

Nine Russian military servicemen have been rescued from torture cells for prisoners in Ukraine through negotiations, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova has said. TASS has compiled the main points of the ombudswoman’s statements:

Rescue of 9 Russian soldiers from ‘shadow captivity’ in Ukraine: statement by ombudswoman

According to Yana Lantratova, Russian servicemen spend several months in torture cells before being transferred to general captivity

MOSCOW, August 27. /TASS/. Nine Russian military servicemen have been rescued from torture cells for prisoners in Ukraine through negotiations, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova has said.

TASS has compiled the main points of the ombudswoman’s statements.

    Torture cells

Torture cells for prisoners: "There’s more than one type of captivity there. There’s general captivity, where the International Red Cross comes and which is open, but how many torture cells are there?"

Months in captivity: Russian servicemen often spend several months in such cells before being transferred to general captivity. "To end up in general captivity, our guys often spend several months, sometimes up to nine months, in these cells," Lantratova said.

    Rescuing servicemen from ‘shadow captivity’

Nine servicemen rescued: Negotiations have secured the release of nine Russian servicemen from "shadow captivity." "Now, thanks to communication and negotiations, we have already managed to secure the release of nine guys from this shadow captivity," Lantratova said.

Hope for families: Lantratova called the effort particularly important because relatives of servicemen listed as missing in action or even presumed killed may still have hope that their son, brother or father will return home.

Lists of servicemen: On July 8, Lantratova said she had a list of Russian servicemen believed to be held in "shadow captivity." "We are also addressing this situation; we call it ‘shadow captivity,’ and I have lists of the guys who are there," she said.

Recent prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine

August 26: A 10-for-10 prisoner exchange took place in Belarus, Lantratova said. On August 24, a Belarusian television channel had reported another 10-for-10 exchange involving Russian and Ukrainian citizens in Belarus’ Gomel Region.

August 19: The latest major prisoner exchange took place, with 103 Russian servicemen returned from Kiev-controlled territory and 103 Ukrainian prisoners of war transferred in exchange.

June 26: Russia and Ukraine conducted a 160-for-160 exchange, with 160 Russian servicemen returned from Ukrainian captivity and 160 Ukrainian servicemen transferred to Ukraine.

June 5: The sides conducted a 185-for-185 prisoner exchange.

Posted by an X commentator (SlavicPatriot) and I've yet to see a better articulation of where we seem to be at. I haven't checked the Doomsday Clock for a while, but the globalist private military group (NATO) may want to go out all guns blazing. That's what losing looks like....for everyone. F**k NATO, they are nothing more than Satan's mercenaries, to which I may now refer to them as.

    __________________________________
I'm watching NATO push Russia toward a response that terrifies me.
Let me walk through what's actually happening.

The Kursk incursion wasn't a Ukrainian operation. It was NATO. Real-time satellite data. AI intelligence collecting digital and mobile network information showing exactly where Russian troops were positioned. Special NATO operatives and Ukrainian forces got guided deep into Russian territory by technology and planning they don't have on their own.

That's a red line people who lived through the 60s and 70s would never have considered crossing. Direct NATO operations inside Russia. Not weapons. Not training. Active intelligence coordination for a ground invasion.

Then Ukrainian forces following that incursion killed civilians. Another line crossed.

Then drones deployed from makeshift trucks attacked Russian nuclear bomber bases. Targeting the strategic deterrence force. The weapons designed to prevent exactly this kind of escalation.

Every step calculated. Every line deliberately crossed.

Here's what makes this dangerous: the West knows Russia doesn't want nuclear war. Russia never planned for global conflict. They responded to Ukraine's NATO membership trajectory because their security demanded it. Not because they wanted World War III.

But NATO is facing irrelevance. The alliance needs a purpose. It needs an enemy. It needs escalation to justify its existence and its budgets.

So watch the contradiction in Western media: Russia is too weak to advance on the battlefield. Russia is also an existential threat that could invade Europe any day.

Both statements can't be true. But both serve the same goal.

They want to make Russia look weak enough that pushing them further seems safe. While simultaneously making Russia look threatening enough that massive military spending stays justified.

The strategy is clear: push Russia into retaliating. Cross enough red lines that Moscow has to respond with something NATO can call escalation. Then use that response to flip Western economies onto war footing.

Because those economies are beyond saving through normal means. The debt is too high. The infrastructure is too broken. The political systems are too captured.

A war with a big payout at the end solves everything. Wipes debt. Rebuilds industry. Unites divided populations. Access to Russian resources makes it all worth it.

That's the gamble. Push a nuclear power until they snap. Then use their response to justify what you wanted to do anyway.

That bet scares me more than anything I've seen in 25 years.

    Ooosh

Apparently Russia has engaged in a near non-stop 53 hour (!) bombardment of Ukrainian logistics. I knew they'd ramped things up but that's relentless, and although I was sceptical about the long traffic jams being filmed being any more than (perhaps) extra chaos caused by these attacks it does now seem as if citizens have indeed begun evacuating: that would make sense.

The below videos capture the aftermath of Russian ballistic missile strikes on an ammunition storage depot somewhere in Kiev Oblast, and again, situated recklessly close to where people's homes are:

    ___________________________

Traffic queues afternoon and evening of August 27th and 28th:

    ________________________

Scenes on the Kiev metro network: these may not necessarily be evacuation attempts but perhaps just peak time rush-hour activity although some must surely be trying to get out:

Thanks, hugely , and a most excellent and likely accurate summary of these events: succinct, clear, and I might add, gravely concerning

I agree, yes, that the 'deep state' really did activate their assets here. A reminder too that Ukraine's actual creation was due in no small part to Vatican funding and involvement at its inception. As Alexander correctly points out, it was Europe's only player, if you like, as Russia have lost patience and have no time for the current European leadership or its representatives.

Not surprised. The BBC and the entirety of Western corporate media are garbage.🗑

"British state broadcaster the BBC this week ran a major story drumming up the alleged Russia threat and supposed looming retaliatory attacks on UK drone factories supplying Ukraine. The chilly warning purportedly came from a top Russian official – except that the individual in question has not been one in over three decades.

At first glance, the piece titled “UK drone factories may face attacks from ‘unknown sources,’ says Kremlin adviser” looked legit, based on comments made on BBC Newsnight by Andrey Fedorov. The broadcaster presented the interviewee as a heavyweight Russian official, describing him as a “Kremlin adviser” and “Russia’s former deputy foreign minister.”

The latter is partially true: Fedorov was the deputy minister in the RSFSR, the Russian republic of the USSR, between October 1990 and October 1991 prior to the formal dissolution of the Soviet Union. The other claim, however, is completely false. Fedorov used to be an adviser to Russia’s vice president until late 1993, the same year the vice president position was abolished, and has not held any public office since. Over the past decade, he has been best known as a political commentator and a media personality, frequenting assorted Russian political talk shows.

BBC tries to hide fake news

The piece survived for around five hours on BBC’s website before it was quietly amended. Fedorov was ‘demoted’ to a “pro-Kremlin commentator who frequently appears on Russian television,” yet no official retraction of the initial claim was made. The description, while still debatable, given that Fedorov is known for frequently spelling doom and gloom for Moscow, citing his purported high-ranking sources at home and overseas, is not explicitly untrue.

The BBC also did not do a particularly good job of purging the fake, which survived on several of its platforms. A BBC Newsnight Facebook post on the matter still cryptically describes Fedorov as a “President Putin ally” at the moment of the publication, while its post on X claims the commentator “advises President Putin.”

The BBC interview with Fedorov was spread across British media alongside his false depiction as a “Putin adviser.” Unlike the source, outlets that reprinted the fake news never bothered to amend it.

Some outlets even managed to outperform the original. The Express, for instance, described Fedorov simultaneously as a “high-ranking Kremlin official” and “high-level Kremlin insider.”
