Not in France, fires are often criminal and some are talking for the Gironde's fires of big solar panels project for the area.

But we've never seen such extrem and long hot wave. In my region, it rained just one day since the beginning of June. Lands and flora are burning, crakling, rivers and lakes levels are extremely low. Temperatures are so unsual ( Today 38°C again, at home). It's heartbreaking for all gardens and crops ( corn don't grow and is drying ). Even insects like bees and others are unsually rare ( not flowers, no food). Fauna is at high risk too.

A lot of french vegetables productions are stopped or agonizing because of the lack of water and excess heat, we see penury of products like salads, tomatoes, fruits... Only those who have a shadowy garden and water reserves can save their vegetables. Even permaculture tricks are unable to stop such a water stress.



The fires have displaced 220.000 people. And for the first time, Fontainbleau forest near Paris have been burned too. But something in all the story for Gironde's area made me really thought to what we've witnessed in the North'Carolina disaster :

- Curioulsy, the means necessary to combat the catastroph are quite non-existant : the poor canadair fleet that we have is partly under maintenance at the time of year they should be ready. I don't talked about all the ones that was promised to be bought by our fantastic president at the beginning of his mandate, we've never seen, of course.

- The firemans are litterally blocked by a technic european norm that require for some vehicles to get some anti pollution additives (adblue). "In the event of an empty tank or a system failure, the vehicle may lose power or refuse to restart, a constraint particularly criticized by firefighters during emergency interventions. Indeed, rescue trucks, which drive little (3,000 to 4,000 km/year) but use their engines continuously for water pumps, quickly empty their tanks, sometimes forcing them to remove vehicles from the fire front for refueling"

-The civil people that wants to help, like farmers with water tanks, are not only considered by the police force like unwanted but even like criminals. Some have witnessed being arrested and registered while at the contrary, firemens gave them before advices to be more in security to help.

- The prefect of the region expressed clearly at TV that civil help and solidarity is not desired, "let us do, we control".

One billion of euros have been put on the table for depolluting the Seine for the Olympics Games and a photo of the Mayor of Paris paddling like a frog.

And we are unable to have the life-saving means for preserving our territory.

"Japan was hit by Typhoon Dolphin just days after a deadly earthquake devastated parts of the country. On August 7, the Category 1 storm battered the southern islands with powerful winds, torrential rain and dangerous waves, forcing nearly 260,000 people to evacuate and disrupting more than 500 flights.

Dolphin also triggered major economic disruption, with Toyota suspending production at nine factories as authorities warned of worsening conditions. The storm's outer rain bands were also sweeping across Kyushu, where communities were still recovering from the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that killed 38 people on July 28.

Dolphin was then forecast to cross the East China Sea before reaching China's eastern coast between Zhejiang and Fujian. Chinese authorities raised emergency preparations, halted offshore construction and evacuated thousands from vulnerable islands.

Five days ago a deep M6.3 struck below the Kermedec Islands (North of New Zealand) prompting me to do a live youtube update livestream.
In the live stream (not saved) the warning was issued to watch for a shallower larger earthquake up to 1 magnitude larger than the deep M6.3 to spread up out and away from the Kermedecs, bringing South America into the mix.
Additionally we now must watch New Zealand to the South and Indonesia to the West.
The exact antipode of this M7.4 in Colombia is Sumatra Indonesia! More on the antipode earthquake study:

(I figured the update for July was going to take time to compile, with so much wild/space weather, fires, etc. happening in July, but here it is at last, with lots of notes to complete the picture...
The numbers of fatalities given here for China are no doubt from the official CCP report, which never reflect the true numbers.
Given how much flooding there was there and how the people are seldom given any warning of coming floods, the fatalities were doubtless much, much higher.))

"July 2026 opened with the Sun marking its own Independence Day.
On the 4th, Active Region 4479 produced an X1.3 flare, the strongest of the month, triggering an R3 radio blackout, and skywatchers across the northern US got aurora with their fireworks that same night.
It was the leading edge of what turned out to be the busiest stretch of the month: Australia's space weather bureau logged 52 M-class flares and that single X-class event across all of July, with activity concentrated almost entirely in the first week before the pace eased.
By the 23rd, sunspot region AR4493 had grown into the largest and most magnetically complex region but held at C-class through the month's end.
Fifty-two M-class flares in a month most people would call "quiet" is what "post-maximum" actually looks like for this cycle.

On July 9, NOAA's Climate Prediction Center reported El Niño strengthening fast enough to push the odds of a very strong event this winter from 63% to 81% in a single month.
The weekly Niño 3.4 index climbed to +1.2°C, the eastern Pacific ran hotter still at +2.7°C, and forecasters now put the odds of the event persisting through early 2027 at 97%.
If it verifies, this one sits alongside 1982-83, 1997-98, and 2015-16 as one of the four strongest since 1950, and every one of those three prior events broke sharply toward cooling within a few years of its peak.

Meanwhile, the sheets of rain continue to fall:
Pakistan's monsoon killed 31 and injured more than 120 in rain-related incidents.
Afghanistan's flash floods killed at least 23, with roughly 100 more missing.
South Gujarat took nearly 4 feet of rain in 36 hours, forcing 22,000 relocations and 1,200 rescues.
Jammu and Kashmir, India, recorded 11 dead, 360,000 affected in flash floods from incessant overnight rain.
Gujarat's Surat flooded under a record 19 inches of rain in 24 hours, the heaviest in 85 years, killing 9.
A rain-triggered landslide in northwest China killed 21.
A flash flood at a campsite in northwestern China killed 10 and injured 23.
Sichuan, China logged a record-breaking 8.8 inches of rain in just 6 hours, sweeping away cars and animals.

Southern Missouri took over a foot of rain in under 12 hours, prompting a state of emergency.
One flood story landed with a particular weight of déjà vu.
Almost exactly a year after the catastrophic July 2025 Guadalupe River flood that killed dozens in Kerr County, the same stretch of Texas Hill Country flooded again on July 16.
The Guadalupe River gauge at Center Point rose 32 feet in four hours; at Hunt, it went from 9 feet to 37 feet in under three hours.
Some areas took 20 inches of rain in 48 hours, about six months' worth of rain in two days.

Bordeaux and Madrid were both directly threatened.

Winter tightened its grip hard on the Southern Hemisphere.
Argentina and Chile's Andes took 10 feet of snow in three days by mid-month; by July 26, the storm total at Chile's Portillo ski resort had passed 17 feet in just nine days.
Three days after that, snow was burying vehicles and trapping more than 100 tourists in the Argentine Andes.
That's not one storm.

A magnitude-7.3 earthquake struck off southern Mexico near the Guatemala border, triggering a brief tsunami alert across three countries before it was lifted with no major damage reported.

The month's other noteworthy event struck Japan on July 28.
A magnitude-6.8 earthquake hit Kumamoto Prefecture on Kyushu Island, in the same region devastated by the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake. A shopping mall partially collapsed after what officials believe was a gas explosion, trapping employees inside; roughly 300,000 people were ordered to evacuate, and a tsunami advisory was issued and then lifted for the Ariake and Yatsushiro seas.
The confirmed dead climbed past 39 within days, with hundreds more injured, as thousands of military personnel joined the rescue effort.

My village have just known 3cm diameter hailstones and a huge windgust that did not last, but some trees have fallen.

It was far more epic some kilometers away, and hailstones up to 6 cm have devasted rooftops and cars.

Most recently... tragical events at Nepal-Tibet ( China ) Gyirong border crossing /August 26/
more than 600 people , mostly pilgrims to the sacred Kailash / Mansarovar in Tibet which is thousands years old spiritual and geomantic "centre" hidden deep within the Himalayas
were swept by a water , mud and debris wall after one of the glaciers slided to the valley.
More than 2000 people including international tourists who were in the area and downstream are still missing.
Both China and Nepal sent rescue teams immediately and search for survivors still continues as of today , no matter the level of difficulty, due to roughness of the landslide it's also difficult to identify bodies .

Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev lost 80 people ( whole group ) who were on the way back and just hit the border check point at 9.30 AM ( Kathmandu time, that is Indian Standard Time plus 15 minutes ) .

Eye witnesses , survivors report that rumbling noise was heard at 9.22 AM and cloud of vapour observed coming from beneath the mountains pointing to possible geological subduction ( earthquake was never confirmed ),
after which the water mass of 1000 olympic swimming pools hurled down at 9.56 AM , without warning leaving little time to escape.

One brave school teacher in Nepal saved 1640 students by ordering immediate evacuation making them all run uphill to safety.

Thank you Harmony ✨✨✨ We are in different part of Himalayas ( the last earthquake - Kangra earthquake, 1905 - is long overdue but impossible to predict , plenty of "small jolts" happen ) ,
landslides and flash floods happen regularly during the rainy season ( July to early October ) otherwise keeping safe ,
personal situation is still "looming disaster" but it does not count as "weather".
