🚨BREAKING🚨: The Former Navy Chief Oceanographer says he may have found Atlantis – that the location matches Plato’s description – and that he plans to dive on it in the coming year. He also says UFOs are operating in Earth's oceans, and the government has been tracking them for years. Officials holding the footage admit they don't know what these objects are. Finally, he reveals that he personally investigated a UFO crash retrieval that occurred during the 1962 high altitude nuclear test in the Marshall Islands (called Bluegill Triple Prime). Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet (@GallaudetTim ) ran the Navy's entire oceanography enterprise and then NOAA. He says a Navy intelligence commander sent a message to over a hundred officials across agencies, on a system carrying a classification level even he had never seen, breaking her silence because agencies were hoarding what they knew instead of sharing it. Attached was infrared footage of a teardrop craft gliding underwater, rising through the surface without leaving a ripple, hovering as if it knew it was being watched, then shooting upward faster than the sensor could follow.

It wasn't his first brush with clear UFO evidence. Years earlier, as a one-star admiral, the GoFast UFO video had landed in his inbox after a spherical object split a formation of F-18s mid-exercise. With his clearances he knew every American and adversary capability, and this was neither. Days later the email had been scrubbed from every computer that received it.

He now receives constant reports of UFOs intercepting submarines. The accounts all match: something closes at torpedo speed, rides through the emergency dive, then slows, slips into the sonar's blind spot, and vanishes. No torpedo on Earth can do that.

Whatever these craft are, they operate from the water. An undersea spy agency exists that even the Navy's top oceanographer was never told about. A classified dive unit breathes liquid to work deeper than any diver alive. Las Vegas aerospace tycoon Robert Bigelow and Utah real estate magnate Brandon Fugal have not spoken to each other since 2016, which is when they met to transfer ownership of Skinwalker Ranch from Bigelow to Fugal. 🚨BREAKING🚨: The Pentagon official who exposed the government's secret UFO surveillance program, Immaculate Constellation, says the deep state keeps an oral history: America made a deal with a non-human intelligence, and land inside our own borders was part of the price.

Matthew Brown (@SunOfAbramelin) was a Pentagon policy advisor working on WMD when he opened a briefing he was never meant to see: Immaculate Constellation, a program feeding America's satellites, aircraft and ocean sensors into one worldwide picture of UFO activity. Told to delete it and forget he ever saw it, instead he took what he knew to Congress, where his report is now on the record.

Brown spent years inside that world, and the flow of material never ceased throughout. UFO incidents ran through his classified reporting across every collection discipline, in footage far clearer than anything the public has been shown, and he is certain from what he saw that some of these objects enter our atmosphere from space. The programs themselves no longer brief new members on their own history, so the older knowledge circulates the way it always has, spoken between trusted men. One story told inside is that of the deal: struck in the Truman era, land inside America's own borders set aside as the other side's territory, and access granted to human beings of its choice.

The contact is older than America itself, and it has never stopped. Last year Brown publicly warned Elon Musk @elonmusk that he was being deceived about UFOs by the people briefing him, directed him to specific hangars at a Navy base in Maryland, and signed the message with the name of an angel drawn from a 400-year-old royal cipher. The angel, he explained, points at how long something non-human has been intervening in human affairs. A sitting congressman toured that base and was shown nothing unusual, a measure of how much even America's elected government is allowed to see. Before America had an intelligence agency, intelligence itself belonged to banking families and their private security forces, and some of those dynasties, European and American, have known about the contact longer than there has been a UFO program to hide it. And it runs to this day: Brown believes the black triangles seen around the world are non-human technology, that the United States flies a derivative version, and that communication with whoever builds them is ongoing.

The human mind is no longer sovereign: it can be reached remotely, ideas planted into a person while awake, dreams manipulated at a distance. The phenomenon runs on consciousness, a domain humanity ignores and others most assuredly do not. What these beings want from us is what we might become. In Brown’s words, we are the juniors in the partnership.

Brown also believes that genetics and hybridization might be part of the legacy program and that the search for “high PSI” individuals has never been more intense for these purposes.

The people who keep this secret have shown him they can reach him. While Brown and his wife slept, someone entered their house, laid his wife's documents out in a row as if photographing them, took nothing but his passport, and left his grandfather's ashes in the alley by the garbage.

He is still talking anyway. With two fellow whistleblowers he has founded Vanguard, a charity for the ones who come forward next.

Jacques Vallée is a French computer scientist, astronomer, author and pioneering researcher of the UFO/UAP phenomenon. He studied mathematics and astrophysics before earning a PhD in computer science and artificial intelligence from Northwestern University, and his early scientific work included helping develop the first computer-based map of Mars and contributing to the development of ARPANET. Since the 1960s, Vallée has devoted much of his career to investigating unexplained aerial phenomena, working alongside J. Allen Hynek and becoming one of the most influential and unconventional thinkers in the field. Imagine you could create a 2026 version of A.I. before A.I. was widely used, when GPT A.I. became popular worldwide in 2018 (9 years ago), using an AI-driven CAPELLA-Plus-style matrix to predict the future of this obvious, controversial topic, often ridiculed, laughed at, marginalized, misrepresented, falsely framed, etc. At the time of predicting the "Overton window shift," adding more details on WHY it is inevitable would have been FLAGGED as "misinformation" or "dangerous conspiracy theories." How to Assess Alleged UFO/UAP Film Footage

A Practical Research Framework Based on 36+ Years of Investigation

A report of a possible UFO is not automatically the same thing as a genuine, unexplained UFO/UAP after scrutiny.

I have been researching UFOs/UAPs for 36 years, including writing UFO articles, organizing large international and sold-out UFO conferences, giving 80+ UFO lectures in 5 countries, interviewing many other UFO researchers and authors for my radio/TV shows in Amsterdam, appearing on Dutch national television multiple times to discuss UFOs, and investigating hundreds of possible UFO film footages.

I have also investigated reports involving Dutch police officers, military personnel, pilots, and other witnesses, many of whom contacted me after seeing me on Dutch national television.

Over the years, I developed a practical way of assessing alleged UFO/UAP reports and footage. The purpose was never to automatically "believe" or "debunk" anything.
The purpose was—and remains—to find out what we are actually looking at.
36+ Years of Practical Experience With Cameras, Footage & Video Artifacts

My experience with alleged UFO footage did not come only from looking at other people's material.
Over the years I used multiple generations of cameras myself:

• Video 8 camera — early 1990s
• Hi8 camera — mid-1990s
• Multiple digital cameras — around 2000 onward
• Sony Alpha, 20.1 Megapixel video camera — donated to me in 2016
• Sigma APO DG 70–300 mm 1:4–5.6 Macro motorized telephoto zoom lens — purchased in 2017
• Nikon Coolpix P950 4K, 83× Wide Optical UltraZoom camera — purchased in 2021

I deliberately filmed all kinds of ordinary objects and phenomena so that I could study what cameras actually do under different conditions.

This included:

birds, balloons, aircraft, helicopters slowly moving behind trees, moving objects, distant lights, changing backgrounds, difficult low-light conditions, video compression artifacts, camera distortions, and many other situations.

That practical experience matters.

You cannot reliably evaluate unusual footage while knowing only what a camera should do in theory. You need to know what the camera actually does when confronted with difficult real-world conditions.

I have therefore spent many years observing and comparing video noise, compression artifacts, motion behavior, optical effects and other possible distortions while filming known objects under different circumstances.

• Decades of Video-Analysis Experience

I have also used dozens of video-editing software programs since 1996.
This started with a Pinnacle Studio Pro video capture card, which I used to convert part of my archive of 350+ VHS tapes containing conspiracy and suppressed-news research, including:

• hundreds of UFO documentaries
• UFO news items
• UFO film footage
• mainstream talk shows discussing UFOs
• UFO lectures
• interviews
• other relevant material

Over the years, I gained access to original UFO footage supplied directly by people who had contacted me through my private UFO Hotline, after seeing the number on Dutch national television.
This gave me the opportunity to examine material that was not simply a repeatedly copied internet clip.

I therefore spent decades looking at how footage behaves when it is:

• copied
• compressed
• edited
• resized
• enhanced
• slowed down
• enlarged
• converted between formats
• manipulated through different software
• filmed under different optical and environmental conditions

That background became an important part of my own UFO-footage assessment process.
Learning From Investigators Who Took Footage Analysis Seriously

I remember watching several interviews and lectures by Bruce Maccabee, including his detailed analyses of famous UFO film cases from around the world.
One case I remember in particular is the Canadian Carp, Ontario "Guardian" UFO case.


Regardless of what conclusion someone ultimately reaches about an individual case, the important point for me was the method of investigation.
The question should not simply be:

"Do you believe this UFO is real?"

The much better questions are:

What exactly was recorded?

What evidence exists around the recording?

What alternative explanations can actually be tested?

What remains unexplained after serious examination?

That distinction became central to my own approach.

A Fundamental Distinction: The Report Is Not Automatically the UFO

One of the things I have said for many years—especially in Dutch—is that someone reporting a sighting is not automatically the same thing as having established a real UFO after scrutiny.

That sounds obvious. Yet mass media coverage repeatedly blurs this distinction.

There is an enormous difference between:

"Someone reported a possible UFO."

and:

"A genuine UFO/UAP was established after investigation."

These are not equivalent statements.

Where Mass-Media Framing Can Become Misleading

We repeatedly see headlines along the lines of:

"UFO turned out to be Venus."

or:

"UFO turned out to be a balloon."

or:

"UFO turned out to be strange weather phenomena."

or:

"UFO was actually a flock of birds reflecting light in the dark night sky."

or:

"UFO turned out to be laser lights hitting clouds."

or:

"UFO turned out to be military aircraft."

or:

"UFO turned out to be a Goodyear blimp."

And on and on.
There is a subtle but very important framing problem here.
The actual starting point may have been:

A report of an alleged / possible UFO.

But the headline often implicitly transforms that into:

A UFO.

Then, once an ordinary explanation is found, the story becomes:

"UFOs turned out to be..."

This repeatedly collapses the distinction between the report and the object.
To me, that creates a form of mass conditioning in which:

UFO = something people were mistaken about.

That framing can therefore become misleading before the investigation has even properly started.

The problem is not that Venus, balloons, birds, aircraft, weather phenomena, laser lights or blimps should not be identified.
Of course they should.
The problem is the categorical framing.
A much more accurate formulation would be:

"A report of a possible UFO turned out to be Venus."

That tells the reader what actually happened.
The Problem With Automatically Framing Everything as "Debunking"

I repeatedly explained this distinction to journalists.
I wanted them to understand that saying:

"Someone reported a possible UFO"

is not the same as saying:

"There was a UFO."

But journalists often refused to repeat that distinction accurately.
I have literally hundreds of UFO news clippings from the Netherlands, Belgium and elsewhere documenting these kinds of patterns.

This became part of why I studied not only UFO claims, but also the people who criticize UFO claims.

Investigating the Debunkers

In the Netherlands I investigated the methods and modus operandi of UFO critics associated with organizations such as the Dutch Skeptic Foundation and Skepter Magazine.
I studied:

• their assumptions
• their explanatory strategies
• their investigative methods
• how they selected explanations
• how they framed controversial evidence
• how they sometimes "explained away" unusual reports

I emphasize:

• Sometimes those explanations were correct.

A critical investigation can absolutely discover that an alleged UFO was something completely ordinary.

But in my view, the process was often much weaker than it was presented as being, and I became interested in investigating the investigators themselves.
That led to the creation of a site called:
Skepsiswatchers

The basic idea was what I jokingly described as:

"Debunking the debunkers."

That did not mean abandoning skepticism. Quite the opposite. It meant applying healthy critical scrutiny to the critics as well as to the UFO claims.

I also had several face-to-face UFO debates with Dutch skeptics, including live debates on Dutch national radio, at a time when the internet was not yet widely used.

• The Gatekeeper Problem

I repeatedly observed what I regarded as a pattern in which controversial research was framed through assumptions that were never themselves examined sufficiently.
When I was challenging what I regarded as status-quo gatekeeping, I believed some critics would lose the substantive debate and then look for other ways to frame me rather than the argument.


I experienced what I regarded as multiple forms of defamation, slander and provably false claims.


That experience reinforced something important in my methodology:

Do not only ask whether an extraordinary claim is correct. Ask how the claim is being evaluated.

And also:

Do not exempt either side from scrutiny.

I Am Not Claiming Infallibility

I have never said:

"You must believe me."

Quite the opposite.
I repeatedly encouraged people to correct me as quickly as possible if I made a mistake or misjudgment.
I can make mistakes.
Everyone can.
Let's hypothetically say that 1–2% of something I say is incorrect.
A critic may then attempt to use those mistakes to imply that the remaining 98–99% should automatically be discarded.
I have found that kind of reasoning almost comical.
Because exactly the same principle can be applied in the opposite direction.
Someone else's work can also contain:

• false assumptions
• false generalizations
• selective quotation
• quotations taken out of context
• unsupported conclusions
• provably incorrect assumptions
• methodological weaknesses

In my experience, I could sometimes identify 30% or more of such problems in the arguments being presented against me.
The point is not that a particular percentage is universally correct.
The point is methodological:

Finding some mistakes in a person does not automatically invalidate everything else they have said.

And conversely:

Finding some correct things in a person's work does not establish that everything they say is correct.

That is why I have always preferred case-by-case investigation.
A Useful Analogy: The Brain Surgeon

I have explained this problem to journalists using a simple analogy.
Imagine interviewing a brain surgeon for 30 minutes.
Near the end, the surgeon says:

"There are three particularly important discoveries I made."

Most journalists would probably be quite comfortable quoting those three discoveries—even if the journalist personally did not understand the technical details.
They would say:

"The expert says X, Y and Z."

Then the public can decide what they think about those claims.
But with UFO investigators, I repeatedly experienced something different.
I would spend a substantial amount of time explaining my research, including what I regarded as the three most important discoveries or insights, and later discover that media coverage had selected completely different elements—often the parts that best fitted an existing narrative.

The consequence is that the public may never even encounter the strongest part of the investigator's actual argument. That is why accurate quotation matters.

Why I Developed a Practical UFO Checklist

Because of all of these experiences, I created a practical checklist for assessing UFO reports and UFO footage.
It came partly from:

• decades of investigating reports
• examining original footage
• studying camera behavior
• studying video artifacts
• interviewing witnesses
• examining independent testimony
• studying skeptical investigations
• observing media framing
• investigating the investigators
• comparing multiple sources

In the early 1990s, we at the CNI Foundation and Exposure Magazine obtained the official U.S. Air Force question list for reporting UFOs.

We translated that material into Dutch and added questions of our own.
When people reported possible UFOs through our UFO Hotline, we sent them a list of questions to complete.

This gave us the possibility of comparing:

multiple independent witnesses

different perspectives

different descriptions

different angles on the same reported event

That was an important part of the investigation.
Very few people were doing this kind of systematic work at the time.
We were.

The 11 Basic Questions I Would Start With

When extraordinary UFO/UAP footage is presented, I would begin with these 11 questions.

• 01. WHO FILMED IT?

Who actually recorded the footage?
What do we know about the person?
What is their background?
What equipment did they use?
What is their relationship to the event?

• 02. WHERE WAS IT FILMED?

What is the precise or approximate location?
Can the location be independently established?
What geographical reference points are available?

• 03. WHEN WAS IT FILMED?

What is the exact date and time?
Is the timestamp reliable?
Can the timing be independently verified?

• 04. ARE THERE ANY OTHER INDEPENDENT SOURCES?

Do other sources confirm what we are seeing?
If not:

Why not?

• 05. ARE THERE LOCAL NEWS REPORTS?

Did local newspapers, radio stations, television stations or other local sources report the same event?

That does not automatically disprove the footage.
But it is a question worth investigating.

• 06. WHO UPLOADED THE ORIGINAL?

Who uploaded the first/original version?
What else does that person upload?
Is there relevant background information about the source?
Is the footage original, edited, copied, re-uploaded or transformed?

• 07. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT GIVES MORE CREDENCE TO WHAT WE ARE SEEING?

What independent information exists that strengthens the evidential value of the footage?

And if nothing else exists:

Why not?

• 08. HAS ANY SKEPTICAL INQUIRY BEEN DONE?

If yes:
What did they actually investigate?
What evidence did they use?
What assumptions did they make?
And critically:

Allow all sides to be heard.

A skeptical investigation should not automatically be treated as correct simply because it is skeptical.

• 09. WHY IS NOBODY DIGGING DEEPER?

Why do so many people circulate extraordinary footage without first performing serious investigation?
Why does something go viral before the basic questions have been answered?
That can produce a disastrous feedback loop:

Unverified footage → viral spread → public excitement → easy debunking → showcase of how easily people can be fooled → further degradation of genuine UFO research.

The result is bad for everyone.
It can make genuine research look ridiculous while simultaneously allowing weak criticism to become socially authoritative.

• 10. ARE THERE OTHER CAMERAS?

Did another camera record the same object or phenomenon from another angle?
This can be extraordinarily valuable.
Different cameras can provide:

• independent confirmation
• different perspectives
• different optical characteristics
• triangulation possibilities
• additional environmental information

• 11. ARE THERE OTHER WITNESSES?

Were there independent witnesses?
Did they describe the same phenomenon?
Did they observe it from different positions?
If there are no other witnesses:

Why not?

Again, the absence of witnesses does not automatically disprove a case.
It simply becomes another variable that needs to be understood.
Are These 11 Questions Really So Difficult?

That is one of the questions I have asked for years.
Are these 11 sincere questions really that difficult to ask?
Are they really so difficult to think of ourselves?
What makes it so difficult for so many people not to ask them before spreading extraordinary footage around?
These questions are not designed to "debunk" UFOs.
They are designed to raise the quality of the investigation.
A Recent Example: The Metallic Sphere Claim

Consider the following claim:

"A metallic sphere is found by a farmer and sent to a German company for studies in collaboration with other specialized American and German entities. The video is available for media and researchers. Write to us here. We will soon be at a press conference presenting the UFO artifact, a sphere that may not belong to this planet."

When I first encountered this, my immediate thought was:

"Please do let this just be another object that does not change directions, simply drifting with the same speed as the wind."

Because if that were the case, there would be a 99%+ probability in my assessment that it could be a drifting balloon.
But then something happened that made me much more interested.
What Caught My Attention

The behavior of the object and the filming itself became interesting.
The things I noticed included:

• the way the camera moved
• the relationship between the camera movement and the object
• ambient sound
• whether the sounds corresponded naturally to the environment
• possible overlay/underlay artifacts
• possible CGI or special-effects signatures
• relationships between the object and the surrounding environment

After decades of filming ordinary objects myself and deliberately studying video artifacts, I have trained myself to look for these kinds of anomalies.
And in this particular footage:

I could not find the kinds of obvious artificial overlays, underlays, CGI signatures or other special-effects artifacts I would normally expect if it were constructed using a familiar template.

I emphasize that this is my assessment of what I observed, not a declaration that the footage has therefore been proven authentic or extraterrestrial.
The absence of an obvious artifact is not the same thing as proof of extraordinary origin.
But it can be enough to justify:

"This deserves deeper investigation."

And that is precisely the point.
What Would Make UFO Footage More Credible?

Over decades of investigation, I have developed a hierarchy of features that can strengthen the evidential value of footage.

• 01. MORE REFERENCE POINTS

The more fixed environmental reference points we have, the more accurately movement can potentially be analyzed.
For example:

• trees
• buildings
• mountains
• poles
• roads
• horizon lines
• other fixed objects

Reference points help us distinguish apparent movement from actual movement.

• 02. MORE THAN ONE CAMERA

This is one of the strongest things you can have.
If two or more independent cameras record the same object or phenomenon:

from different locations or angles

the evidential possibilities increase significantly.

• 03. LOCAL NEWS REPORTS

Local news coverage can provide additional independent information about:

• timing
• location
• witnesses
• environmental conditions
• contemporaneous reports

That can be extremely useful.

• 04. MULTIPLE INDEPENDENT WITNESSES

Multiple witnesses observing the same phenomenon from different positions can provide additional information.
The important word is:

Independent.

Ten people repeating the same internet story are not equivalent to ten independent observers.

• 05. POLICE / EMERGENCY REPORTS

Official reports can be extremely useful.
Examples include:

• 911 calls
• emergency calls
• police reports
• other official emergency-service records in different countries

Such material can establish that people reported something at the time, rather than years later after a story has circulated.
Again:

A report is evidence of a report.

It is not automatically proof of what caused the report.
That distinction remains important.

• 06. MAGNETIC / ELECTROMAGNETIC ANOMALIES

Another potentially interesting source of corroboration would be evidence of:

• magnetic anomalies
• electromagnetic interference
• compass disturbances
• measurable electromagnetic effects

For example:

compass measurements

or more advanced equipment such as:

Such measurements would not automatically prove extraterrestrial origin.
But independent physical measurements can potentially provide information beyond the visual footage itself.

• 07. EXACT TIME & LOCATION DATA

Precise time and location can dramatically improve an investigation.
With exact or sufficiently accurate coordinates and timing, we can investigate:

• position of the Moon
• Venus
• Jupiter
• other astronomical objects
• weather conditions
• cloud cover
• wind direction
• visibility
• atmospheric conditions
• aircraft traffic
• known events in the area

This is precisely why:

WHEN and WHERE

matter so much.

• 08. MILITARY / FLIGHT-RADAR INFORMATION

Where available, radar or flight-tracking information can provide another independent layer.
For example, military flight-radar logs may potentially reveal whether aircraft were operating near the reported location and time.
In the system I previously used, one could click the "U" button at the top—the first button—to toggle between all aircraft and military aircraft, and then use the "replay" button on the right-hand side at the lowest button.
With sufficiently accurate:

time + location

one can investigate whether something was present in the relevant area.
Access to military radar data is obviously not always possible.
But where it is available, it can be extremely valuable.

• 09. KNOW YOUR CAMERA

This is one of the most underestimated aspects of UFO investigation.
You need to understand:
What can your camera do?
And also:
What can your camera get wrong?
This means studying:

• CCD / imaging-chip behavior
• compression artifacts
• optical distortions
• zoom behavior
• autofocus behavior
• low-light performance
• sensor limitations
• blooming
• digital processing
• stabilization effects
• image sharpening
• frame interpolation
• motion-related distortions

One of the best approaches is to deliberately film known objects under difficult conditions.
Film:

• Venus
• aircraft
• birds
• balloons
• helicopters
• distant lights

Then examine what your equipment does to them.
This is critical.
Because some strange-looking things are not properties of the object.
They are properties of the recording system.
And understanding those limitations is not "debunking."
It is simply competent investigation.

• 10. UNDERSTAND WHY THIS CHECKLIST EXISTS

The entire point of the list is simple:

Do not lower the evidential standard simply because you want something to be extraordinary.

But equally:

Do not lower the evidential standard simply because you want something to be ordinary.

That works in both directions.
The objective should be:

Better information.

Better questions.

Better investigation.

Better differentiation between what is known, what is unknown, what is explained, what is unresolved and what remains genuinely anomalous.

These Questions Are Not Designed to Deny UFOs/UAPs

This point is important enough to state explicitly.
The purpose of these questions is not:

"Find an ordinary explanation at all costs."

Nor is it:

"Find an extraordinary explanation at all costs."

It is:

Find out what the evidence actually supports.

Sometimes the answer will be:

Balloon.

Sometimes:

Venus.

Sometimes:

Aircraft.

Sometimes:

Weather phenomenon.

Sometimes:

Birds.

Sometimes:

Laser lights hitting clouds.

Sometimes:

Camera artifact.

Sometimes:

Something else entirely.

And sometimes:

We do not know yet.

That final category is perfectly legitimate.
The "Unknown" Is Not a Failure

One of the biggest methodological mistakes in controversial research is assuming that every investigation must immediately produce a satisfying answer.
It doesn't.

• A responsible investigation can conclude:

Unknown.

That does not prove extraterrestrial origin.
But it also does not prove that the phenomenon was ordinary.
It simply means:

The evidence available at this stage is insufficient to establish the answer.

That is a much healthier position than forcing an explanation merely because uncertainty is uncomfortable.
Why Reference Points Matter So Much

A moving object against an empty sky can be incredibly difficult to interpret.
A moving object filmed against:

• trees
• buildings
• mountains
• roads
• power poles
• aircraft
• clouds
• other fixed objects

provides much more information. This is why I consider environmental context one of the strongest improvements that can be made to UFO footage. The more relationships between the object and its environment we can establish, the more we can potentially determine:

what actually moved, what only appeared to move, how fast it moved, and what the camera itself was doing.

Why Independent Confirmation Matters

One person filming something unusual is interesting.
Two independent cameras filming the same thing are much more interesting.
Multiple independent witnesses are useful.
Police reports can add another layer.
Local news coverage can add another layer.
Radar can add another layer.
Astronomical positioning can add another layer.
Weather data can add another layer.
Physical measurements can add another layer.
Camera testing can add another layer.
The strength of an investigation can therefore increase through converging independent lines of evidence.


That is much more useful than simply accumulating people who agree with one another.
Do Not Confuse "Skepticism" With "Debunking"

I consider myself critical.
I ask hard questions.
I look for conventional explanations.
I investigate artifacts.
I test camera limitations.
I examine source histories.
I question witnesses.
I investigate alternative interpretations.
But that does not mean:

"Therefore every alleged UFO is fake."

Likewise, being open to the possibility of a genuine UFO/UAP does not mean:

"Therefore every strange video is authentic."

Those are both forms of premature closure.
The proper position is:

Investigate first.

The Investigator Must Also Be Investigated

One of the lessons I learned through years of investigating both UFO proponents and UFO critics is that investigative methodology itself must remain open to examination.
That means asking:

What assumptions are being made?

What information is being ignored?

What alternatives are being considered?

Which explanations are being privileged?

Is the investigation symmetrical?

Is contrary evidence being treated seriously?

Is the conclusion being determined before the evidence is fully examined?

This applies to everyone. Including me.

"I Can Be Wrong" Is Part of the Method

I have repeatedly told audiences that I can make mistakes.
I have asked people to correct me.
I do not require anyone to believe me.

Examine each claim on its evidence and reasoning.

That should apply to UFO investigators.
It should apply to skeptics.
It should apply to journalists.
It should apply to governments.
It should apply to military organizations.
And it should apply to me.

• Why the Media Distinction Matters So Much

When the media writes:

"UFOs turned out to be balloons."

the reader can easily absorb the implied lesson:

"UFO reports are simply people misunderstanding ordinary things."

That may be true for many reports. But the headline itself should not silently convert a report of a possible UFO into an established UFO and then retrospectively use the ordinary explanation to dismiss the entire category.

A more accurate sequence is:

A person reported an unidentified or apparently unusual object.

↓

The report was investigated.

↓

Evidence was gathered.

↓

The object was identified as a balloon.

That preserves the actual investigation.
And this distinction matters because the report, the interpretation, the object and the final explanation are four different things.
My Basic Default Setting for New UFO Footage

After decades of doing this, I developed something like a default internal check-up process whenever someone shows me extraordinary footage.

• I immediately begin asking:

Who?
Where?
When?
What was the camera?
What else was happening?
Who else saw it?
What else recorded it?
What did local sources report?
What does the original uploader's history look like?
Can the environment provide reference points?
Can astronomical objects be ruled in or out?
Can weather explain it?
Can aircraft explain it?
Can balloons explain it?
Can birds explain it?
Can camera artifacts explain it?
Can editing or CGI explain it?
Is there independent physical data?
Is there radar?
Is there an official report?
What remains after all of that?
The Most Important Question

Eventually the investigation reaches a much more interesting question than:

"Do you believe in UFOs?"

The better question is:

"After everything that can reasonably be checked has been checked, what remains unexplained?"

That is where serious UFO/UAP investigation becomes much more interesting.
Because now we are not discussing belief.
We are discussing:

evidence, uncertainty, methodology, competing explanations and residual anomalies.

The Core Principle

My practical philosophy can be reduced to this:

Do not prematurely turn an allegation into a fact.

But also:

Do not prematurely turn an unexplained observation into a mistake merely because an ordinary explanation would be more comfortable.

Both require the same thing:
Good investigation.

That means:
Ask better questions.
Collect better evidence.
Understand the equipment.
Compare independent sources.
Investigate the investigators.
Allow skeptical inquiry.
Allow competing interpretations.
Do not manufacture certainty.
And most importantly:

Let the evidence determine how far the conclusion is allowed to go.

Final Perspective

All the questions and procedures I have described here are not designed to deny UFOs/UAPs.
They are designed to raise the quality of genuine UFO/UAP research.
That distinction is fundamental.
If an alleged UFO turns out to be:

Venus,

then establish that.
If it turns out to be:

a balloon,

then establish that.
If it turns out to be:

birds,

then establish that.
If it turns out to be:

an aircraft,

then establish that.
If it turns out to be:

a camera artifact,

then establish that.
But if, after serious investigation, none of the ordinary explanations adequately accounts for the evidence, then the scientifically and intellectually honest conclusion may simply be:

Still unexplained.

And that is precisely where the real investigation should continue, rather than where it should automatically end.
A Practical Research Checklist

For convenience, here is the complete core checklist in compact form:

09. Why was the footage circulated before deeper investigation?
10. Are there other cameras recording the same phenomenon from different angles?
11. Are there independent witnesses?

CORROBORATION

Look for:
multiple cameras
multiple independent witnesses
local news reports
police/emergency reports
magnetic or electromagnetic anomalies
exact time and location data
astronomical positioning
weather conditions
aircraft information
military/flight radar where accessible
camera-artifact analysis
physical measurements
CAMERA FORENSICS

Know:
your camera
your lens
your sensor
your compression system
your editing software
your optical limitations
your low-light behavior
your stabilization behavior
your zoom behavior
And test the camera on known objects under comparable conditions.
One Final Distinction

A UFO report ≠ automatically a UFO.

An unexplained object ≠ automatically an extraterrestrial craft.

A conventional explanation ≠ automatically a proven explanation.

A skeptical explanation ≠ automatically a correct explanation.

An investigator's reputation ≠ evidence.

A mistake ≠ total invalidation.

An unresolved case ≠ proof of anything beyond unresolved.

And rigorous investigation ≠ searching for an answer you already decided you want.

The goal is much simpler:

Find out what we actually have.

Rule out what can genuinely be ruled out.

Preserve what remains genuinely unresolved.

And do not let either belief or disbelief do the thinking for us.
