But my guess is that there is something more going on, that Trump has been threatened with something so horrible that he prefers to obey orders of starting a WW3 nuclear holocaust than to be subjected to that threat. It's as if that threat is of supernatural demonic level.

Another thing not mentioned by Tucker Carlson, but crucially relevant, is that many in Trump's entourage at the White House believe that we're in the 'end times' mentioned in the bible, and are actively pushing for Armageddon. Like Pete Hegseth. Or are they all really believing this stuff? Personally, I see the hidden cabal having planned world depopulation and control by means of spreading 'end times' religious fervour among the underlings.

Trump has always been a grandiose narcissist ... look at his history and he ticks all the boxes. I do think losing an election to Biden was a narc injury that contributed to him becoming a full-blown malignant narcissist. But, I do wonder if that near-death shooting in Butler (?) was a warning to him from someone that pushed him into malignancy. Even if it was not a blackmail move, facing his own mortality would have been devastating for a person with narcissism as pathology. From day 1 of this presidency, everything was in place to support his pathology rather than offer an off ramp. He started off signing a flurry of presidential orders, in front of the media so it all went viral, globally (great fuel for a narcissist), and in his remarks he made factual error after factual error (including threatening Spain for being a part of BRICS). He got away with the performative display of illusionary powers and the untruths (to put it mildly) because he continued getting the sort of attention narcs love, and the team surrounding him (including Musk declaring that he lived Trump) adoringly supported him. It is a myriad of circumstances and people who supported and encouraged the full flowering of the monster (it is monstrous to deliberately target and kill children, by the hundreds), but I do wonder if there was a definite turning point and what that was ... the near miss shooting, finding his name all over the Epstein files, facing his mortality after a health screening, manipulation through flattery?

Recently Trump responded to a question about Chinese spying by saying we spy on them plenty and they spy on us so nothing to worry about because it is normal (it used to be the Soviet threat and now it is the Chinese threat but some are still hooked on the original story so that has become a Russian/Putin threat). That was actually a rational and reasonable response (everyone spies!). He is not forgiven for his war crimes and crimes against humanity and his blatant profiting from human misery, but I wonder what the heck is going on. Is there some intelligence there that manages to leak out occasionally? Even if that comment came from someone else, he liked it enough to repeat it.

I don't have the references to hand, but Robert Barnes, who is very well-connected in DC, has stated in a number of interviews that he was specifically told this by contacts he fully trusts.
