I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Do not underestimate the power of this technology. These will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources. We have all witnessed the progress in each of these domains, and progress is not slowing.

After "Remember the Maine", the "Sinking of the Lusitania", "Pearl Harbor", the Holocaust (yes, bad went down, but "what we were told" != "what happened"), the threat of nuclear Armageddon, 9/11, "Weapons of Mass Destruction" (Iraq), Global Warning Climate Change is caused by carbon dioxide, various repeated financial collapses going back "forever" used to force debt-based money on us, the Covid scamdemic (shutting down large swaths of the economy, suppressing effective treatment, pushing lethal treatment, and pushing the G*d D*amn jab that kills millions and maims hundreds of millions - maybe more) ...

At a press conference on August 12th, 1986, US President Ronald Reagan said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”

When you see a psyop (I do not put that word in air quotes) of this magnitude, that doesn't mean there isn't a problem, but it does mean that whatever is the real problem, if any, is being fear pumped to "11 on the dial", to push something on us that we would not welcome if honestly presented.

Over and over and over ... are you starting to catch the pattern?

Did the Rockefeller's leading the charge to get government to take over the healing arts a century ago help our health? Heck no. We got poorer and sicker, as they became richer and more powerful.

Did the massive climate hoax, over decades, improve the lot of Europeans? Heck no. Not saying there wasn't a problem, but replacing nuclear power, North Sea oil, and Russian gas with an inadequate, more expensive, less reliable, mixed bag of alternatives is causing serious damage to European civilization.

Yes - a couple of things open up here.

First, a small point, and then a larger point (with a bonus at the end).

Point One: All our theories, no matter how wonderfully precise in some ways, are fatally flawed in other ways.

In my view, the Navier-Stokes breakdown fails to be profoundly relevant to our understanding of the world we live in, for the same reason that

• Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle,
• Gödel's incompleteness theorems,
• the Second Law of Thermodynamics (which grew out of Carnot's theorem), and
• and such "strange" phenomenon as black holes and spooky action at a distance

each strain at the edge of our understanding is that the theoretical basis of each of the above works and theses are fundamentally and essentially diverges from reality.

Where our fundamental math and physics breaks down is often not in the precise modeling, to many decimal places and precise logical analysis (such as in Nicolas Bourbaki's "Éléments de mathématique", a treatise on mathematics composed of twelve books)

This is now evident in the clear statement of the Navier-Stokes question that was purportedly just resolved by AI.

Quoting text from the document image of the paper shown around the 4 minute mark of the video Bill posted above, the question regards the Navier-Stokes equations (for fluid dynamics). The question is whether these equations for "an initially smooth fluid at rest can develop a singularity in a finite time."

The essential limitation in all the above examples is that our theories are all over simplifications or in some way essentially flawed models, of reality. No model we know can precisely cover all phenomenon, from the exact nature, structure, and activity of the electrical-magnetic-physical nature of a single atom of gold, to the exact nature, structure and activity of whatever time and place in our universe emitted a photon of light that is reported (i.e., claimed) as having been sensed by one of our fine telescopes 10 or 20 billion years after it was emitted. And any of the sciences (such as quantum mechanics or general relativity) that might claim to model some of that doesn't even dare mention such quandaries as why your girl friend had that strange look on her face some moment a week ago.

The fabric of each and every one of our models of "space-time-whatever", that I know of anyhow, breaks down, tears beyond repair, past some boundary.

The Navier-Stokes equations for fluid dynamics now join that list ... of "torn fabrics". That was the key point that was shown. Not surprising, in my view, when I look at it like that.

(or, not to discuss further ... the greatest tear in the fabric of our modern sciences, between quantum mechanics and relativity ... evidenced for example in the difficulty astronomers are having recognizing the value of "Electric Universe" models ...)

Point Two: AI might be used to reveal the sciences and technologies hidden from humanity this last century.

I have long wondered how the "ones" who have hidden a century of advancements in science and fundamental technology from us would be able to release that to the public, without a catastrophic loss of public trust and credibility.

Now I see how they might do release this knowledge to the public:

Let AI get the credit for releasing it. Train AI secretly on the secret knowledge, with the credentials of the humans who undertook that work redacted. AI is already notorious for its ability to regurgitate knowledge it has trained on, without revealing where that knowledge came from. That skill is practically baked into the fundamental structure of the major AI models.

Bonus:

The particular flaw in the Navier-Stokes equations is right before oue eyes: read what I quoted about it above, from the paper that Bill's video showed: "an initially smooth fluid".

That totally denies what I'd wager is closer to reality, that there really is an æther, a "fluid" of matter, practically imperceptible to our instruments, out of which all the physical world is formed, whether atoms, plasma, electromagnetic fields, gravity, photons, vacuums, whatever, .... Æther is not a still smooth fluid.

That Navier-Stokes equations break down by allowing "infinite" (as in divide by zero) points of energy need not concern us. For those equations are breaking down right where they diverge from physical reality, at the ætheric level.

And this bonus point loops all the back around. It is the limitation of Navier-Stokes equations at its fundamental level -- is the universe a smooth, differentiable "field" with no infinite discontinuities, or isn't it. This is the failure to recognize the æther, which is the fundamental failure we must correct, to get our science back on track.

We just saw the next step, in a choreographed dance, to go public with the hidden knowledge gained over the last century.
