This would be a good time for the UN to start discussions on relocating UN headquarters from USA soil to a neutral country that has no hegemonic agenda.

I don't think where the UN is located matters much; they are a useless, feckless organization that will still be useless no matter where they are located. I think most Americans would welcome their departure, with the exception of a few landlords in NYC.

Their entire job is to coordinate peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts around the world. How did that work out in Gaza, Ukraine, Darfur, Bosnia, Rwanda, Sudan or any other number of countries where they have been involved? It is not a stretch to say that the UN exacerbated the crisis in Gaza. At one point, the UN refused cooperative offers to distribute aid, allowing truckloads of supplies to sit undelivered while hunger grew. It is now well documented that hundreds of UNRWA employees were affiliated with Hamas. It was extremely sad and somewhat comical when people debated whether UNRWA (the United Nations Refugee Agency) had been completely taken over by Hamas or just badly infiltrated by Hamas.

The UN is in a state of structural paralysis. They lack political will, and they have been in systemic organizational dysfunction for years. The bottom line is that the UN has been turned into a quasi-terrorist organization and it should be eradicated; failing that, it should be expelled from the USA.

I think you should contact Carney and start a movement to relocate them to Ottawa. I think Americans would declare it a national holiday if and when this malevolent organization moved north.

So many of your claims are false, the worst one that UN blocked delivery of aid in Gaza... When we all know that ISRAEL blocked the aid, and that aid workers with clear identification painted on top of their vehicles have been murdered by the IDF, e.g. the World Kitchen.

So, if the UN is so corrupt and useless why isn't your beloved Trump-Netanyahu regime cancelling their UN membership? With regards to Gaza, they've constantly used their UN seat to block or veto resolutions that would have greatly helped Gaza. Meanwhile, Trump's 'Board of Peace' has completely failed in doing anything for Gazans. The USA has a long history of vetoing UN resolutions that would be helpful to Palestinians, often being the lone actor (with Israel) in doing so.

So, why don't you advocate for Trump-Netanyahu to cancel their respective UN seats if you are so convinced that the UN is so harmful? Their absence from UN proceedings would be beneficial for the rest of the world.

Seriously, it's not likely that USA-Israel are about to quit the UN, because it has been too useful for them. USA-Israel axis has a long history of USING the UN to advance their warmongering. For example, in 2003 when a USA official presented at the UN claims that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, claims that turned out to be false.

This said, I'm not personally enthralled with the UN. It certainly could be vastly improved. But that improvement won't happen so long as the USA-Israel are disrupting UN proceedings with deceit and threats.

On 20 September, Isr*eli newspaper Haaretz published an article promoting an Eritrean regime change group meeting in Isr*el with over 1,000 members. “Brigade Nhamedu”, also known as the Eritrean Blue Revolutionary Front (EBRF), is a diaspora-led opposition movement founded in 2022 and aims to overthrow Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki. The group has organised globally, with significant activity in Europe, North America, and Isr*el. The group now aims to organise militarily and use Ethiopia as a launching point.

Brigade Nhamedu's orientation is explicitly Western-backed, as finance manager Dawit Teferi stated: "The U.S., Israel and the Gulf states have a major interest in a partner in the Red Sea region". Leader Beyene Gerezgiher reinforced this: "We won't be able to carry out a democratic revolution in Eritrea on our own. We need international support".

Ethiopia has openly hosted the movement since early 2025, as Gerezgiher confirmed: "We have a free hand to operate from here". The group has opened an office in Addis Ababa with "military and diplomatic centres" for armed struggle.

From this Ethiopian base, the group seems intent on launching military action. The article notes: "That is also where they intend to build the force that will let them cross the border when the day comes".

The group's strategy exemplifies the regime-change formula of incubating diaspora opposition. Western powers host and fund exiled movements, which then serve as a political and (most importantly) economic alternative to the target government. This approach enables "compliance without occupation," a more insidious form of control that is at the heart of neo-colonialism.

With the intensification of conflict in the Red Sea, as Yemen’s Ans*r-Allah bring the Bab Al-Mandeb strait under their control, it is no surprise that imperialist countries are using the carrot-and-stick strategy with Eritrea; easing sanctions while pushing regime change operations.

Rising #Houthi threats around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the arrival of thousands of Yemenis fleeing the conflict are putting growing pressure on Djibouti, with potential consequences for Ethiopia’s trade and maritime access, Italy’s financial newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore reported on 23 September.

The newspaper said Djibouti’s strategic position along the waterway separating the Horn of #Africa from the #Arabian_Peninsula is increasingly becoming a security and economic vulnerability. Djibouti handles nearly 97% of Ethiopia’s trade and hosts military facilities operated by the United States, France, China, Japan and Italy, as well as forces linked to the European Union’s Aspides maritime mission, according to the report.

The situation has been further complicated by the reported Houthi capture of #Perim_island, which sits at the entrance to the Bab el-Mandeb and could give the Yemen-based group greater leverage over maritime traffic through the strategic chokepoint.

The developments are also creating humanitarian pressure, with thousands of Yemenis arriving in Djibouti by sea, Il Sole 24 Ore reported.

Adam Daud Ahmed, a Horn of Africa analyst cited by the newspaper, said the Houthi advance “directly alters the security equation” for Djibouti, while Bravin Onditi of the Horn Research Centre warned that further escalation could turn the country into an operational base or potential target in a conflict originating across the #Red_Sea.

For Ethiopia, prolonged instability in Djibouti could increase pressure to diversify its maritime outlets. Onditi said a prolonged crisis could strengthen Addis Ababa’s case for reducing its dependence on Djibouti, including through options such as Berbera in Somaliland.

The report also said renewed pressure on Djibouti could revive debate over Ethiopia’s long-standing push for direct Red Sea access. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has repeatedly described maritime access as a strategic right for Ethiopia, particularly since Eritrea’s independence in 1993.
