Default Good news -- The Tasmanian Tiger is no longer extinct !

    https://www.rt.com/viral/359671-tasm...potted-camera/

We need to create a vast wild life reserve around the sites of their
    most recent sightings....

And we need 1/10th of 1% of the money spent on covertly funding
ISIS and other terrorists in Syria .... to be spent on a breeding / cloning
program to ensure these wonderful creatures don't actually become
    extinct.

    be happy :-)

I'm considering the possibility that "video #2" is presenting us with some sort of hyena.

There are no hyenas in Australia...

Do or did hyenas ever live in australia?
"No - outside zoos, there were no hyenas. There were large, carnivorous marsupials, however, such as the thylacine."
"Only in zoos; hyenas are placental mammals, which were virtually unknown in Australia until we silly apes arrived"

Atlas-- you have no idea how much I wish you were right and the tiger is no longer extinct. Just imagine, we 'stupid apes' destroyed a species so recently that we were able to FILM the animal in its last days I am so angry about it, not that anger and sadness helps. I have visited Tasmania and there are areas which so far are still wilderness and that gives me hope that these unique Australian animals have managed to survive. Sadly though, I think it is very unlikely.

Thank you for the opportunity to see 'The last of his kind' again.

    • Why I Believe The Tasmanian Tiger Is Still Alive...

For years, sightings of the Tasmanian Tiger, or Thylacine, have persisted throughout mainland Australia and Tasmania. I have personally been on expeditions to both of these places and believe there is one last place to look, Papua New Guinea. Here are some of my reasons why I believe the Tasmanian Tiger is still alive.
    • Tasmanian Tiger Caught on Camera? (New 2024):

The Tasmanian tiger, also known as Thylacine, is an animal I looked for on Extinct or Alive. It is one of the most well-known extinct animals, and this man named Zack may have caught it on camera. Could this be proof thylacine is still alive?

The two vids embedded at the RT link no longer work.

Here is the website of the source of RT’s vids, info, and quotes:

    https://www.thylacineawarenessgroupofaustralia.com.au/

Left side of front page, link Sightings Caught on Film, has 6 video links up. I clicked on 3, and they all worked. Here is, imo, the best of those 3:

Jun 30, 1017, “Original Thylacine Footage by Paul G Day”.

Found this thread to post the following vid. Contrary to the clickbait thumbnail, nothing scary here, unless perhaps you’re a biologist afraid for your reputation for having misunderstood the nature of this critter.

L = 14:38. Towards the end, the narrator speaks of the current idea “STILL ALIVE”, but the vid mostly focuses on what DNA of preserved specimens tells.

Quote Scientists are using modern genetic analysis to re-examine the Tasmanian tiger, a species lost to history.

This video explores the anatomical details of the Thylacinus cynocephalus by examining preserved specimens, skeletal remains, and historical documentation. By looking closely at these artifacts, researchers can better understand the classification of this unique marsupial predator.

We review how the Tasmanian tiger fits into the broader evolutionary picture of Australian wildlife. Beyond the historical images, we look at what preserved remains, including a joey in a jar, tell us about the biology of this animal. This study of marsupial anatomy offers a clearer view of the creature that was once the top predator of the region.
