    Default A Ghosting Generation

just some things on my mind . anyone have a similar story?

several times I have either lost friends or had new acquaintances end abruptly

All of them quite younger than me.

One who I felt was a really good friend for 3-4 years and several more just quickly evaporated.

    then I learned of ghosting.

it seems words no longer matter. People I meet double down and insist, hey Im for real, I always answer emails etc

One of recent, a song writher at a cafe. I said, the same Im also a song writer. she said ohhh awesome want to correspond and share songs, tips etc

I said sure. So i sent her my latest song. That was the end

Never heard from her, never acknowledged getting my email and my song. I sent her two follow ups without a reply. She refuses to reply.
the email was valid and went thru.

This person along with others in this age category , twenties to 40ies, seem to adhere to ghosting .

What an idiotic, chicken **** calling for this generation .

Many people tell me its very common

Why lie, when the truth would be just as good?

I ghosted people because of a mental health condition and now I have no close friends.

We still sort of keep in touch but there's not much left to talk about really. Sometimes I feel like I have talked every subject to death. It's like.. there's nothing left.

My guess is those people you mentioned have stuff going on in their lives. Don't take it personal.

Hi Doug. I am sure there are many of us here that have similar stories. I do for sure.
And yes, it can be ghosting, but I wonder if it can be something else as well.

I am four years younger than you and I do think that our age may have something to do with it.
At least in some cases, especially where young(er) people are involved.

Somehow I have detected a correlation between "the rise" of technology (= mainly AI and social media) and a growing "habit" of ghosting and something else, which I call "the turning of people".

A few examples. I used to have a friend, since I was 3 years old. And suddenly, a few years back, his attitude (and maybe even his personality) changed and the friendship ended (which had lasted over 60 years). Nothing had changed, nothing was said. It just happened.

Another example. About ten years ago I helped an acquaintance (and somewhat a friend to), to move from the UK to Belgium. He wanted to change nationalities. I helped him getting his Belgian permanent resident permit. Got him to stay in an apartment I owned (at a cheap cost). But then it became clear that he had "turned" too (I know, some will say I just played Mr. Nice Guy to fool me, but I doubt that). At some point I began to see him as an "usurper", and it was me who ended this relationship (for a good reason in my opinion). He was much younger than me as well.

At another time, I literally saved someone's life. Again, quite a bit younger than me. It was someone who really needed help. How much money and time I invested is not so important, but, this ended in "ghosting" too.

In general, I have to say that the past 20 years (or so) this phenomenon has increased exponentially. It looks like there are more and more people like you described, living around us. What is causing it? It is possible that the increase in EMF/RF (5G etc), vaccinations, a poisoned environment, an increased desparation, not knowing what is going to happen next (incertainties of all kinds, all over) is causing people 'to tune out'.

Personally, I rarely will connect with people now (as I used to do, 50 to 20 years ago about) to help them out in whatever way I could.

It IS sad, but it is also reality. And I don't think it has anything to do "with my focus" (as some may say).

    Petra
all people have stuff going on. its a complicated life for even the most uncomplicated .
the funny thing is the most recent one, was the very one that enacted the idea of sharing songs with me. she was the one that went through the bother of exchanging emails and seemed inspired to do so
I am a person of my word and so it truly disappoints me.

    Johan
wow after all that output care and help on your part? amazing
I think it possibly increased since the Covid Con. There seems to be a soft mentall illness on display all around me. People without eye contact walking around like a post apocalyptic event happened.
Thank god for dogs, they see me and stop to say hello as their stupid dolt of an owner is guilted into saying hello as well
what a collection of zombies in a most disappointing time we live

It seems that many people have been taught to avoid discussing life with others who have different views. If your mindset or even life experiences don’t match theirs, they may simply walk away. This happens even after being friends for a while.

Today, differences in politics, COVID vaccination choices, or even eating meat can be enough to end a relationship. I try to avoid left and right labels, but I think they’re relevant here. I’ve seen this behavior mostly among people on the left, including those who attended college. Now, these same attitudes are being taught in elementary, middle, and high school.

At the same time, some people withdraw because they feel overwhelmed. They may not feel confident discussing topics outside their comfort zone, so they panic or shut down. Sadly, they do not have the confidence or consideration to explain why they’ve abruptly cut off all communication.

    Doug,
She sounds like a bitch. You are right to be disappointed. I'm sorry on behalf of the ladies

That being said, I'm guilty of giving out my number to guys I don't really want to talk to so I know what that feels like. Women can be idiots. I don't think men ghost people as much but I could be mistaken! Guys tend to be more upfront in my experience.

I dont see her as a bitch, I see her as lacking skills in truthfulness, honesty and just being real. I call that fear. People are fearful, for whatever reason, to let themselves be seen as who they really are.
Its like everything is a facade and a coverup.
i also never thought of this as a gender. All these people seem to be frightened. But I like their dogs

Rgray. I agree with what you said. I think people are overwhelmed. But again, why lie, when the truth would be just as good?
This woman Petra and I are mentioning was the one to suggest this all to me, not the other way around

Ghosting is a gang stalking term and being a victim of those tactics, I see the woman you described as a plant and I'm guessing you frequent that cafe. Her controllers could have wanted that song. Donald Marshall claims his consciousness was pulled to one of many cloning centers during his sleep and he was forced to write songs while he was in a clone body because he had a knack for it. According to Arkheim Ra he heard what sounded like a version of Smells Like Teen Spirit as a national anthem on another planet. From another perspective all songs are spells which allows for the manipulation of populations. People that retire often lack a friend or support structure because they didn't maintain it or never established it causing a lonelineness epidemic.

Quote These are the songs Donald Marshall claims to have written:

    1. Falco- Rock Me Amadeus
    2. Kenny Rogers- Lady (Released in 1980)
    3. Nine Inch Nails- Happiness in Slavery
    4. Nirvana- Smells Like Teen Spirit
    5. Heart (Earth anagram)- These Dreams
    6. Eurythmics- Sweet Dreams
    7. Gotye- Someone That I Used To Know
    8. Michael Jackson- They Don’t Care About Us
    9. Def Leppard- Pour Some Sugar On Me
    10. Britney Spears- Baby One More Time
    11. Tina Turner- What’s Love Got To Do With It
    12. David Bowie- Modern Love
    13. A Perfect Circle- Counting Bodies Like Sheep
    14. Poison- Every Rose (Eros) Has Its Thorn
    15. Prince- Raspberry Beret
    16. Megadeth- Donald said he’s on one of their album covers
    17. Slayer- Show No Mercy
    18. Metallica- Unforgiven
    19. Peter Gabriel- Sledgehammer
    20. Michael Jackson- Thriller
