Turmoil in Brazil

I was waiting for this, for Pepe Escobar to talk with Nima Alkhorshid (who is Iranian but who lives and works in Brazil as a University Professor) about the Brazilian election.

At the start of this new livestream, Pepe reports that it's all over the Argentinian media that Flavio Bolsonaro has fled Brazil, first crossing the border to Argentina using his ID (though his passport had been canceled), where a small private Gulfstream jet was waiting to fly him to Miami. But so far, it seems he's not been able to leave Argentina.

(I checked online, and news stories are just starting to appear about this in the mainstream.)

An update on the above, also from Pepe at the start of his new video with Judge Napolitano a few hours ago.

Bolsonaro did cross into Argentina, but the Gulfstream jet mentioned above was a decoy. Instead, he boarded another jet which flew him out of Argentina with the full co-operation of the Argentinian authorities, in what Pepe describes as a classic CIA extraction.

It's confirmed by everyone now that he's in the US, his wife and two daughters having fled with him, and they've all been granted visas by the Trump administration.

Exiles can speak where Brazilian court orders have less reach and so Balsonaro coming to America does not necessarily mean he's surrendered. Lula may soon discover that driving his opponent out of Brazil didn't silence his opposition, it globalized it.

The election may be over, but the struggle is only beginning.
