"Eighty percent. That's how much ozone got stripped out of the upper atmosphere during this solar cycle's biggest storms. A new EGUsphere study led by Jia Jia, with Yvan Orsolini, Pekka Verronen and colleagues, tracked four monsters with NASA's Microwave Limb Sounder: the May 2024 superstorm, October 2024, November 2025 and January 2026. Every single one gouged the mesosphere, with ozone losses of 30 to 80 percent. Electrons drove May 2024, protons drove October 2024, and January 2026 hit with both. Ozone dropped in the lower thermosphere every time too, and the WACCM-D chemistry-climate model couldn't reproduce it. The model also shows the damage sinking down into the stratosphere, home of the ozone layer that shields us from UV. None of these took an X1000 flare. A weakening shield lets ordinary storms do this kind of damage, and the Antarctic ozone hole keeps setting records. The particles are getting through. This is why we watch the field."

A new Earth and Space Science paper stacked 173 recurrent solar wind stream arrivals from 2005 to 2024 and found that the Schumann resonance, the global electromagnetic tone ringing between the ground and the ionosphere, jumps up in frequency within a day of each one. It showed up at Hornsund on Svalbard, at Ivalo and at Rovaniemi, strongest at the highest geomagnetic latitude, and the clearest predictor wasn't wind speed at all. This stream is the only source of near real-time northern / southern lights from three NOAA polar-orbiting spacecraft. The spacecraft are in a train spaced about 25 minutes apart and all data is stitched into the mosaics. The red line is where the sun is rising and setting. The blue line is where the darkest skies exist and will change shape according to when the moon rises and sets. The dotted yellow line represents the center of the last swath from the polar orbiting satellites. The best viewing for auroral activity is inside the blue line where astronomically dark conditions exist.

This live-stream is also the first (and only) source to provide publicly available experimental 2-hour predictions of solar flare locations using NASA's advanced SURYA heliospheric inference model. These maps are superimposed on the 94 Angstrom images. You'll see flickers of color at the base of active regions that are predicted to be the source locations of flare activity according to SURYA's training.

We are also providing automated magnetic shear intensity maps of target solar regions (shear indicates flaring potential) superimposed on solar magnetogram and 1600 Angstrom images that show opposite polarity (white and black) magnetic fields and any significant shear between those regions as lines of colors varying from red (modest) to yellow/white (strong).

Our bot also sends the latest real-time alerts, warnings and watches from the Space Weather Prediction Center.

I don't think that the Schumann resonance changes frequency much. It remains around 7.8 Hz, plus or minus about 0.1 to 0.2 Hz.

What does vary more noticeably is intensity, and the overtones (about 14.3 Hz, 20.8 Hz, 27.3 Hz, and 33.8 Hz) rise and fall along with the fundamental. That intensity tracks global lightning activity (about 50 strikes per second worldwide).

The size of the earth's lower atmosphere, from ground to ionosphere (about 60 to 90 km above ground), and the speed of light (Extremely Low Frequency radio) around the earth in that spherical envelope primarily determines that 7.8 Hz. Those metrics don't change much in human time scales (for earth size) or universe time scales (for light speed). The varying electrical properties of the ionosphere also influence this frequency.

Lightning is driven mainly by tropical heating, with a daily cycle as thunderstorms peak over Africa, the Americas, and Asia in turn. There is some evidence that solar activity also nudges lightning rates, via cosmic rays and solar wind streams, so the Sun may contribute indirectly. Either way, more lightning makes the resonance louder, not higher in pitch.

I wouldn't be too sure the Schumann resonance is unchanging. LOTS of things are changing now, according to the data from many quarters.

Absolutely it's changing.

But it is the volume, not the frequency, that is changing.

And when you see higher frequencies, about 14.3 Hz, 20.8 Hz, 27.3 Hz, and 33.8 Hz, on a chart that were hardly there before, then show up strongly, that's not the Schumann resonance rising in frequency.

Rather that's the overtones, the first four harmonics, of the base 7.8 Hz resonance, that were always there, perhaps too weak to show on some chart, which also got stronger, in proportion to the base 7.8 Hz doing the same.

Horizon-Constrained Karst Erosion and the Evidence for an Ancient Waterline on the Khafre Pyramid


The distinctive erosion banding on Egypt’s Pyramid of Khafre presents a compelling geological mystery — one whose explanation may challenge some of our most deeply held assumptions about the monument’s history.

There is only one physical process and environmental state capable of producing this particular pattern of horizon-constrained, planar erosion on Khafre: sustained waterline exposure, coupled with wave-driven carbonic acid dissolution, mechanical abrasion, and hydraulic undercutting.

This is deductive evidence. Unless your hypothesis or theory bears a coherent mechanism that elegantly exlpains the mechanism and cause behind this observation set and its characteristic banding (there are many facets of this set), and not simply the observation itself, one does not have an actual scientific hypothesis.

Remarkably, this specific erosion mechanism was first identified in 2010 by Roger B. Cunningham — systems engineer, lifelong sailor, former naval officer of the deck, and materials research executive — on his first visit to the Giza Plateau.

Cunningham formally articulated the hypothesis and its proposed physical mechanism in his 2023 article, Hidden in Plain Sight, subsequently integrating it into a broader geomechanical theory in his book, Inversion — ECDO Theory. It took mankind 11,600 years to determine the only plausible backstory to this enigma.

From the book, Inversion — ECDO Theory, Section III, Chapter 1:

It was at that moment that the realization finally hit me — the Tura limestone casing blocks hadn’t been scavenged at all. If they had been taken for reuse, why were only the granite base stones left scattered about? Nor could their complete obliteration have been the result of an earthquake, which somehow managed to selectively erase Tura while leaving Mokattam untouched. The patterning and undercut nature of the casing stone depletion at the top of the Khafre Pyramid render those explanations ridiculous fairy tales (see Figures III 1-2 and III 1-3 below).

No — the Tura limestone blocks had not been scavenged. They had been dissolved — broken down by the ferocious kinetics and carbonic acid chemistry of ocean water.

I was silent in the car on the way back to the hotel, my stomach hanging like lead under the weight of what I had just seen. My colleagues even inquired if I was well. I was not.



This unique feature set is the result of a sustained waterline exposure, coupled with wave-driven carbonic acid dissolution, mechanical abrasion, and hydraulic undercutting.


The erosion band and Tura Casing Stone cap undercutting conforms with a typical Mediterranean Douglas Sea State expectation for a 576′ higher sustained ocean sea level at Giza. This can only be caused by a change in Earth’s georotation – not a “Nile Flood.”



The heavier constituents of the dissolved Tura Casing Stone limestone block detritus fell to the foot of all four sides of all three pyramids at Giza. This travertine formation was removed in 1928 – no sampling, no disclosure of where the material was disposed.
Tura limestone is a relatively soft form of limestone (Mohs hardness of ~3, Slake Durability Index of less than 85%, and higher friability). It has a much more leachable microstructure and consists entirely of vulnerable calcite (CaCO₃).46 This renders this form of limestone vulnerable to dissolution in seawater by means of the following chemical equation:47

CaCO3​(s) (Tura limestone) + CO2(aq) ​(carbon dioxide) + H2​O(l) (water) → Ca2+(aq) + 2HCO3–(aq) ​(calcium bicarbonate) + detritus (loose incomplete and undissolved CaC03(s) heavier than ocean water solids).



The conformance to Douglass Sea State 6/7 is remarkable in multiple aspects of measure and observation.
To me, this erosion pattern is strikingly obvious. To many others, however, recognizing its implications requires first setting aside decades of conditioning about the Giza pyramids, then confronting the cognitive dissonance that arises when physical evidence challenges an established historical narrative.

The geometry of Khafre’s erosion must be explained by the physics of its formation, not by the historical chronology we have assigned to the monument. A chronology that excludes a physically viable explanation is not, in itself, evidence against that explanation.

The scientific challenge is straightforward: identify a competing physical mechanism capable of producing the same horizon-constrained planar conformity, cardinal symmetry, material selectivity, and erosion morphology. Then demonstrate its explanatory sufficiency and elegance.

The burden rests upon the correspondence between physical mechanism and observation — not upon our willingness to preserve an inherited and enforced narrative.
