Have you just heard the speeches they have just said? They are going to use (sea water) and some other stuff to contain this problem and they believe this is a solution. They say the nuclear reactor is undamaged..( I can't believe I'm talking about nuclear reactors and stuff ) Is this a bluff? The radios for evacuation has gone from 10km to 20 km but they say the readings have dropped and this is just a safety precaution. The outer walls blew up because of steam of some sort ... I'm really talking about something I have no idea about..

Did you see that explosion? Now I'm no nuclear power plant expert, but I know that there are two separate water systems involved. One system is a closed-loop system (because it's contaminated) for controlling the temperature of the core, and the other is a fresh-water system that is boiled into steam which is used to drive the electric generators.

As far as I know the cooling towers are only used for the contaminated closed-loop system, which as you might imagine is at extremely high pressure. And there isn't any need to cool the fresh-water system, as it's being turned into steam and allowed to escape naturally anyway. (Or something like that!)

So. What WAS that, that exploded?

It may be that the reactor is ok for now. But how long can that last if it isn't cooled? And they already stated hours ago that they were having cooling problems, and that was before we seen the explosion.

I don't know what to say about using sea water. But they're the experts (seriously). But I've been forming this gut-feeling that this has gone over their heads, and I sure hope I'm wrong.

The media WANTS to tell you everything (ratings you know!). But they can only tell you what the gov is telling them. You know how that goes.

Interesting Harley, the BBC Saturday 15.00UTC news reported that the explosion may have been caused by Hydrogen exploding with the trigger action being another smaller shockwave. The building was damaged but the reactor core is assumed to be safe.

The report also confirmed that the authorities have made a decision that the plant will no longer be saved, and now they plan flooding the reactor core with sea water which will provide the necessary cooling. The report confirms this decision has opened many more options for the engineers involved, and it does seem they have the situation under control.

The report further confirms that Iodine tablets have been issued as a safety precaution and again this seems very sensible. Flood the thyroid gland with iodine thus preventing radio active material (should it exist) access to the gland.

This is an impressive response, come on folks the Japanese are serious people they are on top of this. I guess that when the diesel generators were lost in the tsunami the game was up. Cooling a reactor core with DC battery power, is only a standby measure to allow the diesel AC power to be brought back on line, however these generators were lost. With access roads severely damaged getting additional standby power in proved impossible so we are where we are.

What is very serious is the reported loss of 10,000 people from a town with a reported population of 17,000; the whole town has been erased. Very sad indeed.

My heart goes out to SKI and the people of Japan. May the Lord comfort you, may He place peace and gratitude in your hearts. My prayers are with you.

There are many more changes to come, much pain to come. Please, time is growing very short, spend time with your families. Be with the ones you love and cherish every moment. Do something you always wanted to do if you have the means. Live in the now. We can never know what tomorrow will bring, life is very precious and very fragile. It will soon become evident to all who call Earth home that these changes are happening, not just us in the alternative community.

That is correct. HARRP can cause a Rainbow type effect in the Sky above a quake zone before one hits, but what a lot of people don't realize is that these Colors appear naturally as well when there is a build up of pressure in the ground (i think it is to do with the enormous amount of friction that causes a build up of charge in the air, i cant remember)

I'm wondering.... Have earth changes now started in earnest? If so, we should brace ourselves for more of this activity......

I do not know for sure about the earth changes becoming more prevalent, but I have been meaning to mention this. On Thursday my husband and I were babysitting our 4 year old granddaughter. Ok, granted she is pretty spoiled, but she was completely out of control all day and was actually hateful and kept ptiching crying fits. My husband and I were very short on patience and very snappy. We have two cats ... they were running wild all over the house, plus demanding attention. Next moring when I awoke, I saw the destruction in Japan.
Just wondering if others felt this?

They say they have it under control but we seem to get more out of twitter, people have been effected but they have all been within the 10 mile radios.. and again it's just people twitting. You can get wind up merchants, it's looking like everyone is watching those plants now. The aftershocks are annoying but I saw an old lady walking whilst an aftershock was taking place and she swayed a bit and waved her walking stick at the air in annoyance .. made me smile.

Harley you was the first friend I made at Avalon because I noticed you spoke volumes of sense and I have printed out your instructions and have printed out many of the links that everyone else has took the time out to uplink. You have all been so helpful with the information you have added. Even the downwind err sorry Ski- upwind one made me laugh.

If it was just me and the misses then we'd of gone by now but we'd have to kidnap her (I refuse to move mother) and grab pets and collect everyone else. There'd be about 5 of us and me and misses have both had good rests and ready to do this. Once the moment comes when we look at each other and say lets do it then thou shall be done.

Personally I wanted to go up north and help people and do my bit but the misses stuck a fat cork in that gun. In which she was right of course. So I'm praying that a nuclear disaster isn't on the elitists cards. Because I actually think this problem could be stamped out but if the big boys want to use Japan as an example again of how dangerous NPP are then I'm afraid they are fighting a loosing battle.

Anyway thats my position at the moment..

I read an article in the news paper in Denmark today stating that an earth quake this serious is seen on an average of once in ten years. The news is that we have now had 6 of these in 7 years. Just a fact to the table.

New report says Reactor Core could melt down and winds would/could blow towards North America.

News report says that people living near the Reactor have been given Iodine as a precautionary measure.

Question...If Iodine can be used as a precautionary measure against radiation poisoning,should we here in North America buy some before there's a run on it?

Anyone know the doses? I'll go Google. But can't be too careful right?

Fortunately those in Japan that still eat a traditional Japanese diet of seaweed and fish have good stores of iodine in their bodies already. They should do all they can to continue with traditional diets.. This does not mean that they should not take supplemental iodien though.

It is difficult to overdose on iodine as the kidneys will readily dispose of excess, even with huge dosages.

Those who can migrate to other nation should or be prepared for more changes coming.
