Japan tsunami survivor Hiromitsu Shinkawa found 10 miles out at sea

    Justin McCurry in Tokyo
    guardian.co.uk, Sunday 13 March 2011

Rescuers spot 60-year-old from ***ushima prefecture clinging to the roof of his home two days after the tsunami struck

Tsunami victim Hiromitsu Shinkawa, 65, waves to rescuers who spotted him floating on the roof of his home nearly 10 miles out to sea.

A 60-year-old man has been found on the roof of his floating house nearly 10 miles out at sea, two days after the tsunami that devastated the north-east coast of Japan.

Hiromitsu Shinkawa must have resigned himself to his fate when he was swept away by the retreating tsunami that roared ashore in his home town of Minami Soma in ***ushima prefecture.

As the wave approached, Shinkawa took the fateful decision to return home to collect belongings. Minutes later he was out at sea clinging to a piece of the roof from his own home.

Incredibly, he was spotted by a maritime self-defence force destroyer taking part in the rescue effort as he clung to the wreckage with one hand and waved a self-made red flag with the other. He had been at sea for two days.

Reports said that on being handed a drink aboard the rescue boat, Shinkawa gulped it down and immediately burst into tears. His wife, with whom he had returned home as the tsunami approached, is still missing.

He was quoted as saying: "No helicopters or boats that came nearby noticed me. I thought that day was going to be the last day of my life."

Officials said Shinkawa was in good condition after being taken to hospital by helicopter.

"I ran away after I heard a tsunami was coming," he told Jiji Press. "But I turned back to fetch something from home and was swept away. I was rescued while hanging on to the roof of my house."

The self-defence forces said the good weather and calm waters had allowed Shinkawa to stay alive during his 48-hour drift.

here a well equiped amateur astronomer says that it is not a comet, as this women is speaking about, but a brown dwarf showing up. He agrees there is something. And he shows where it is, how it is coming and that the worst to come is in october/november.
    Here his video
I watched this, and I almost couldn't stop laughing. He gives a whole new meaning to the word 'amateur.' It sounds like complete nonsense to me. Sorry if this offends anyone, but my opinion is that this is either disinfo, or just plain delusional. There are so many problems with what he is claiming and showing, I don't even know where to begin, and why bother. Please, make an effort and inform yourself about some basic astronomical science before taking any of these types of things on faith.

I think there is a very good case for a brown dwarf (or some other massive object) partner to our sun, but what he is talking about is just nonsensical.

    Hi Yoda!

Although there's enough room in the whole of Canada to locate a power plant on solid granit ground; do you know where these ****heads put a nuclear power plant?

That's right, right on the St lawrence fault system! Pickering...

Same in Quebec, in Beauhanois, on the St-Lawrence fault. Worst stupidity yet, we have so much hydro power, selling it all over New England, that we never needed nuclear!
Just curious, but is Bruce Point on a fault too? My late uncle worked on it when it was being built, and we often drove by it when we came to visit.

    Japan's Shinmoedake Volcano Erupts

    Guam News - Guam News

Guam - Yet one more crisis for Japan to cope with this morning [Monday], after an earthquake and tsunami Friday, followed by the threat of nuclear plant meltdowns over the weekend, a volcano began erupting in Southern Japan Sunday.

The Shinmoedake volcano on the southern island of Kyushu began spewing ash and boulders Sunday. Its not clear yet whether the eruption is related to Friday's earthquake.

Media reprots say the explosion from the eruption could be heard miles away and an ash plume extended two miles into the sky. Hundreds of people have been forced to flee.

Read the account in the LA Times

The volcano is 950 miles from the epicenter of Friday's earthquake.

The Shinmoedake volcano is one of several volcanic peaks in the Kirishima mountain range.

The volcano erupted in January - the first major seismic activity on the mountain in 52 years. Scientists say lava had been building up in recent weeks.

One thing to know about the Great Lakes is that most of them are fault-bounded.

So, lets have a look at the Bruce nuclear generating station:

I found an english version of a Japanese newsource that is posting updates many times per hour. Can't keep up with this thread so forgive me if it has already been posted.

No idea if it can be trusted any more than other media but since it is local to the ongoing events one would *hope* it would have more honesty and integrity than some (check on bottom half of link for the "Latest News" scroller):

Oh dear - this is strange.

I can see all four attachments just fine, using my "super powers" administrator login, but when I use my "regular member" login, I get the same error you do.

    This may take some investigation.

    Thanks for noticing.

    Hi, thanks for debunking Dionysus.

You are the one giving the information on astronomical science and debunking here.

Aren't we in this forum for this? Helping each other with debunking. One cannot have knowledge in every single field of expertise on this planet, and starting to learn astromony to debunk would take weekis.

so thanks for the help. I will be happy to do some debunking for you when a topic is more related to my own knowledge base, for which i would not expect you, and would not ask from you, to have to do weeks of training in order to debunk. I will be happy to help you then.

Your way of talking about the outmost ridiculous statements of the video is quite descriptive. I cannot do otherwise than fully beleive you, even if I still don't quite know why. I would not mind about a fast astronomy description of the false video statements so that I can learn and debunk myself next time.

    Thank you.

I edited my post, because no more need to give me why the vidoe was so funny, debunking has been explained at lenght in another thread, which now helps me go futher in understanding. This is why we are here!!

Yes thats right. Brown Dwarf Stars give off very little visible light, they are visible only in the Infra red spectrum.

O.K. I want to say something.

I have had quite a few members from this site offering me help financially and they were very genuine in offering me cash. I understand how helpless you all might feel and that you would like to donate funds to me but seriously I'm fine. I have enough cash.
I have worked hard as a street entertainer with my buddy and the misses always stashed money away as she is the boss of us both. She gives us weekly pocket money lol.. She controls our jobs sells our t-shirts and manages festivals and we are the monkeys that do the shows.
We have the best life in that sense as we don't have to answer to anyone. (except my misses)

I have spent many years being homeless but that all changed once we created Funny Bones (if you don't know what that is there is a link in my signature) so financially I am sound.

I want to put a stop to this before it starts because it's not needed. But letting me know what areas you live in and if I'm in your area is all great because I travel a lot and would love to meet some of you wonderful people. If any of you see my show live and I hold out my hat THEN by all means give me everything you have lol…

I'm getting goose bumps because of your generosity.

I once had to do show in an airport terminal because I didn't have enough money to pay the airport tax.
Now I feel that I have people out there that would help me If a similar problem arose. This isn't one of those times.

So I have to decline your unbelievably generous offer.

    You're ALL simply amazing.

    Love & light

I'm getting goose bumps because of your generosity.

Thank you for your goose bumps, and your honesty.

`You are surely aware that Guy Laliberté, owner of the Cirque du Soleil, and now billionnaire, started just like you guys, in the street, doing shows for the public and picking up the change in the hats.

Saw your videos, you are quite good,

Good luck with all the change coming (in all its definitions)

Hope to see you in one of Montreal festivals

its almost seems like Japan islands are under a massive attach from mother earth atm (quakes, volcanoes, all its left is bad weather...) I am not sure if its natural or human (haarp etc) but i wish this will pass soon and japan starts to recover soon.

    With love Themistoklis.
