The thank you button is not enough here...

I would like to thank all the people who participated in this thread.
All the updates, the outpouring of love and concern for fellow human beings, had me in tears a couple of times.

And now having watched the videos that jackovesk uploaded...
I realise what wonderful therapy humour can be.
What happened and is happening is no laughing matter, but here was a small moment in space and time where I got to "forget" and simply be in joy.Thank you.

Amongst the rollercoaster of emotions at this tragic happening, I still managed to see the beauty in the nature of our being.
SKIBADABOMSKI, a special thanks to you and all that you do. What a talent.
I hope that you are safe and that everything turns out okay for you and your family.
The heart knows a hundred thousand ways to speak.

Too many people need my help here and I just can't abandon everyone. I didn't want to tell you all this because I don't want you to worry.

    Yes there maybe more earthquakes..
Yes there will be bunches of aftershocks..
Yes we could have more tsunamis..
Yes the nuclear plant is just nerve racking and could.. (??????) don't want to think about that.
Yes and we have volcanoes erupting.

But seriously I just know I'll make it.

I have asked a few of you what should I do and I shouldn't of done that. Guess I was testing myself for making the choice that deep down I already knew the answer to. I won't run away from this one because I just simply could not handle leaving behind people whom I care about. I made Japan my home base and I should respect everything this wonderful country has done for me.

From April I will be traveling around the world working in Australia, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and Thailand. But for now I must compose myself as more and more people seem to be joining us here because they feel safe with us. We have at least 30 people now. Like I said " If I was alone I'd be long gone " but I have a lot of friends here so I'm sticking it out.

Oh and everyone who is with us are all financially very stable. We'll take care of each other for the next month until we start our travels. Most are performers and performers families ect ect.

O.K. glad I got that of my chest because I want to join in with other topics and try and get back to wandering around the Avalon Enterprise learning and educating myself with all your wisdom.

I have collected some great stories from this chaos and look forward to sharing them with you all.

My electric will be turned of soon.. yes it's our areas turn today.

May the custodians bless you all.

Default Re: THAT WAS MASSIVE 9.1 in Japan (Tsunami)

I’ve just watched yet another episode of the latest Sky News extravaganza called ‘Japan Disaster’ – there’s a more reserved version on BBC, and spin-off copies elsewhere, but Sky News does it best. Chunking ersatz electronic orchestral chords chopping away over clips of the most dreadful scenes of terror and destruction with genuine foreign-language screams – quite as good as Winston Smith’s description of the film he watched in 1984. Absolute tragedy boiled down to neat little clips played over and over, rivalling with the finest Hollywood disaster-movie teasers. Mind-control it certainly is, but it stinks to death of state-of-the-art marketing. It’s the Coliseum.

What was worth seeing was an interview with the leader of a British search and rescue unit. I didn’t catch his name, but it will probably be posted in the next episode – coming right up in 20 minutes time, just after the Stock Market prices and the football scores. He was being interviewed by one of those ugly, egocentric, self-important, ratchet-speaking little Noddy mother****ers whose jobs consist entirely of looking dashing as they fill the public trough with the next load of bull****.

This man explained calmly what his team was about to go and do, in concert with teams from China, the USA and Japan of course – save as many lives as possible, repair what could still be repaired, and bring supplies to the needy. Years of training and experience, all for one fine quite natural purpose. It was his quiet simplicity that counted – an expert in helping other human beings through seemingly impossible difficulties, a man who spends his life being of service, calmly prepared. That’s what's worth concentrating on, the fact that in moments like this, the truth of us will out – no artificial ideologies or fake frontiers standing in the way. Just basic human solidarity. And for once, soldiers being put to good use, doing something constructive. Just like the true heroes of 9/11 are the hundreds of men and women who spent weeks and months sifting through the detritus, trying to make sense of it all. And when they fall sick, what do they get in return? Just like the soldiers who come back from so many pointless wars, crippled and broken. They are offered as little as possible, a quantity the government specializes in

I’m ****ing sick of seeing clips of armoured gorillas charging off to destroy lives and traumatize generations in the name of whatever slogan is currently fashionable. And of smooth-faced shiny-haired little teachers’ pets mouthing their own unremitting tsunami of intellectual rationalizations of disasters of which they have no care or understanding. Bought and paid for.

Why does it have to be tragedies of this magnitude to show us who we really are? Let us please take a moment to pray or meditate or visualize for positive results as far as possible in this situation – with the certainty that this positive energy is real, and that it will be magnified beyond all measure and guided to best use.

So great to read this. I think staying put is an inspired decision. You're right where you're supposed to be. May sound weird but.. enjoy. These are fascinating times and it's good to be in a place where you can be of service.
Out beyond the ideas of right-doing or wrong-doing there is a field- I'll meet you there.

Good luck Skida our hearts and souls are with you (from me and learninglight) hope your safe as can be...

Aljazera news channel said the russians have sourced some electric power for japan... i have no idea whether they can get this power to you guys or not,, but its a piece of optimism in a dire situation...

One thing i must point out to you is the RSOE - EDIS site is showing you have an outbreak of bird flu, although it is not saying any human casualties, they are reportedly culling the birds.....

"Avian influenza infection was confirmed among chickens at a poultry farm in Chiba city, marking the first such case in the Kanto region centering on Tokyo, the Chiba prefectural government said. Local authorities began culling about 35,000 birds at the farm yesterday and restricted the movements of another 869,000 birds being raised within a 10-kilometer radius of the farm in question. ''This is a very severe situation as damage from the huge earthquake is also serious,'' Chiba Gov Kensaku Morita said at a press conference, referring to the powerful quake that struck northeastern and eastern Japan on Friday. A total of four birds were found dead at the Chiba farm on Friday and Saturday, and a genetic test confirmed that four out of seven birds checked were infected by a highly pathogenic strain of bird flu virus, local government officials said. Chiba is Japan's second-largest chicken egg producing prefecture. "

Keep your eyes and ears open to check for more confirmation of this..

And also for news on the other nuclear plants..

    Take care and cosmic blessings

This is the decision that we would all hope to have the courage to make. What sort of enlightenment can we show by running for the hills, away from what exactly? Bravo Ski, and also for the comedy which is definitely in the right place at the right time. take care

Dear Creator, let your will for me be known.
Use me, oh Creator, as your creation.
When a kind word needs to be spoken, use my voice.
When a load needs to be lifted, use my back.
When a hug needs to be given, use my arms.
When a journey needs to be taken, use my feet.
When a message needs to be delivered, use my mind.
When a friend needs to be loved, use my heart.
In all things, in all ways,
    use me oh Creator,
as your instrument of love, faith, peace and tranquility.

Why does it have to be tragedies of this magnitude to show us who we really are? Let us please take a moment to pray or meditate or visualize for positive results as far as possible in this situation – with the certainty that this positive energy is real, and that it will be magnified beyond all measure and guided to best use.
Perhaps, at some level, the purpose of tragedies like these is to show us who really are. Both individually and collectively.

I can appreciate your sense of frustration with the mainstream media. I don't even have a TV, so I can only see the 'news' when I'm over with my children.

    Wow Ski,
I am literally bawling my eyes out right now. I know I can be such a weeny! LOL

But Truly, all nervous kidding aside, the love you have for your "growing family", your bravery, you want to help others and stay to steer the ship.... it touches me so deep inside that I feel I am right there with you. I feel all of us here at Avalon are with you!

There really are no boundaries. Love teaches us that. Just when we think we are so full that our heart simply can't expand yet again, then there it does and there is room for more....there is always room for more.

You inspire me so much, Ski! I KNOW you are going to be better than just fine. You WILL beat the odds. In the beauty of all of this I feel like I have actually seen the face of GOD!!! You are going to thrive! Enjoy the beauty and please share when you can!

Much Love to all of you! (Still Bawlin'... I guess these are tears of awe)

Power company officials are apologising to the Japanese people.

    Addendum:
This explosion is different from the gas pressure releases reported previously.
It was within the chamber followed by a sudden pressure drop in the pool.
This does not necessarily mean there is an increased danger of radiation venting into the atmosphere.

Ski, your courage and compassion move me. You are indeed a credit to Project Avalon. Let's hope your example will inspire others.

    Take care
