Just got this in an email. Names removed to protect the innocent

This is a beautiful and touching reminder that at heart we are good and adversity can bring out the best in us:

    From: XXX
    Date: 3/15/2011 9:40:51 AM
    Subject: A personal glimpse

Dear Everyone: here is an e-mail from the friend of a friend presently in Japan. She very movingly describes the way people are coming together in the course of this disaster. This sort of personal report is worth so much more than what the msm puts out .... love XXX

Hello My Lovely Family and Friends,

First I want to thank you so very much for your concern for me. I am very touched. I also wish to apologize for a generic message to you all. But it seems the best way at the moment to get my message to you.

Things here in Sendai have been rather surreal. But I am very blessed to
have wonderful friends who are helping me a lot. Since my shack is even
more worthy of that name, I am now staying at a friend's home. We share
supplies like water, food and a kerosene heater. We sleep lined up in one room, eat by candlelight, share stories. It is warm, friendly, and beautiful.

During the day we help each other clean up the mess in our homes. People sit in their cars, looking at news on their navigation screens, or line up to get drinking water when a source is open. If someone has water running in their home, they put out sign so people can come to fill up their jugs
    and buckets.

Utterly amazingly where I am there has been no looting, no pushing in
lines. People leave their front door open, as it is safer when an
earthquake strikes. People keep saying, "Oh, this is how it used to be in the old days when everyone helped one another."

Quakes keep coming. Last night they struck about every 15 minutes. Sirens
are constant and helicopters pass overhead often.

We got water for a few hours in our homes last night, and now it is for
half a day. Electricity came on this afternoon. Gas has not yet come on.

But all of this is by area. Some people have these things, others do not.
No one has washed for several days. We feel grubby, but there are so much
more important concerns than that for us now. I love this peeling away of
non-essentials. Living fully on the level of instinct, of intuition, of caring, of what is needed for survival, not just of me, but of the entire group.

There are strange parallel universes happening. Houses a mess in some
places, yet then a house with futons or laundry out drying in the sun.

People lining up for water and food, and yet a few people out walking
their dogs. All happening at the same time.

Other unexpected touches of beauty are first, the silence at night. No
cars. No one out on the streets. And the heavens at night are scattered
with stars. I usually can see about two, but now the whole sky is filled.

The mountains are Sendai are solid and with the crisp air we can see them
    silhouetted against the sky magnificently.

And the Japanese themselves are so wonderful. I come back to my shack to
check on it each day, now to send this e-mail since the electricity is on,
and I find food and water left in my entranceway. I have no idea from
whom, but it is there. Old men in green hats go from door to door checking
to see if everyone is OK. People talk to complete strangers asking if they
need help. I see no signs of fear. Resignation, yes, but fear or panic,
    no.

They tell us we can expect aftershocks, and even other major quakes, for another month or more. And we are getting constant tremors, rolls, shaking, rumbling. I am blessed in that I live in a part of Sendai that is a bit elevated, a bit more solid than other parts. So, so far this area is better off than others. Last night my friend's husband came in from the country, bringing food and water. Blessed again.

Somehow at this time I realize from direct experience that there is indeed
an enormous Cosmic evolutionary step that is occurring all over the world
right at this moment. And somehow as I experience the events happening now
in Japan, I can feel my heart opening very wide. My brother asked me if I
felt so small because of all that is happening. I don't. Rather, I feel as
part of something happening that much larger than myself. This wave of
birthing (worldwide) is hard, and yet magnificent.

Thank you again for your care and Love of me,

With Love in return, to you all,
    XXX

I've been asking for Thorium reactors to replace Uranium...

Maybe Japan is a great place to start...

of course the oil companies must be really sad now that the 300,000 electric vehicles coming this way...

maybe I should forward plans to Toyota to run electric vehicles without plugging them in...

Radiation exceeds limits at Ibaraki facility

A University of Tokyo facility in Ibaraki Prefecture, north of Tokyo, has reported radiation levels higher than legal standards.

The facility alerted the central government on Tuesday after it registered 5 microsieverts per hour before 8:00 AM and the radiation level continued to exceed the yardstick figure designated by a law for 10 straight minutes.

The facility is located in Tokai village, about 110 kilometers south of the ***ushima No.1 nuclear power plant.

The facility says the radiation level later fell to 3 microsieverts per hour. It says normally the reading is at around 0.05 microsieverts per hour.

It sounds more like a school essay, the type you write to sooth your conscience after helping to build hundreds of nuclear plants all over the world,
so how these 'kids' of yours could ever do serious damage eh

People of this calibre will try to deny radiation leaks affecting generations and imply that anyone without their qualification is unable to evaluate the risks.

Why don't more experts join in to help in the ***ushima ? All world is watching it so why those with experience don't join the team there ?

    Aren't they scared.

MIT has now set up a Nuclear Information Hub. (http://web.mit.edu/nse/)

The site us updated as events develop in Japan .

Interestingly, they are using Josef Oehmen's article (referenced above).

Here's their comments regarding the article:

Quote ***Note that the title of the original blog does not reflect the views of the authors of the site. The authors have been monitoring the situation, and are presenting facts on the situation as they develop. The original article was adopted as the authors believed it provided a good starting point to provide a summary background on the events at the ***ushima plant.***

    G'day All,

The ***ushima power plant situation is reported to have worsened in the last 12 hours.
There are concerns that reactor #2 concrete containment has cracked.
70% of rods in reactor #1 and a third of rods in reactor #2 have sustained "some damage".
The 50 workers who were at the plant are reported to have been withdrawn.
Reactor #4 cooling pond for spent rods is reported to have caught fire and been put out.
The credibility of TEPCO is being questioned by msm.
Four of the six reactors have experienced a variety of failures.
There is still a general concensus that the risk of a Chernobyl like event is minimal within the scientific community.
I am unable to verify reports via the IAEA website as it is reporting a 503 Service Error (probably due to server overload).

A white smoke, or gas is reported to be coming from reactor #3 which is more than likely steam.
Weather last night changed back to the preferred off-shore and is likely to continue for the next few days.

    Kind Regards,
    Panopticon

    Janos:

Quote Not to alarm anyone, but just some basic math here:

63 spent fuel rods per assembly (some plutonium some uranium) x 3,450 assemblies = 217,350 spent fuel rods PER reactor.

There are 4 reactors that have either exploded, partially vaporized, or are currently on fire.

And for the past 3 days, the 'experts' have quoted that a 'worst case scenario' would be the fuel rods on fire.

Well... the fuel rods are on fire.

    What now?

Not butting in Icecold, but I'm just pasting a post copied from other forum:

***ushima nuke plant situation 'worsened considerably': think tank

The situation at the quake-hit ***ushima No. 1 nuclear plant in northeastern Japan ''has worsened considerably,'' the Institute for Science and International Security said in a statement released Tuesday.
Referring to fresh explosions that occurred earlier in the day at the site and problems in a pool storing spent nuclear fuel rods, the Washington-based think tank said, ''This accident can no longer be viewed as a level 4 on the International Nuclear and Radiological Events scale that ranks events from 1 to 7.''

    http://english.kyodonews.jp/news/2011/03/78374.html

    Unquote

7 is the maximum ranking apparently. With the rods on fire it's 'Chernobyl-on-steriods' and Chernobyl was a 7

My prayers go out to the Japanese, but at the same time, I think we need to also look at the positive aspects of this earthquake. There has to be a silver lining.

I hope people increasingly realize that nuclear power is a senseless idea to start with and increase the pressure on their governments to introduce free energy (We can only hope).

Germany already stated they will close down some reactors (that is quite strange). Looking at the Gulf Spill (a hit on oil) and now this hit on nuclear power, and all those UFO sightings over the quake area makes me wonder what is really going on.

Many unawakened people like my friends have begun to wonder if the world will really end, and started questioning many things. Previously they have been materialistic and have not the slightest idea that there is so much more to this life than what they have been conditioned with.

It is actually a good reality check time for "truthers" to talk some sense into them now.
