• Isn't 3x FTL still pretty slow for most interstellar travel? (Wormhole/stargate travel - which is almost instant, yes? - must surely be infinitely more efficient)

• How can an aquatic species evolve to become a technological culture as tool makers?

My skepticism, Onyxknight, amounts to two nagging questions.

One, why would one extraterrestial race choose you, a human unit of modest experience (age 22) and modest Earthly presence (here, I've taken the liberty to assume that you do not belong to any power structure; you may correct me if I am wrong in that assumption)?

Two A, what is the probability that more than one extraterrestial race would contact the same inexperienced human unit (of modest Earthly presence) ... for purposes of contact? Two B, how steeply does this probability diminish with each successive ET race that allegedly makes contact with the aforementioned human unit? To wit, do all the ET races get together and vote on the specific human unit(s) to be targeted for contact, prior to making contact? If so, do you not see the absurdity of that proposition?

You make faith sound like a dirty word.

And without faith, being willing to listen, and being willing to suspend our own disbelief, we are never going to get ourselves of the old-paradigm-thinking we've been stuck in for so long.

You're smart enough to know you've asked Onyx questions that he cannot answer, whether his experiences were real or not.

That means that your post was mere rhetoric that translates as I don't believe you.

Zook, you're jealous, admit it. I am too, but what can we do? And who are we to judge who is suitable to be contacted. All we see is our (quite limited) perspective.
By my (humble) experience Onyx's info has a huge value. And every one of us has a right to believe it or not. And selecting "common" people is saying to me that the species he's involved with has a positive intention.

The right question seems to be 'why' would they spend so much energy on educating few individuals who are existentially tampered with since cradle if they did not expect these individuals to communicate the knowledge to the rest of human race ,
and why this all is being carried to the risk of the individuals being doubted , ridiculed and not listened to by human society .

It's not that your questions are unanswerable but without personal need and experience of such kind, do you wish to have them answered ?

They say an elephant has a good memory ...so also those who are to carry some extra ordinary message for mankind need to have one,

with that comes ..we also remember all the hurts .

Not so long ago , this forum has voted ( oh really that's what you did ) whether to accept answers from another member ..
"important answers " from " important member ".

The whole system seemed to depend on few dedicated individuals , Bill as the leader of this sub-project , in that case ,
someone who trusted the individual fully .

There was no rational test of that individuals actual abilities and truthfulness in place , there were crowd emotions in place and who trusts whom .

It's illogical , fleeting , very transitory phenomenon , human race standing in front of a decision with buttons ,
should they judge the process as too difficult they simply will be 'clicking' here on yellow button, now red button perhaps ,
let's trust him, let's distrust him, let's remain impartial and show no feelings .

No matter how well you explain yourself , no matter how sophisticated are your considerations that's mostly,
how you behave unless forced by the social paradigm or immediate emotion to someone to behave friendlier .

You may feel to have all the answers or be convinced that there's no ultimate answer at all .

You may feel superior or inferior yet the feeling itself has 80% probability to be faulty .


One would feel good to answer here thinking it has a meaning corresponding to the knowledge level shared , cosmic proportions ..

One: There are many extraterrestrial races out in the Universe. Maybe one of the races wanted contact. For all we know the other races may have contact with other humans already. And maybe these humans have an open mind. Maybe they think outside of the box instead of inside of the box? I don't know, it is speculation. It is a thought.

Zook I could get down to the nitty gritty and ask you why were you chosen to be born. But I won't.

The only thing I know, is that the Universe is huge. And I believe we will have Contact one day. Besides if you really think of it, of Contact, we have made contact ourselves with the different types of nations. We sailed the oceans to find other humans. We made Contact. We even made contact with animals. To communicate. So needless to say, the extraterrestrials are probably doing the same thing as we did. And why not someone who is inexperienced? Someone who is experienced may need to be untaught to learn a certain way. We have been so conditioned in life. We think differently. Someone who does not have the life experience, is not conditioned, may be more open to new ideas. To new experiences.

Alas, these are my opinions. Just like you have yours. Keep an open mind though. We are all here to learn and to grow. Even I have my moments of disbelief. Yes I too have my doubts. And I take it with a grain of salt.

I just stumbled upon this thread today. Thank you for sharing and spending considerable amount of time composing your thoughts and answering questions. Perhaps the answer to Zook’s 1st question, “Why you?” is answered by your willingness to spend so much energy to communicate your experiences. (perhaps even at the risk of your own health)… perhaps not so random after all.

They resemble yellowish "ghostly" jellyfish and are quite "gaseous" looking them from a distance.

This is an amazing account thus far Onyx. I just got through part one and I'm about to get into part 2. I have to say I'm quite jealous already, I'm sitting here bored out of my skull while your flying about in countless different spacecrafts meeting all these new life forms. Assuming this is all true (and somehow it resonates, with me at least), then your life is basically Star Wars lol (One of the Species you described even sounds a lot like Chewbacca ). Yes i agree absolutely.Perhaps this is why we don't hear much about the type of tech the et's have and how their societies function etc.A lot of it might be beyond our comprehension and understanding.Some of these beings might be millions/billions of years more advanced than us.Many might of gone beyond the need for any tech etc
