    Default Dreams Of Avalon

Hi everybody, I must admit I am borrowing from SKIBADABOMSKI'S thread "FACES OF AVALON", but hey, it works. Thanks SKIB. I see threads here and there concerning different aspects of dreaming, and thought maybe we could have one central place to come and share our dreaming experiences, if so desired.

This can be for simple sharing, interpretation requests, whatever. There should never be any limits when it comes to our dreams, huh?

O.K., I'll go first. This is one I wrote down a few months ago:

There was a man in the community, looked something like Obi Won Kenobi but 20 years older, who was well known to have the rather peculiar habit of communing in the wild with the largest and the oldest of the grizzly bear population. Like gorilla silverbacks. For years now he had occasionally sat very still quietly with one or the other in their very lair, and claimed that the experience was sort of a purification, a healing of sorts. Anyone who so dared to share in his experience was more then welcome, but it was well understood that the slightest movement in the great bear's presence, or sign of fear, would cause you to be instantly ripped to shreds. If you stayed perfectly still, and without fear, you were safe and would receive the purification. The great beast lived by this ethos and would not deviate under any circumstance.

I decided to take the old man up on his offer, along with another man close to his age. We crawled through the opening and into the lair, like a big stone igloo. Spacious inside. There was a couch and a table. The old man sat down on one end of the couch, I chose to sit indian style next to him on the floor, and the other gentleman sat at the table.

Once the great animal made his entrance, there was no turning back. What he liked to do was to get in real nice and close to people, let you feel, to know his massiveness and beastly strength, then sniff your scent and lick you all over, tasting you so to speak. Verrrrry slowly, just daring you to twitch. The great old beast went first to the man at the table, who promptly lost his nerve and jumped up to leave. The old man and I begged him to sit down, but it was too late. The bear was on him, and the last thing I saw was a few pounds of flesh hanging out of the great beast's mouth.

No fear I told myself. When he was done he paused briefly at the old man next to me, and then to me. "No fear Fred, no fear Fred" I was thinking. I felt the hot stinking breath on the back of my neck, then the huge tongue, smelling my scent, tasting me, just waiting for the first little twitch, or the faintest scent of fear. I can still feel it. There was no fear, but it was riding the razor's edge. With that, I received the bear's grudging approval, and was released to wake up and start the day.

Thanks Fred. Your dream feels so familiar to me. Not so much the actual circumstances but the emotions, stepping up into your power, no fear.

I have a dream that has stayed with me for years. I wrote it down so am going to go find it (on my old laptop) and post it here.

    Great thread!

Dreams Of Avalon, very catchy Fred lol..

Here is a dream that I'll never ever forget as it happened when I was very suicidal and was on the brink of becoming an entertainer.

I woke up in a coffin and was breathing through a pipe and I could hear shuffling going on above me so I knew I wasn't too deep. Then a voice spoke down my breathing pipe " something coming your way " then a screwdriver hit my cheek, I frantically started to wedge open the coffin lid and once daylight starting showing I kicked the roof of the coffin and scrambled out as if I was being attacked by venomous ants.

Around me was just a huge circle of grass with trees blocking every view, I was in a type of lagoon and in the dead center was this young tree and me of course. I noticed a piece of paper on the tree and it read " The trees are your audience and this tree is the performer and grass is your stage "

After this dream I have always wanted to turn the dream into a story as I go and hunt the person whom did this to me as he keeps leaving me messages throughout my life until finally he tells me he'll no longer be helping me as I'll soon be rich.

His last message was to write a book. It was a best seller lol...

So my dream became a reality and now a fantasy.

    Great thread.

I can recall the basics of a short, though, important dream I experienced a few months ago. A little background information, I've been doing lots of reading and placing my intent on raising my vibration, in a nutshell. And what's interesting about this dream, before I explain my dream, is that it reflects my intentions/desires/direction in life etc. of my reality while awake. I was in a house I had never been in before though the atmosphere of the house resonated with familiarity. My family and I, minus my oldest brother were in the house in what seemed to be a "family night". All of a sudden my mother and I had a small disagreement and it seemed to expand uncontrollably, and for no real reason. In the midst of all this I was quite calm and had control over myself and all of a sudden I felt a dark presence of anger and my oldest brother ran into the room and immediately took our mothers side and for no apparent reason that I could discern. And as he took my mothers position he started to instigate me through yelling and words, not necessarily bad though, filled with anger. And suddenly I walked out the front door instead of allowing myself to become overwhelmed with negative emotion. When I awoke I had a negative vibe about the whole dream because of my brother but the more I contemplate, the more I realize that my brother, in my dream, was probably my ego and the fact that I walked away from the incident showed that I was growing in strength since its not always easy to walk away from a negative confrontation.

I'd like to share a recent dream I had and have been obsessing over. To me its quite a unique dream seeing as I never experience similarities of what occurred.

In the dream, I'm walking down a dim lit street for no particular reason. At one point it gets completely dark, I immediately try and hug the nearest structure with my back as I look up and see a bright orange orb flying in straight line across the sky pushing apart the clouds in a cylindrical fashion as it moved. As soon as I can visually see this in my dream, another orb comes from behind me and begins to circle around the small structure I'm near, this is when I drop to my knees, it's now circling around me as I begin closing my eyes and it begins spiraling upwards above me.

With my eyes closed I begin to try and express all those positive feelings I've read on the forums to do when calling out for an encounter. Whilst I do this, I get a surge of just joy over me and begin vibrating immensely (akin to shaking vigorously when nervous), it is at this moment that I decide to open my eyes having had my head tilted up Feeling the orb above me, but upon opening my eyes I'm actually awakening, still vibrating immensely.

The fact I Felt and Heard its presence so realistically within the dream, and my jitters during and after was well enough to give me a really great impression and constantly wonder What this really was/meant.

Although its quite short and probably meaningless, and fun to speculate. Too much REM sleep ^^ I thought I'd share.

    Much Love

I had this dream this morning in that short period of time between waking up and getting up. Snooze mode. It's an unusual one for me, so I thought I might post it. If it's boring please move on!!

I was a priest stood at a window looking out over a busy street full of schoolchildren making their way home at the end of the schoolday. I raised my arms and tried to create an energy ball between my two outstrectched hands. I was aware that although I was creating this ball quite successfully, it was lacking its full potential because my right-hand was leading. I am right-handed, so focused really hard so that my left hand worked as hard as my right. When this occurred the energy in the ball became really strong, and at its peak I brought it in to my own chest and empowered myself with it as it were.

I was then stood at a mirror. I was the priest of course, but it was not my face. I had a beard and glasses. I had a pimple on my face and attempted to squeeze it. Pus came out, and kept coming like toothpaste from a tube, except that its diameter increased as it did so. At the end it looked like the root of a plant with a curve, similar to the curve of a jaw-line and about 6-7 inches long. I looked at it with some amusement and showed it to my nephews who were gathered around me. I wasn't disturbed by it, I was relieved I think. By the way, I'm not a priest and I'm not religious though I did do energy balls for a while many years ago and was impressed with the results.

    Cheers!

I have really intense dreams on occasion, fraught with meaning. Once, a few years back, a friend of mine who is a very well respected wise woman, in a dream she showed me a poster print which had a 3d image of a very beautiful green skinned old fashioned witch, black pointy hat and broom and all. There were many four line stanzas of this shimmering script going down the side and upon awakening I could still very clearly remember those first four lines:

    I am secret things
    I am hidden things
    I am dark things
    I am the hidden book

Here's one I had as a teenager that has played a part in "remembering":

I am on a planet of fire, leading an army of several thousand, we are approaching a tall tower surrounded by pits of steam and fire bursts. As I take off my protective helmet I sign for the army to wait, I enter the tower, there are seven floors in it and I ascend the stairs, on the top floor there is a person waiting for me, an elder. I tell him: "I have come to conquer you.".

With that he raises his hand and says: "Before you do that, let me show you something."

He motions for me to come closer, which I do with caution, and shows a miniature model, it is a model of the Universe, with galaxies, solar systems, planets and stars in motion, showing the relations of everything in real time, the colors are so vibrant (imagine birth and death of space taking place at the same time) and as I watch it the elder takes me to the "edge of the universe", he introduces himself as the technician, one, who played a part in manufacturing our existence, he shows me the beginning, the history... How this universe came into being and how stars were born, planets formed, civilizations sprung, struggled to survive, bloomed, faced conflict with other intelligent forms, made treaties, lived through times of peace, warred and eventually withered away, some ascended, this huge download of knowledge, and it was so overwhelming I began to weep.

The elder I had come to conquer told me that it was all he could show me and stopped the scenery before us, he said we were looking at the Milky Way galaxy and the positions of the planets at the moment I was born at in this solar system we are in now, he said he would send me back and I would have to figure out the rest on my own. And with that said I woke up here.

    Default Re: Dreams of avalon

A few weeks prior to the first dream I recounted in this thread I had what was the real kick off for that particular dream cycle. This was toward the beginning of May of '08.

The dream starts at dawn with me driving an old gray Valiant (dodge?) down the highway. My girlfriend at the time is in the passenger seat, but it seems like every time I look over there someone different is in the passenger seat. It's still early morning when I notice the first cars stopped on the side of the road. As the day progressed I have in the car with me everyone I know, at some point along the way. With the exception of two people, I am always the one driving. One of the ones driving besides myself was the wise woman in the other dream I mentioned, and the other person was my friend Playdoh. It was shortly before noon before I come upon the first wreck. Apparently a car had stopped in the road and another had come along and rear-ended it. After that, it was much slower going, as the afternoon progressed more and more cars were stopped on the road. As the sun goes down I am entering a long, low valley where you can see the road stretch ahead and behind for miles from the bottom. It's twilight and the sky is all pinks and purples.

At this point I have with me a particular friend, Playdoh knows, and around the midpoint of the valley the car sputters, stalls and dies. We coast along for another fifty feet or so before the car stops, and my friend says something to the effect of "damn, now we've stopped, too." We get out and converse for a moment over the car, and it's decided he is going to check on the people in the nearest car ahead (we were the very last ones moving) and I am going to get something out of the trunk. So he starts walking off and I go around back and pop the trunk. I start rummaging around the stuff in the trunk and then I feel someone coming up behind me. I look over my shoulder to see two teenaged black girls walking toward me. They are strutting in that way that only sassy black girls in the US can, each one wearing an old fashioned knee length black denim dress that looks very worn but not actually thread-bare. They each have a gauzy, chiffon type scarf wrapped around them, pinned to the right shoulder wrapping around their torso a few times and pinned to the left hip. The taller of the two was very bright pink and the shorter one's scarf was a very deep, rich indigo purple. Each one was carrying a small piece of luggage, and they walked right up and threw the bags into the trunk and the taller one in pink stepped forward and slammed the trunk and said something like"c'mon, get in the car, we're going." something inside me says to go with it, so I holler at my friend to get in the car, it's time to go. He comes back over with a look of sheer disbelief, knowing the car is dead, but he trusts me so he also goes with it. We hop into the front seats, shut the doors, then the two girls hop in on either side, and as soon as the doors slam we are MOVING. Faster and faster and brithter and brighter until all we can see is light.

So, the next thing I know, the four of us are sitting in the living room at my Mom's house. We are talking and the two girls are actually thanking me and my friend for giving them a ride, as they had tried with everyone else and no one would let them. This is funny, looking back at the dream, because before they showed up we were not going anywhere. This goes on for a bit, and then they say to me, hey you have a birthday coming up, we have a gift for you. So we all stand around the coffee table, and the one in pink opens her little bag and takes out a small package that looks like a card wrapped in purple tissue paper with a crystal across the top that is spiky looking like some types of spirit quartz. She hands it to me, and as I begin to tear open the tissue the crystal disappears. Inside is a blank white card and some kind of token, about the size of a quarter. It is a purple background with seven tiny silver stars and a silver crescent moon opposite a black circle, and the outside rim is silver also. Now I will *attempt* to describe the feeling it gave me when I took the thing into my hand: it's like feeling how much god loves me, along with feeling one with the same, it's a total release of tension, the knowing absolutely that everything is OK, that everything is in hand according to plan and exactly as it's supposed to be. It's all this and a whole lot more, all at once. It really is something way beyond words or descriptions. In the dream, I've gone to my knees and tears are streaming down my face. The girl who gave it to me starts to reach a hand toward my shoulder, and I wave her off saying I'm ok, thank you so much, you don't know how long it's been, you don't know how much I needed this, thank you, thank you, thank you. As I regain my composure, I embrace the girl in pink, saying thank you, again, and as I am hugging her she says softly "you know it's not from me" and I say "I know" and then I turn to hug the other one in purple and as I get my arms around her the dream ends.

whew, that was a lot to type.

Here's one I had as a teenager that has played a part in "remembering":
That is truly mind blowing, and beautifully told. Imagine if we could all have dreams like that, every night!

My contribution will be three dreams. The first as a very young child, the second around the age of eight or nine, and the third as an adolescent, with attempted interpretations on the first two.

I was with my immediate and extended families; aunts, uncles, cousins, perhaps a few dozen in total. We were crossing a rickety rope bridge, that extended between two points of high ground. The bridge was not overly long, but at each end were vertical cliff faces. The scene was like something out of a roadrunner cartoon if that helps. Although I was amongst the group, I was also the observer; like watching a movie with me in it. Although I did not look down, I sensed that the valley below was extremely deep. I saw myself lose my footing and stumble, and try as I may to regain my hold onto something, I simply fell off, now seeing through my own eyes. The roar of the air as it passed by was deafening, and I could feel it's icy bite. Meanwhile, everyone else carried on regardless, and I knew that they were going to cross over safely. I was sure that I was falling to my death. But fortunately, this was a dream, and instead of an untimely death on the valley floor, I awoke on the bedroom floor, as I had rolled out of bed.

This dream has (obviously) stayed with me all my life, as I knew that it had a profound meaning. At first I thought that it was an omen of an early death. That interpretation is a simple one if the dream were taken literally. I now feel that it was an omen, but rather than being of death, it was more to do with the need to fall into ones own abyss, which is exactly what I did in later life. Sometimes, that is where the greatest teaching can take place, and that is how my life played out.

The second dream is a quicky. In the dream, I was looking at an open window, through which a draught blew. It was cold, and I wished to close it. Although I made no move toward it, it slammed shut. At this time, I became aware of a presence in the dream, who, without speaking, let me know that I had closed the window with a power that had been bestowed upon me. Without a word being spoken, I knew that I had to decide where this power had come from, and if it was something that I truly desired. There was a sinister edge to all this, and I was left feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Attempting to interpret this dream was, given my youth, and awkward task. The best that I could do in earlier life was to assume that I had to question where powers that were supernatural in nature actually came from. Anyway, fast forward to last year sometime, and I had decided to read a couple of books on Wicca. I found them fascinating, and spent quite a bit of time on the net as well, flitting from this Wicca site to that, quickly developing a desire to become a sole practitioner. But all the while, I was thinking of that dream, though it was not so much the origin of supernatural power that was now in question, but rather my motivation for seeking it. After weeks of contemplation, I placed the books on my bookshelf, thanked both of them, and thanked my dream. I had finally admitted to myself that, in my case, it was ego that was the driving force, and little else. Nonetheless, telekinesis would be a nifty party trick!

The third dream occurred during adolescence, and was quite etheric in nature. I found myself in deep space, floating on a cloud. (I often gaze at clouds, thinking how wonderful it would be if we were able to hitch a ride). In the distance, amongst the many specks of light, I saw one that I knew was our own Earth. I moved at quite a pace toward it, and soon the oceans, land masses and clouds were visible. Moving down towards the clouds, and eventually through them, was an awe inspiring experience. I turned to see the land as I sped toward it, wondering if I were to simply splatter like a bug on a windscreen. Beautiful green forests lay below me now, and impact was imminent. Would I land gently, perhaps in a field of tall grass? Maybe I was to be safely caught in the branches of a waiting tree. No, I had landed on bitumen, safely though; lying prone, in the middle of a game of netball. I was surrounded by a veritable forest of girls legs. It was sort of an astral journey, with happy ending.

As I said, I shall attempt no interpretation of this dream, suffice to repeat that it occurred during my adolescence.

Thanks Fred, a hoot of a thread.

Fred, do you have any Scandinavian ancestry? If you do then the bear could have been god (odin) and the other two men the two 'faces' of Fred. The wise old sage comfortable in his beliefs (the couch) and the every day Fred in civilisation (the table). It looks like you, sat on the floor like a student, were being shown the future of each path and were being given a choice.

I love the bear as a symbol. Both fierce and loving as they're awesome mothers but the last creature on earth you'd want to pick a fight with. Especially a grizzly. As far as I know, something happens to them during maturity which essentially makes them a bit nutty and brutal where as the other bears like the black bear or spirit bear generally remain timid and will sooner run away from man than attack him. I remember the story of the guy who used to go into the woods to spend time with the bears and he wouldn't accept that when grizzlies mature you should really stay the hell away from them. He finally learnt when one killed him.

Perhaps in your case you saw the grizzly bear as the 'destructive' face of god. Tearing away the old so the new can take form.

I did have nightmares about that little green communist and they were all similar.
I finally got to face off with him and he ran away.
I could never find him again.

Hi Anno, thanks, it sounds like you put a lot of thought into your interpretation. Sorry, no Scandinavian blood here, so that may preclude Odin.

I'm not much of a dream interpreter, but in this case I tend to "feel" it as analogous of the period of time we are entering.(or in) I think we are all on a collision course to experience a moment such as with the great bear. That moment is our final exam in this cycle that is concluding, and everything we have done not only in this life, but all our lives, has been in preparation for this time. Some have already moved well beyond this,(the old man I sat next to) some have done their homework and stand a real good chance of moving on, (me) and some need some more time on the merry go round. (old man who got eaten)

The great bear is both our worst enemy and best friend. He is the tyranny that is getting right up on us and personal like, and he is also blessing us with the pressure necessary to encourage us to toss caution to the 4 winds and step into our true power.

    Cheers,
    Fred

BTW, looking forward to an Anno dream.
