    Default Lucid Dream Experimentation

I dream lucidly fairly often. I'll admit, I've been a bit off lately as I haven't had a lucid dream in several weeks. I'm putting effort into it though, and I'm sure I'll be back in the rhythm in no time.

I've had so many of these dreams that I'm running out of things to experiment with. Moving through walls and flying is simple, I do these things for convenience rather than the 'wow factor.' The most fascinating thing by far has been talking to 'people' in these dreams.

Generally, they all act the same. They have zero social skills and only answer direct questions. For instance if I meet one, wave and say "hello," they'll just stare blankly back at me as if I said something nonsensical. No reply whatsoever. Sometimes these people will say something deeply philosophical, sometimes they're just 'yes men.'

So I came up with this idea; what does Avalon want me to do? Give me an idea and I'll try it so long as it's with in reason.

    Understand a few things though:
It's extremely difficult to stay lucid any longer than 3-5 minutes. I'll only remember a fraction of what happens. So if you want me to ask somebody in the dream (assuming somebody is around when I'm lucid) a question, I may only remember half of the answer.

One thing I have never done is look in a mirror. That may sound silly, but I want to try this more than anything at the moment.

If you know someone else who can lucid dream, why don't you both try meeting eachother in a lucid state at an arranged time. Try and have a conversation, and see if everything correlates after.

I often try this, as I get into a pre-sleep mode. Where your almost asleep however you still can operate. I ask myself to do a certain thing. Lets say for conversations sake that I asked myself to fly to mars. Most of the time when I do this and have recall it does indeed happen. So my idea is that you can sort of program yourself to dream what you want. Or perhaps how you want. Your physical state of being I think also effects how you dream.

Lol neither do I, I'm sure it's something I will master in the future, maybe then you and I can hookup in dreamland.

I remember seeing a book once which was all about the topic of two people being in the same dream, and recalling it after waking.

I may end up buying that book very soon, very interesting subject.

But otherwise, why don't you pick someone whose house you've never seen, have the intention to go to that person house, or room, and describe it to them when you wake.

    See if that works?

What environments are you in during the dreams? Is it places you have been physically before like you're own apartment/house or totally unknown places?

If you are in you're apartment/house, try affecting objects and watch the date and time on clocks and so on. For example if you are in you're living room, move something if possible, check the date and time.

It's hard this one, because we may be confusing lucid dreaming and astral travel, but then again, who knows wether they are any different?

My dreams always come in three different 'episodes' in one night. Sometimes it's my house, sometimes it is an anonymous location.

Jake has done what you're talking about in the astral world and has had some interesting results. If you shoot him a PM he'll give you his free e-book. It's a great read.

Nobody really knows. Jake is leaning towards the thought that it is indeed astral travel. I agree with him for some but not all of the dream world. I say this because some of my lucid dreams are just plain silly, but I have some that are incredible.

What I do believe is there is a medium that exists that you can 'get to' such as the astral plane. I don't understand it, but it's there. I've been there for sure, twice. I don't know what's going on in the dream world, it's very similar but not quite exactly the same. I can get there quite often though, and that's what leads to my fascination about it.

I've also heard amazing stories from people I know personally that transcends into the physical world. Since I can dream lucidly, I have a unique chance to analyze this medium.

this idea interests me very much. i used to post on an off-topic board and had an experience where another poster visited me in a dream and showed me different methods of becoming lucid. i didn't really put much weight behind it other than it was kinda neat to me. later on though we both had dreams involving a very specific scenario and setting in the same night. completely unplanned. in fact i wouldn't have thought any different about my own dream if he hadn't posted the details about his. so this type of thing has got to be possible. nowadays it is hard for me to stay lucid very long at all. interesting thread though. i'd be interested to hear if others have had shared dreams as well.

Lucid dreaming is like an artists canvas bro.... Its only as limiting as your imagination.
Things you may want to try as I a Fellow lucid dreamer has....
Go off planet, i.e visit ships or other planetary environments.
Go quantum...intermingle with your other existing time lines to see how your
    progressing at the same time.
try unwravelling exactly how many dream times you are apart of at the same time i.e
I have intentionally woke my self from an ethereal dream I wasnt in control of to find myself in another
scenario that wasnt to my liking, so I opted to wake up, to find my self in yet another realm of intrigue. By the 4th
try I actually connected to this reality.....Bit like the movie inception. Tests your rational mind this one.
Flying is great fun, take it to the next level though my friend....Detach from the body and be the wind,be the birds and bees.
Feel what it is like to be all things instantanously... Like the gods we truly are.... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I am currently reading "Adventures beyond the Body" By William Buhlman.
This is the most wonderful book on OBE's that you can find - or so I am told. In any case, it probably isn't for beginners and is challenging. I think if you can get to the various stages of past life, time lines, different beings, guides then you will be doing amazingly well.

So, like Etheric Underground suggests, going through the Universe might keep you pretty busy. It is really a work out for your etheric body, so you can only get to the stages that you are 'ready' for. Keep us posted! I would like to know how you go as I am yet to have an OBE.

I should like to know how you perceive the Source?

Since time is much more fluid in dreams I wonder if two lucid dreamers can agree to meet up together , but dream at different times and still meet up. I would think that this is entirely possible ... I had a semi lucid dream the other day - running - flying - and jumping over and across a barren fractured landscape with huge crevasses and lava. There was nothing else to do - the landscape was complete devoid of anything, so I figured, "heck, might as well do some acrobatics"

I'm trying to get better at lucid dreaming again - I used to be able to reasonably consistently. I'll let you know if I ever get back to that level.

From my experiences there are a whole range of lucid states - the very lucid ones for me are very similar to astral travel (although it's been a while - going on memory here) and happen with very real landscapes, objects, etc that exist (in some way or another) in the regular world. Other lucid dreams for me have been a mix of a regular dream-like state and a very lucid mindset, while others have lucidity - but only within a defined belief system that the dream itself contains (not full lucidity). I think there are scales or levels that a lucid dreams can occur across.

    My 2 cents.

Funny you mention that Strat. I had totally forgotten about it, but just a few nights ago I looked at myself in the mirror during a dream. It was not a lucid dream. At that time it was no bigger deal than doing it normally during the day, so I didn't pay much attention, but when I woke up and was thinking about the dream as a whole that scene came up. It got my attention because the face in the dream looking back wasn't mine. From what I recall it was much older with a beard and mustache.

It would be interesting, to say the least, to do that while lucid. Good luck on that endeavor!

Oh and by the way, I'm with you on the flying thing, got that mastered. It's always fun though.

    Cheers,
    Fred

Hey, Strat! I have often come across the same problem. I used to keep a running list of goals to accomplish while out of body. The list eventually dwindled down to just a handful of ongoing experiments. Right now, I have one main goal that I am working on. As I have said before, the lucid dreaming states are quite similar to Many Astral states. There can be a very fine line between what I would call an OBE or Astral Projection,,, vs Lucid Dreaming. I never tire of experimenting, no matter how long it takes me to accomplish a goal. I usually stick with it until I get some sort of success.

The next time you are lucid (providing that you remember, of course ) Look at your hands, and wave them in front of you a couple of times, this always brings about a more Lucid state. Others have said the same thing. Also,, try to feel the 'air' in your dream environment,, I mean, fly up high and really try and 'feel' the wind. The more sensation that you can 'create' the more likely you will find yourself out of your body.

Many times the memory blockage, or time limit has more to do with your experience drifting into a more non-linear mode of thinking, and you simply cannot remember it from our waking state. Which is fine too.

This is the experiment that I am currently working on. It is a multi-layered, meditative experiment that is ongoing. I think I remember you mentioning in another post that you meditated in different ways, for different reasons. That is perfect.
This experiment is tapping into the creative process. Using my imagination. I will meditate and clear my mind,, when I feel myself 'drop' into any sort of deeper trance, I will stop myself and just try and 'level out' and stay right there. What I am doing is visualizing and creating my own personal space craft. I imagine it with every detail, inside and out. I always go right back when I do this sort of creative meditation. I go back to the craft and I continue to create it. I combine every archetype or dynamic that I can think of when creating this craft. It is not powered by anything but my mind. (Although I haven't given it a test drive yet.) It is multi-dimensional and can navigate the entire multi-dimensional universes. It is quite an amazing craft. I always continue where I left off. I am picturing it in a field by my house. A perfect place to park one. Whenever I drive by it, I always try to imagine it there.

My intent is that I will be out of my body, and lucid enough to visit my craft in the Astral and see if my created construct is there! I do not see why not, i have done it with other things, even on accident. The folks at the Monroe Institute have an ongoing experiment that is achieving some pretty cool results. Theirs is more of a group effort, but it is similar, just the same. http://www.monroeinstitute.org/downl...rlines-report/. It is called the STARLINES report. It is amazing. These folks are traveling out of body,, TOGETHER,, in this craft they created,, and the reports of the far off places that they go are the same. They have gone all over the Universe and beyond in their little astral craft.

That is the crux of it. I too, do not have long when out of body, before i slip into a more Astral/non-linear experience. Yet I always try!
Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. Yoda....

Hi Jake, that's a pretty cool project you're working on there, but I'm chuckling tp myself wondering if you have informed your neighbors of the amazing craft parked in that field by your house.

    Good Luck and Cheers,
