Thank you Ktlight for posting this wonderfully put together video - I have tears of compasion in my eyes after watching this. I have followed David's work since he was laughed at on the Wogan show. David has true grit and courage and so pleased that people are now paying attention to his work. I attended his London event - it was brilliant!

but then he tried to get the people to laugh at him again, and David turned it around so fast that it didn't work. Round two goes to David! Wogan is a nasty stupid little man. Great video, and so true. Thanks for sharing.

On August 13th 2011, Gareth Icke swam the solent for Lewis Mighty. See www.gandtippers.com/swim for full details of the swim and the charity. In short, the stretch of water G swam is one of Britains busiest shipping channels with some serious tides and currents. He swam over 5/5 times the distance required due to fighting the tide in a time of 1:21... No mean feat. This was to raise money for Lewis Mighty, a young chap with a form of cancer that only attacks children.

DAVID ICKE SAID:
Gareth Icke was not a good swimmer, but he decided that he would swim across the Solent between the Isle of Wight and England to raise money for Lewis Mighty, a little boy who badly needs treatment that is only available at great financial cost. Gareth has amazingly overcome challenges with his own body since he was a child. He was told that he would never play sport, yet became the England beach soccer goalkeeper, plays football every week and now has swum across one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world with all its fierce and dangerous tides and currents. He has already walked across the Isle of Wight from tip to tip to raise money for Lewis, and my daughter, Kerry, is in training to ride some 60 miles around the Island to do the same.

Gareth worked incredibly hard to prepare for the swim, working up to 90 lengths of the swimming pool wearing clothes that caused drag, and he took to the water on a day of extremely strong currents and high winds that made it very difficult for him to get across and forced him to swim many times the straight-line distance. He was simply incredible. We are all so proud of you, mate.
