It will be interesting to see how they go if after tectonic movement they end up 2600 feet below sea level for the next 12000 years.....

At the end of the day there is no place on Earth that is "Safe" as such..... just the same as crossing the road, it is never completely safe. Yes we all have the will to live and will fight for every breath, I just wish we could all work together to preserve our race for the right purpose not for greed and power..

Do you know where this thing is built? Is it an earthquake free zone? It would actually be very DUMB, to build an underground base on a place vulnerable to earthquakes...

DUMB's could be looked at as a mass tomb....We can only guess what's going to happen when the time comes....The tectonic plates shifting sounds highly likely....
Honestly, you have to wonder about those who were chosen to go into them. Do these people REALLY think money made them better people? The Hubble guy said (if he's telling the truth) that there are many cattle pens waiting for them.
I also agree with Cal about not wanting to be stuck with THAT crowd....

To be honest take a cruise, if everything gets out of place the oceans are probably the only place with a 50/50 chance if we are talking about seismic shifts, having said that 1000 foot tsunami could present a problem or two.....

I've not seen any reference to any problems with Caissons Disease ( DCS ) and how it's dealt with in these environments.
