Yes there were MORE than 150 earthquakes yesterday... there was actually 267 Registered. Yesterday was NOT the most amount of Earthquakes that El Hierro received. One day in August she actually Registered 454.
Yesterday, however, 'the hits just kept on coming...getting bigger and harsher, felt on the surface (approximately 8), and in some areas it just....got too much.
The energy is accumulating, and only God knows what Polly (see previous posts) is going to do next.
    Yes there were evacuations.

I just the Facts as I come across them and try to stay away from estimates...

My best guess is that IF the MSM are only just joining the Party after TWO MONTHS...they will try and make it as apolyptic as possible.
    Stay away from this !!
Calm, breath, relax, stay centred and focused.

I have lived with the Canarian people for 13 years. They are strong and bonded and loving and courageos...they bold well in all extremes. I have great faith that the God that they love so much will hold out it hand and carry them to safety.

The official emergency web page for El Hierro is still down.
It was announced yesterday that the page would be closed today from 2pm GMT for approximately 20 minutes..
The "troops" arrived about the same time with their laptops and unfolding hospitals etc....for the moment...there is very little coming out, and the live stream coverage is little to none.

I am praying that ign.es do not slam the doors closed as well

    Take Care,
    Randles

Please be aware that the opening statement "We’ve been closely watching the earthquake swarm at the Canary Island’s El Hierro since the middle of the summer and it looks li.....".....is not very true...
Type El Hierro in their OWN search engine....it has NO PREVIOUS posts of watching anything closely..

This is just the start of Alternative/Msm 'joining the party' and sensationalising something up quickly.....with information pulled from dedicated posts that have been praying and crossing fingers for a long time...

Me thinks that you will start to see a lot more attention paid to this ... regardless of how long Avalon have been digging and poking.
WE do this privately and respectfully without feeling the need to 'publish' passive live coverage.

Its up to you sweetie which way you want to look....
Some sites just make it look good

Hey randles, I'm happy to see you're doing well (?), or at least I hope you are, your little island has been front page news here in Finland as of today (at least on the web, but they are starting to pay attention, the news broadcast as well on tv), they reported that about 50 people (out of 10,000) have been evacuated, I keep checking up on the situation, as little as that may sound, but you and everyone on El Hierro are 'in my thoughts'.

The piece of news is in Finnish, but here's the link anyway:

Yes, you would expect so ... therefore I was surprised that the Dutch article played it down to just 15% chance of eruption.
Although I don't really know what the local situation is a slow and controlled eruption of the volcano may be the right outcome.
It would release the pressure and prevent worse things from happening ...

    Thank you Kate,

This is probably one of the more responsible 'first outs'

Just to make a point though....
"A holiday island popular with Britons","is popular with British tourists looking for quiet sunshine holidays away from the bustle of neighbouring islands like Tenerife and Lanzarote."

El Hierro has 5 Hotels, 2 Rural getaways........................ after 13 years on these Islands, it is rare that ANY British Tourist even knows the name of the Islands poking out from the sea...the main question of curiosity has always been " what is that Island called that will wipe out America "
El Hierro is popular with British Residents here ..for Diving, Diving, Diving, or sneaky week away...

I guess that the highlighted statements that I choose to paste are the Newspapers way of 'cushioning the blow' on the Impact of Tourism.... Point is... Everybody knows that the Hawaiian Islands are Active. Britons book Holidays every year, and indeed book a Helicopter Excursion over the Activity...
Now, Imagine the average Briton saying .... "shall we go for a bit of sunshine and lava to El Hierro again this year love" ??...and yes, I am smiling too. After all, the average Briton can't pick up 'Eastenders' or 'X Factor' on the television in El Hierro.
These Islands have a GERMAN influence. Residential, Historical and Literal.

At the moment I am, just, like you, watching the MSM start to Publish,, The majority are bringing the "Doom" scenario of La Palma and the 'dreaded' word "Tsunami" into the equation.

Lets just watch and wait, just as we have been doing here on Avalon since before the event unfolded.
    First things Fiirst..
Please keep sending Your Love and Light to these Islands. It is still needed.

Enjoy the MSM by all means. But read inbetween the lines. Don't become part of the Rumour Therapy Department, .. Research it yourself with facts. Cross Reference what you can. And Accept that there are some things that really are NOT as they seem.

    Randles

    15% huh ?
For the last 2 months there has been 0% interest in this by ANY MSM
They lid of "lips are zipped" is now officially OFF the Pressure Cooker of the fiow of information. The cat is out of the bag; so to speak.
I applaud the article. I do. Responsible Journalism and the Guidlines that it imposes can only be drawn from the sites that we have become so accustomed to looking at for some time here. Even when I scan the articles, I don't look at the graphs and charts etc., as we all see them here each day,..But to the mainstream listener this will come as a bit of a shock.
There is a 15% chance quoted of an eruption...what percentage chance would you now give the Islands if you were Joe Public looking to book a holiday here ?
But it begs the question 15% of what..100:1 5o:50,,,,,,,,, if you get what I mean,
Thank you for YOUR responsible input into all of this..
I guess that this is now where OUR responsibilities to ourselves kick in

    "RTVE.es / AGENCIES 28.09.2011 - 19:06 h

The Canary Islands authorities have once again made a call for calm to the population of El Hierro, after the recent earthquakes detected in this volcanic island.

Insular President Paulino Rivero stated that the situation is of "utmost calm." Has moved there this afternoon the defense minister, Carme Chacon to oversee the next few hours the deployment of the Emergency Military Unit that landed about four o'clock this afternoon in the Iron to support effective Civil Protection any contingency.

The minister and the president have met canary for several minutes with the scientific committee that analyzes seismic movements are recorded on the island since mid-July and are now more than 8,000.

Most of these small earthquakes have been invisible to the population, but increased intensity and frequency on Tuesday forced the evacuation of half a hundred people living in the north of the island and are particularly vulnerable to landslides.

Paulino Rivero, pointed out further that the eruption of La Palma Teneguía, which occurred in 1971, far from being a negative factor, became a stimulus for tourism and scientific visits.

Rivero was speaking after reaching the island, where he will meet with President of the Cabildo, Alpidio Armas, the defense minister, Carme Chacon, and the Chief of Defense, Jose Julio Rodriguez, who also found in the Hierro to oversee the deployment of the Military Emergency Unit.
Similar to the eruption of 71 benign

The president told reporters canary in the event that will culminate in earthquakes volcanic eruptions, scientific forecasts predict a phenomenon similar to the Teneguía and so he said, the situation is "maximum quiet" on the island.

Rivero said that the scientific equipment which has been advanced since the last eruption occurred in the Canary Islands and that was the example cited Teneguía and that are installed 14 seismographs and the information obtained from them can take decisions based on scientific advice.

Canary Executive President insisted that El Hierro is a situation of maximum normal and said that this situation will continue in the coming days.

Regarding the deployment of security forces in the island, the president argued that canary can not act with improvisation because technically it is possible that culminate in an eruption earthquakes as Teneguía benign.
It is not planned a mass evacuation

Despite this forecast, he said, authorities can not be trusted and therefore is expected to mobilize all forces without need to create alarm.

Rivero, who recalled the volcanic origin of the Canary Islands, stressed that there is planned a mass evacuation and praised "the extraordinary civility of the citizens of El Hierro".

He reiterated that the deployment of troops is covered "since we have to sit with a sandwich and a beer to view a benign rash until we have to mobilize."

He reminded that since 2009, Canary has a prevention plan volcanic risk."

imho Wired is a pretty good source for information... as a matter of fact I have many many back issues from when I was a subscriber... just my 2cents here. They tend to have a different way of reporting things... hard to explain but I like them. I also do not stick to one source either... I like to add many, then sift through them... I just thought that as they opened with
"we have been closely watching.." I immediately searched their site, for the History of what 'they've been closely watching'...and came up with...Nothing..Nothing of 22 hours over 2 posts..
Is wired a good source of information and the distribution of it on other things ??
Pardon me for asking...the only reason that I do ask is that because after so long following this, the ONLY intermittant contributor to whispering about this was Mainly the Irish Times..and that was less than occasional.
Thank you for all of your imput White Rabbit. You are a Star

It just amazes me that none of this is being covered in the media. We all know why I just can't seem to get over the silence. Thank you for the updates and good luck to you!!
