It's gonna be interesting to see what the outcome of this is.... Considering that "soon to be" governments always seem to promise what the electorate demand in the run-up to elections, then quickly backtrack when they get into power, it's the likes of backbenchers that seemingly "carry the torch" for us peasants when promises are broken... Now they've got a chance to "put up or shut up", I wonder how the vote will go...??? Even if positive, it's non-binding, but it would put pressure on the government to follow through to the people...

My guess would be.... An "event" will happen that will either postpone the backbench vote or if it goes ahead and is successful, then an "event" will happen that postpones a referendum.... Call me cynical..!

I'm gonna try tagging this as a prediction!

"The government would not be bound by the result of the vote"

    that made me laugh... lol

if we all vote no (which we will) & they stay in the EU then they will be showing all the people of the uk that it's actually ruled by a dictatorship & not in the best interests of the people.

As with Ireland, if we voted no all they'd probably do is change a few words here & there and then make us vote again!

    "No" isn't an option
