I remember watching a video with David Icke yesterday, but can't find the link in my browser history now

But when browsing Project Gutenberg's recent releases, I came across a very interesting confirmation that this financial sleight-of-hand has been going on for nearly a century at least:

In these cartoons from the First World War, scroll down to the heading WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITHOUT MICHAEL? to see how loans were being used as security for more loans.

Have we learned nothing?

The modern version of the system began in 1694 with the charter for the Bank of England being issued.
With that, the banksters gained control over a nation that would go on to spread their empire like a disease over most of the earth, taking the banking system with them.
This ''empire'' which many people are still proud of was built on exploitation, misery, huge profits and very little in the way of compassion and/or ethics.
Ironically, at the height of this empire, there was a guy called Jack the Ripper stalking the east end of London.
At that time, the empire was the richest on earth, yet there were over 50,000 prostitutes in the east end alone.
Many of them would spend their money on drink and keep enough to rent a bed for the night.
So, the riches didn't filter down through to the bottom of the pyramid.
The people of the islands that some call Britain were victims too, but they didn't realise it at the time.
Some still don't.

I hate to big up the Catholics, but at least far back enough they prohibited usury the way Islam prohibits usury and the way Colonel Gaddafi prohibited usury. We need people like him.

Actually, that's a cause for hope. If even bodies which are ideologically opposed to usury, like the early Catholic church, can become corrupted with it, then something so corrupted with it, like our modern-day systems, can make an equally momentous change and rid themselves of it :-)
