    Uncle Sidious is not amused.
I just spent a few hours messing with the computer for no outcome.
I bought one of these kits.
    http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/prod...zA0Mzcw&lan=us
Thinking I would install that tonite.
Well, no, you won't do that at all.
    What a pile of crap.
For one thing, they have non standard fan sizes, but they don't tell you that, do they?
    Standard fans size is 80mm, 90mm, 120mm.
These have 110mm, so you can't mount them to the mountings in the computer box like they say.
Secondly, you can't improvise as the power lead from the supplied fans are far too short to allow you to place the damn thing anywhere else.
So, I put the aircooler back on, boot it up and find that seeing I have removed the cpu fan, the bios has reset my RAID 0 install and it can't see it now.
Windows is running off that RAID install, so no boot.
Anyone interested in viewing a potential nuclear explosion come down to PLE Computers in Wangera, Perth on Monday morning when I go get a refund.
Lightsabre or no, this little communist is going back to the shop.

That's the thing about good steel. It's almost hypnotic. For almost any man. If they see a sword on the wall.... they want to touch it, to hold it, to move it, to move with it.

    Then again....Maybe it's just me....

Thus the deep familiarity of the harry potter wand selection bit. however, when they move those bits of wood around in the films..the illusion and the connection fades, IMO.The actors must try and be 'one' with the wand, and thus it would become more believable.

Like good steel, the wand or staff... is the extension of the person, it is not the person. If the two are not fundamentally connected, then it will fail.

    edit:

To rephrase it a bit....I own neither gun, nor sword, but I respect their history (from prior times) that lies within me.

What you say about wands here is true for crystals, too. In my opinion.
I noticed how many Avalonians project intelligence at stones and crystals,
when in reality they still need an owner or handler to either store knowledge inside them, or use them to refine and project their will and energies.

Still typing on a phone grateful that I have it. A techno wizard friend of mine going to fix my comp & put some -nazi resistent- hardware in it for me. He used to work for one of the programs w/the acronyns behind it that we all talk about here. When I met him I didn't know... but felt something was up with him.... Then came the quiet realization he wanted me to help him. So, we are helping him put some his heart soul & spirit pieces back together...

as for crystals, to me they are equalizers -a gift from the earth

When I was very young someone very wise once said to me, do not abuse your power.
The answers you seek are within -i still struggle none the less

Modwiz so glad to see the hilt of your sword is pointed down -would not want to be around if you had to wield it

Here & now enjoying a beautiful clear autumn day.

I've been meaning to change my avatar to my current self...the last one was pretty and all, but 7 years old.
So I want to show reality for the Here and Now thread, although I breathed on the lens to blur the wrinkles.

Me too, Nora. I am glad you're having lovely weather too. The breeze keeps whipping up... I don't think I'm doing it, but maybe... I do love a nice breeze to blow the leaves around.
The sky is blue, the chemtraails of the morning are gone, now just whispy white clouds beyond the tall pines. The sun is lower these days but just warm enough. It dips below the deck roof. A hat brim keeps it out of my eyes for now.

LS, I'm glad I'm nowhere near Perth. Maybe a few deep breaths to tide you over til Monday? Hope you get it all straightened out easy as pie.

I never had a well running computer til recently ... finally got a Lenovo thinkpad laptop, named her Gert, and she's been running pretty smooth. When I remember, I like to connect with the machines in my life, and acknowledge their connection to divinity. Everything in the world of form has this, not just trees and grass and flowers. Machaelle Wright talks about it, and Christopher Penczak. Surprising what you can do with it.

Where else could I feel free to post something like this, generally, and have every expectation that most people would understand what I'm saying, or at least be willing to give it a thought?

    Love,
    Marianne

PS: Ulli, I'm there with you in spirit! It's so beautiful, happy you are in that gorgeous place ... now I can visualize your whereabouts.

As I explained to mod, in a PM, my history seems to lie in this direction:

very solid Pummel for close quarters, guard and pummel designed so you can hit the dirt and keep your hand, at the same time you keep dexterity. designed with a razorback top due to the weakened forearm motion on the backstroke, weighted toward the tip for good side defense motion capacity, and the finisher is in the other hand..as this one's main job is to force the defense.

I've never touched a sword in this life, really, other than little bit here and there, but this sort of sword speaks to me. due to my smaller stature, such a sword would be just under cutlass and Katana size. With two filled hands, the other resembling a slightly undersized gladius or kopis:

Put the sword catcher on that weapon, versatility remains in both hands, even though the designations are specific. Few people would fail to back away from that pairing, except for Armour, which would not be encountered under the conditions that pair would find themselves in.

So Mod seemingly has history in Europe, I'm seemingly from the med-mideast, and Purple is seemingly from the east. Within the scope of such things, that is.

I'm reluctant to make posts about swords, and I apologize for it...but one cannot understand their meaning, IMO, without encountering them and having been of that nature at one time or another.

Guy talk is fine as long as it doesn't lead to gender wars.
Also I prefer conversations about swords to baseball bats.

Guy talk is fine as long as it doesn't lead to gender wars.
Also I prefer conversations about swords to baseball bats.
More romance more history more culture.

I could talk about the kitsch togas that the provincials in Egypt where wearing when the Roman rule of Egypt was getting long in the tooth..when I was there. they were trying to emulate the Romans and their elites, senate, high up Roman women, etc. Just like the eastern (in today's situation) and backwoods of the world do when they try to emulate something from a far away culture that has overtaken their own.

It was downright embarrassing. As usual, they never seemed to notice it. This difference between caricature and culture. It had a touch of Greek flair to it, as you might imagine.

so yeah, this is a human thing that has been going on for quite some time. In this case it was fully rampant nearly 2000 years ago, in Egypt.

Someone posted your avatar picture here ...many, many pages ago.
I asked for you then but you never showed up in person until now.

If and when a person understands time properly and gets out of linear thought for a moment then it becomes quite clear that there are these overlaps.
The past is being relived now.
