Dinner for birthday friend went well .
First time effort at homemade Japanese food was
loads of fun and a big success .
My body is still getting used to eating again,

Hello Nevermind...I totally missed your post somehow...I guess the thread is moving too fast for me these days...so happy to see you here, and about you adding your special moment. I know all about that anticipation thing....and holding off...
In my case I found the answer or explanation in astrology...as a Capricorn I have a strong Saturn factor which is about self deprivation. By depriving myself I guess I am piling up future joy, or so my Saturnian inner whisperer wants to have me believe.
When joy comes with great force it can sweep one to heights where enlightenment is possible...or at least the glare of the sun is not so strong any longer that the stars and infinite cosmos are veiled by sun glares/flares.

Oh please, Ulli, the only thing "special" about that moment I wrote about was reading other people's "now" moments, starting with yours.

The perception - and recording - of the "now" is an essential part of my being, and has been since I was child. Let's leave it at that. :-)
Which is why I look forward to reading more and more - and more - of those other people's "nows". Not a single one of them is uninteresting or "irrelevant", no matter how modest it may appear to be. How could it be?

Been a busy couple of days for me. Mother in hopital (but shes doin fine), wife stuck at the airport, helpin my wee bro movin into a new house. Looking forward to a few hours surfin Avalon. Thanks for link Ulli, interesting similarities. I visited Rome 2 years ago. It was both a lovely ( Spannish steps, the fountains and especially Tivolli) and creepy (the vatican ) experience.

As I explained to mod, in a PM, my history seems to lie in this direction:

I've never touched a sword in this life, really, other than little bit here and there, but this sort of sword speaks to me. due to my smaller stature, such a sword would be just under cutlass and Katana size. With two filled hands, the other resembling a slightly undersized gladius or kopis:

Put the sword catcher on that weapon, versatility remains in both hands, even though the designations are specific. Few people would fail to back away from that pairing, except for Armour, which would not be encountered under the conditions that pair would find themselves in.

So Mod seemingly has history in Europe, I'm seemingly from the med-mideast, and Purple is seemingly from the east. Within the scope of such things, that is.

I'm reluctant to make posts about swords, and I apologize for it...but one cannot understand their meaning, IMO, without encountering them and having been of that nature at one time or another.

When I first saw this post, I had an urge to make one of those of the cuff cryptic remarks, saying that we first had a meeting in egypt before going those separate ways, in reference to europe the east and mideast. I didn't say it then, but then y'all go talking about egypt, so I thought maybe it was worth saying after all.

Also, we were at the local lebanese restaurant, so here and now I am pretty stuffed on all the felafel and kibeh and baba ganouj and hummus, and so on. And don't forget the arabian tea. It was awesome, and a little early celebration for lotusblossom's birthday, which is tomorrow. We are now at home watching Bleach. If you haven't seen this, Carmody, you should if you care at all for anime.

Not yet, that i can recall. I don't commonly meet people with no formal education. If you mean simply no high level education, then..yes. I'd have to think who and where, though. I myself have no 'formal' education (they remain uncompleted). But I do impress my patent lawyer. He has his doctorate in mechanical engineering, and taught the same at Germany's most prestigious Polytechnic institute, and then did ten years of patent design work for technological firms in the equivalent of 'silicon valley'.
