Republicans in the first 3 states seem to be taking him seriously.

The forefathers of the US said these days would come.

Honestly, even if Paul was elected the system is stacked to prevent good honest people from fixing much of anything. It's built on greed and ambition for power and money. If they don't get what they want, Paul might be playing from the bench and not the field.

But throughout history, the most selfless contributing people were not welcome by the masses and still rose against the tide to change the world.

    We shall see...

"Tell me where is fancy bred, Or in the heart or in the head?"

    Default Congressman Ron Paul

    Hello All,

I tried a thread on this yesterday, but it went way off topic. Since time is short, I started a new thread for the same purpose. I am asking for any legitmate questions that one may have for Congressman Paul. I have no need to hear anyone's poltical views or lectures on how the system runs. I am open to any sincere questions asked in a polite, and not inflammatory way. I am more than happy to get questions that would be challenging to Congressman Paul. I am looking for questions that he may not have answered several thousand times before. I know this may require some thought but I do appreciate any legitamate polite questions from democrats, republicans, libertarians, independents, green party, constitutional party, socialist etc etc. I do appreciate your time in posting the questions. But time is short and I will need them soon.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Davis

Do you feel a government has the authority to take actions its citizens cannot?

Would you suport nationalising the Federal Reserve as an alternative to ending it & running it for the profit of the american people (No longer issuing curancy as debt to the US)?

Should state Senators be voted into office by popular vote or appointed by the State government they represent?

    1. How can Dr Paul get the corrupt Congress to enact legislation in keeping with his agenda?

    2. Would he support term limits, end lobbyists "campaign contributions" and end the revolving door between government agencies and corporations?

    Thank you

Yes. This is because the majority are instructed how to think. The issue here is whether the truth can attain a critical mass. If so, it will make little difference. Eventually the "enlightened" will rub off on the masses, given some critical mass, even if the masses don't know or understand why.
T, you hit it right on the head. Very well stated. I truly wish with all my heart that the masses learn.

    1) If you win the Presidency in 2012, you will not be able to End the Fed outside of Congress, but how will you reign them in, or diminish their power in the meantime (while your son, Rand Paul keeps working to end them from Congress)? Would you use executive order, repeal older executive orders, or appoint someone to run the Fed who would take policy in an opposite direction?

    2) Will you work to create a competing currency to the Federal Reserve Notes, that is printed by the US Treasury without monetizing debt? If so, will it be tied to silver/gold, will it be commodity based, or some other instrument?

    3) If you succeed at the first two items, by weakening the Fed, and printing new money, under control of the US government, and American citizens, how do you plan to not get assassinated like Lincoln and Kennedy who also wanted the US to print its own money? How will you "kill the bank", as Old Hickory, Andrew Jackson put it, which he did, and survive it?

    1) You focus on going to a gold standard yet other analyst say that there is not enough gold in the world to support our economies and a new monetary system in this manner. How would you response to these criticisms and how would you ensure the gold standard that you wish to go back to is a viable option?

    Hello All,

Thanks to those who have already shared some questions. I think asking questions is almost better and sometimes is better than getting an answer, becasue I think that questions usually lead to many people understanding the right questions to ask.

    Hello All,

Thanks to those who have already shared some questions. I think asking questions is almost better and sometimes is better than getting an answer, becasue I think that questions usually lead to many people understanding the right questions to ask.

The following is from Ron Paul on the issues. If while reviewing, a question pops into your mind, I would appreciate the sharing of the question.

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Davis

Default Rep Jewish Coalition Bars Ron Paul - For Presid Debate-he's Too misguided & extreme

    FYI:
"On Wednesday, Dec. 7, the Republican Jewish Coalition will host a presidential-candidates forum featuring Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum. Not invited is the GOP candidate currently polling around third in New Hampshire and second in Iowa: Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). The explanation:

Paul was not invited to attend the RJC's candidates forum because the organization - as it has stated numerous times in the past - "rejects his misguided and extreme views," said [RJC Executive Director Matt] Brooks.

"He's just so far outside of the mainstream of the Republican party and this organization," Brooks said. Inviting Paul to attend would be "like inviting Barack Obama to speak."

Link via the Twitter feed of an approving Jamie Kirchick.

Brooks gave a more detailed critique of Ron Paul back in May:

"As Americans who are committed to a strong and vigorous foreign policy, we are deeply concerned about the prospective presidential campaign of Congressman Ron Paul. While Rep. Paul plans to run as a Republican, his views and past record place him far outside of the Republican mainstream. His candidacy, as we've seen in his past presidential campaigns, will appeal to a very narrow constituency in the U.S. electorate. Throughout his public service, Paul has espoused a dangerous isolationist vision for the U.S. and our role in the world. He has been a virulent and harsh critic of Israel during his tenure in Congress*. Most recently Paul gave an interview in which he voiced his objection to the recent killing of Osama Bin Laden.

Brooks added, "We certainly respect Congressman Paul's right to run, but we strongly reject his misguided and extreme views, which are not representative of the Republican Party."

    Weird punctuation in the original.

So what are these "extreme views"? Over at The Huffington Post, Dovid Efune, the director of The Algemeiner Journal and Gershon Jacobson Foundation, offers an explanation:

Paul's positions on Israel have been almost uniformly derided. Whilst claiming to be non-interventionist on the issue, he has routinely adopted Arab talking points on Israel, even comparing Gaza to 'a concentration camp.' His Isolationist mantra may appeal to fiscal conservatives, but in the real world its implementation would create a global power vacuum that would likely be filled by supporters of Israel's enemies.

Anti Defamation League National Director Abraham Foxman has a perhaps unintentionally interesting take about Paul, U.S. politics, and Israel:

with the exception of Ron Paul, there is not much difference between the parties

And no orthodoxy-definition would be complete without David Frum:

Of the 8 candidates competing for the Republican presidential nomination, 7 declared themselves intense supporters of the State of Israel, the sole exception being crank no-hoper Ron Paul.

I'm no expert on Ron Paul's Israel views, and I reserve the right to be outraged later by what I don't know now, but what I find interesting here is the namecalling-to-content ratio. Here, let's count it out:

Name-calling: 1) "misguided and extreme," 2) "so far outside of the mainstream," 3) "like...Barack Obama," 4) "will appeal to a very narrow constituency," 5) "dangerous isolationist vision," 6) "uniformly derided," 7) "claim[s] to be non-interventionist," 8) "Isolationist," 9) "differen[t]," 10) "crank."

Content: 1) "virulent and harsh critic of Israel," 2) "voiced his objection to the...killing of Osama Bin Laden," 3) "routinely adopted Arab talking points," 4) "compar[ed] Gaza to 'a concentration camp," 5) "would create a global power vacuum that would likely be filled by supporters of Israel's enemies."

Looking at the five content items, 1) is supported only by 4); 2) intentionally left out the phrase "legal method of," 3) is a general and largely contentless insult, 4) is a discrete piece of hyperbole that rubs my literalist heart the wrong way, too (though the full quote contains two qualifiers: "Palestinians are virtually in like a concentration camp"); and 5) is the Transitive Property run amok, though it does at least hint at the real-world question/critique of what, exactly, replaces hegemonic American responsibility for world affairs, and which bad actors are more likely to do badder things."

Very disturbing, but I'd find it very difficult to believe.. they would even further alienate the masses that support Ron Paul and create more dissent. Although i wouldn't put anything passed these psychopaths..

The source is in Russian, so can't be verified.. Unless anyone here speaks russian?!

    Hi there,

Very disturbing, yes but I don't find it difficult to believe at all. Ron Paul is firing on all cylinders and really is looking like a contender for the Presidency. Wouldn't that put a spanner in the works? A real honest politician for once who is not bought and paid for, telling the truth. You can bet they want to disapear him!

    Cheers,
    Lily

A good point, but perhaps that's Exactly the impetus they need to impose martial law?.... how convenient that the senate has just passed the legislation to implement that action... that the Executive Branch (Obama WH) has said it will veto. If such an action as the assassination of Ron Paul occurs, could this be the coordinated action necessary to allow them to justify signing this legislation? I tend to believe this is exactly the plan.
